I’ll be honest, not interested in getting the lens, but I do really have fun watching whatever you guys are featuring. Your videos are great & also so informative. You both have a such wonderful demeanor.

    Thank You !

I do get close in shots almost macro with the Nikkor Z 28-400mm. I held the Tamron 35-150mm Z lens and did own the 24-70mm & 70-200mm F lenses. They are heavy! Cheers!

Thanks for the review! I'm not entirely convinced by the quality of Tamron's lenses, though. I got mine not long ago, and there was enough play at the mount that I decided to return it. In comparison, all my Nikkor lenses are tight when mounted, as they should be.

yeah I think I will be getting it as soon as the prices normalise.. my dslr fav was the 70-200 f4 and this one will do most of what that does and adds 50mm to the wide end and 400mm to the long end. the 67mm filter size is perfect for me as I have a raynox that attaches to my 70-200 and will as well to this 50-400 !!

Mention has to be made that the body used contributed to the zippy BIF autofocus. Image quality is certainly above the price range. Excellent review👍😄

I currently use a Sigma 100-400mm on the D7500 and also use this lens with an FTZ adaptor on the Z6 II. I find vignetting on the Sigma annoying on the Z6 II. I am contemplating getting this Tamron for the Z6 II. Waiting to see more reviews about its vignetting performance.

Excellent info, thanks! 👏🏻 Question - would you say the 50-400 is sharper at 400mm - than the 200-500 F at 500mm?

I wish they had kept the weight just a bit closer to the 28-400. At the same time, I wish the 28-400 was 6.3 at 400. I like the idea of this, especially the near macro capability at 50mm, but it's almost 70-200 weight, which for a travel/walk-around lens is just too heavy. I'd rather carry a 70-200 and crop at 2.8. I think the Tamron 70-300 and 28-75 2.8 is a better travel combo.

    I have the Nikkor Z 180-600mm, 100-400mm & the 28-400mm. I want a 600mm -1200mm range. What do You think? Cheers!

Hi, this is the only review that says the sharpness isn’t as good as the Nikon 100-400. All
The other reviews say the Tamron is actually sharper. And the Nikon is actually a little soft at 400.
