These are the Jeep of boots, but make sure to get them at a discount and buy separate insoles from the same brand. These won't disappoint for backpacking or long trekking, but avoid during summer time. You will prefer Moab mid neutral color with no built in waterproofing - can still apply a spray from the outside.
You nailed it! The only problem I have found with them is the lack of cushion and spring. I will be getting some new insoles. Thanks for the comment and advice.

@@TheOutdoorNavigator Check what they call "performance insoles" to replace standard ones. That's what I did for the same reasons as you.
