I definitely think Neighbor is even more of a “character” than the entire Family. I believe Wife and Daughter are a bit closer to what Dad is (even if Dad is a bigger focus of the “experiment”), but I think that Neighbor instead exists purely to create conflict within the Family. He makes Wife think of cheating, he makes Dad think of pornography, he stirs up discord and conflict.
Wait...the sudden shift to musical content. The fact Dad gets punished for assumably a lewd content magazine and doesn't get to use the server till an arbitrary number...like a demonitization strike? Is Dad a metaphor for UA-cam itself prehaps?
I think that some of the details of the story diverge from that (like the being an alien thing), but I totally agree that those things are just the framework for that exact UA-cam metaphor. It seems pretty clear. I wonder if the orbs are the comment section... sometimes keeping content on track for quality, sometimes influencing it negatively.

There is more to Dad. Live streams were done and deleted. Myself and others have transcribed them on r/dadfeels. Also, the female voice asking Dad to wake up is believed to be Other Daughter. Dad has hinted towards her on stream but also seems to fear her for unknown reasons. There has also been hints that Dad has had an affair with Dianne. Dad has also made references that he believes Mom has been "spending to much time" with Neighbor. One night we witnessed (in text. The screen was black and Dad couldn't talk.) Dad bringing his family on vacation. Then Neighbor showed up. As far as we could tell a fight ensued and the stream ended. The next night everything was fine. Almost as if Dad had been reset. Unfortunately I became very busy with life happening early in this game. While Dad was streaming I had to sleep and free time was just at a premium for me. So thank you Nick for bringing me up to speed with this video. But I promise you there is more to Dad you haven't heard yet.

And Dad was doing his streams anytime between 12am-5am my time. Between being a long time supporter of Nathan and being very intrigued by the Dad character. I was running myself extremely thin. Which is why I had to take a break from the Dad ARG and thanks to Nick I am caught up.

I think, judging from "Nathan's" videos, it's about an artist who creates a character, then when they feel they're done with the character and want to move on they are forced by some corporation or entity to keep that character "alive" even though creatively there is nothing left for them according to the original creator.
There have been a few updates since. It seems the character of Cheryl or Mom is in on it. In the most recent video, she is seen with 3 people, as if she was directing a project, and when one makes a comment, the UA-cam agent escorts him out. After a bit, the words "Quantum violation" flash on the screen. Plus, in Little Towels, she's the one who rushes to Dad to feed him from the can of food after Dad takes a bite out of a pancake and comes to his senses, asking "Where am I?" and asking Cheryl "Who are you?" Whoever took Dad and is maintaining him in the server, and whatever it is they're doing with him, Cheryl is in on it. Maybe that's why she has power over the server? Maybe she's part of the team keeping Dad there?
I honestly love Daughter’s reaction because she is obviously uncomfortable with that. In a human family, the mom or whoever accusing the culprit would confront the culprit in private, not in front of the children unless the children needed to know what was going on for safety reasons. However, telling the kids still should be a very very last resort, making us sympathetic to Daughter’s reaction.
I so glad you covered this! Nathan Barnatt is honestly one of most talented creators out there, really underrated, so I'm thankful he gets some exposure through Dad (this is how I found him too).

Not gonna lie, my immediate first thought was actually of redesign your logo so definitely not you! Tbh you could probably make other connections like Mouth Moods vs Dad Feels but I feel like that'd be kind of a stretch. Admittedly the actual song doesn't really sound that much like it, though it does still hold at least a little bit of a similar vibe to... something? Can't quite place if it still reminds me of Neil's/Lemon Demon's original songs or if it's more of a Daft Punk vibe but it definitely felt familiar somehow and the lyrics still kinda feel like redesign your logo I think. That said I think he'd probably be credited in the description if he actually was involved unless he was like, avoiding association with this whole deal, so it's probably just a case of having similar vibes if anything.

EDIT: You also missed the song "Dad Is On" where binary code translates to "Andan come in this is base" and a second message translates to a UA-cam link to a german translation of a clip from Lost. In the clip, a man screams "Andan" many times before a large group of people come (I think Andan means others). So it says "Others, come in this is base".

At 4:11 when his right hand is in that thumbs up position, he might be referencing youtube likes since in that moment he's talking about being a youtuber, but it's probably worth noting that with the way the thumbs up is resting in the palm of his other hand and being raised up, it could also be the ASL sign for "help." Either way it's probably a meta moment asking the viewer to help Dad's channel grow, or maybe it's something deeper??

Not gonna lie, my immediate first thought was actually of redesign your logo so definitely not you! Tbh you could probably make other connections like Mouth Moods vs Dad Feels but I feel like that'd be kind of a stretch.
Admittedly the actual song doesn't really sound that much like it, though it does still hold at least a little bit of a similar vibe to... something? Can't quite place if it still reminds me of Neil's/Lemon Demon's original songs or if it's more of a Daft Punk vibe but it definitely felt familiar somehow and the lyrics still kinda feel like redesign your logo I think.
That said I think he'd probably be credited in the description if he actually was involved unless he was like, avoiding association with this whole deal, so it's probably just a case of having similar vibes if anything.

EDIT: You also missed the song "Dad Is On" where binary code translates to "Andan come in this is base" and a second message translates to a UA-cam link to a german translation of a clip from Lost. In the clip, a man screams "Andan" many times before a large group of people come (I think Andan means others). So it says "Others, come in this is base".
