Never thought I'd see a speedrun of an RPG that doesn't appear to be super luck reliant Then again this IS one of the few RPGs out there that doesn't rely on grinding and leveling up, so of all the games to speedrun this one makes sense
If you want the best possible time, Hylics is pretty luck-reliant, unfortunately. Horrid Projection/Clawman fights are especially coinflip-y, and there's loads of little things that can trip you up. No grinding is very nice, though
It's such a nice way to... never have to deal with finding paper cups. There're only 6 water coolers in the whole game, and I personally nabbed some nine-odd cups out of that hole!

I wonder if the Horrid Projection is like an astral projection of Gibby or something. They both seem to be things resting on a chair, and the "horns" of the projection resemble the back of his throne.
The main thing that helps me is picturing what the menus look like before the turn starts. That's why I clear my inventory before Clawman even though it wastes a tiny bit of time: so I know that the only thing in my inventory at the Gibby fight is Hot Dogs. And thanks
I just got softlocked in this game. I died and teleported to my house, my airship is in a place that i can’t access from there and so is my boat and the summoning tower by the house doesn’t work. It says ”summon airship?” I say ”yes”. It plays the visual effect of the ship warping but nothing happens, the ship doesn’t move. I’ve killed all enemies in that area so i can’t die from those, and I have the red party member guy so i can’t die from the red skulls either. What do i do?
@@TheGuy45 Damn, they used to be up on other channels, don't know why they're not on Mason's. If you own the game, all of the tracks can be found in the game files.
If you mean getting in front of the guard so you don't have to trail behind him: The first time I enter the room on a fresh save, there's a bit of lag, or the party loads in a tiny bit later or something, which prevents me from doing it. You can do it if you save and load, but that ends up taking longer.

talk to the water to summon the boat, the airship spawns on the island to the left of the starting one
