BIG KoRn fan too! Nice to see someone acknowledging their creative sounds 👌 Thanks for sharing those videos about Korn. It helps so much and u really know how to break down their stuff and how to sound like them 🔥
Hell yea!! I love that you pointed out the different riff in the bridges that Korn does. I love Korn's bridges, especially on the Untouchables album. The bridge is so important and underrated. I believe that Korn has the best bridges (imo) and they're always what I look forward to when I'm listening to my favorite songs by them.
Absolutely phenomenal work, man - great understanding of the sound! This actually inspired me to get in touch about guitar tones, so hopefully my email came through!
Thanks man! Did you email about a week ago? If so I did reply. Might be in your spam or something. I’ll shoot you another reply later in case it got lost or something!
finally a guy that shares knowledge in an aproachable way! and as a fellow huge Korn fan, i can't wait to finally do some proper sounds on my 2004 korn signature 7-string ibanez 😎
6:45 You obviously know what you're talking about, but just wanted to offer something up just in case you haven't considered it before. With stuff like this that's aggressive and a full frequency spectrum assault, using JUST the drum shell directs to trigger the rest of the track to duck JUST a tiny bit for JUST a few milliseconds helps a wider variety of drum sounds stick out in the mix. Obviously the old school technique was to add the stuff needed SO whatever sticks out enough and then smash it all together to even it out after (which is on theme for Korn's earlier stuff), but if you wanted more mellow drums (or whatever else) to retain some attack and clarity, that more modern technique might help clear up space for a wider variety of drum sounds. Big fan of this video, I'll be subscribing for sure. 👉👉
Hey I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and I was wondering if you can make a tutorial about this band called default 缺省 mostly 1 of the songs from the album California nebula . It’s more on the shoegaze and dreamy ethereal side and ik you’re more of metal type of person but it would mean a lot if you made a tutorial about them bc they’re sound is so dreamy and it’s like a feeling that’s hard to achieve and I wanna make that but if not. can you do another deftones tutorial but like similar to rosemary from the album koi no yokan ? In other words can you make a tutorial that’s more on the dreamy ethereal side but heavy at the same time ? That would be so cool if you did :D
Just checked out that album and they do have a super cool sound. I'm probably not gonna do one just focused on that band but I'm planning to do a more ethereal shoegazey one soon in that kinda vein, and also probably gonna do a heavier Koi No Yokan type track soon too. Rosemary is one of the most perfect songs!
@@RichiiWainwright wrrrrd 👀 bell notifications are definitely on 😎. Rosemary is definitely the best song graphic nature and romantic dreams is definitely an underrated one as well

I honestly could go on forever about how innovative and underrated they are. Thanks for watching! 🤘
Major Life is Peachy vibes, probably one of the best videos on youtube about making nu metal.

@RichiiWainwright I did indeed - 25th March I think, I haven't seen anything come through to my junk but will keep an eye out!
That riff is brutal! 🤘🤘🔥🔥

Here before your channel explodes. Great content man! Try to do something about the noise in your microphone it`s a bit distracting
Thanks! Yeah I think I just compressed the high end a little too much on my voice
What DAW are you using and would you say it’s good for beginners at recording?
Great video !! Would love to see you do a Drowning Pool inspired track

Sound like korn but without the vocals.
Jonathan wasn't available for this unfortunately
Day 1 of asking for production tips for black metal along the lines of Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth.
