  • Plankton, the microscopic plants and animals that inhabit all oceans on earth, are often overlooked, yet they are the foundation of the ocean food web - feeding everything from fish to whales, sharks and birds. In the Red Sea - the hottest and saltiest sea on earth - a multitude of plankton survives at all levels of the water column. Scientists aboard OceanXplorer studied plankton to find out how these tiny creatures can survive in the harsh conditions and support the entire food web of the sea.

I was very surprised by the fact that there are many plankton species in the Red Sea as there is here in Tofino (Vancouver Island). I recognized many of the Zooplankton and a couple plankton species: Ceratium fusus and Coscinodiscus.
    Amazing

Enjoy them while they last. As the oceans acidify they will all die. And then you will too.

Would it be possible that in our past we used to drink water that had microorganisms in it, bacteriaphages & could that have been a natural aspect connected to us? *obviously not the harmful water born illnesses but could there have been positive aspects to it that we once could have handled?
