Lose 20, win 3, make UA-cam content on 3 wins. People watch the 3 wins and conclude that you use crap openings to beat Grandmasters🤣. That is the game bro.
People worry too much about openings. As long as you can survive the opening, it’s playable. That’s especially true of an opening like this, which lacks a clear theoretical refutation.
I was following Anna's channel when she introduced the opening. A short time later, someone played the opening against her in one of her videos, and she was like, "You're going to play the cow? It's not a good opening." I wonder if this is the first time that a GM lost to the opening. Instead of c6 on move 13 (game 1), Eric could have maneuvered his knight to a more active position with Nc8-a7-c6-b4. Of course, there is still potential for the pawn on c2 to drive the knight off of b4, but it seems like the one hole in white's position that he could get a knight to.
I think Pia hates it. She’s way too serious for such stupidity. It’s more the sort of thing her dad would like, though I wouldn’t bet on it. There’s a big difference between grandmasters and content creators ;).
The Cow gives you an absolutely terrrible, passive position UNLESS you're an advanced GM who can turn water into wine, and thats what's good about it. Not a bad try, Eric. I'd like to see what Aman, Carlsen, or Hikkaru can do with it.
I love this opening. You spend four moves to put your knights on b3/g6 and g3/b6, but those are such bad places to put them, you end up spending more moves later just to reposition them. They say "don't move the same move twice in the opening," so Eric spends four moves on each of his two knights.
I would like to express my displeasure one last time regarding AI-generated images. I don't enjoy seeing them in my subscription stream and will probably take the decision to cancel my subscription. *sigh*. I like Anna Cramling, but every game when someone plays the cow is just so boring. One person moves pieces backwards and forwards first making the meme opening, then trying to undo the damage while the other person shakes with rage. Then you get some Fischer random type of position with pieces all over the place and one person super-passive. Then sometimes the super-passive person manages some swindle. It’s terrible to watch, uninstructive and the game is much worse than the people proposing the idea like to admit. The same goes for these other meme openings like the egg, beachcafe etc. I want to make my voice heard because every time you play this sort of total garbage there are always a horde of commenters encouraging it as though somehow it’s the funniest thing ever. I really enjoy your channel and like when you play interesting, sharp, tricky chess not this sort of passive “get myself deliberately into a terrible position and then hopefully find some trick” thing.
