    I'm an American revert. The last shred of following morality has been lost now. I'm speaking about the Gaza war. No matter what country you live in, I think some values will overlap with Islam, even if only by accident. But it's all gone now in my opinion. I'm in my late 70s and have seen a lot of change here. Freedom, justice, and the American way are just total bunk. If I were young, I would leave. My hope for America started to crack when Guantanamo was created, but it's in shambles now. I could put up with the sexual immorality because I hoped people would get tired of it and see it's emptiness and search for something else - Islam. But, this Gaza war is the ultimate betrayal of the values we used to idealize. We are no different than the China America used to complain about. Disgusting.

      May Allah help you settle in a country suitable for you and your family's Islamic as well as worldly needs. I'm trying to move to a better country myself for a more sharia compliant lifestyle, even if all it offers is just a bit stricter of a law on promiscuity and indecent exposures.

    After looking at Syria, Tunisia, Libya my eyes have opened. Sheikh's answer is right. Rulers are only a reflection of the society. Unless and until majority of the Muslims learn and follow Islam the correct way (the way of Prophet S. A. W and Sahaba) by avoiding shirk and bidah, it's hard that we'll go back to glory. • @hey.maaahir
      @hey.maaahir 5 місяців тому +6

      Assalamu Alaikum,
      The hadith on Nasai 4209 is:
      It was narrated from Tariq bin Shihab that:
      a man asked the Prophet, when he had put his leg in the stirrup: "Which kind of Jihad is best?'" He said: " a word of truth spoken before an unjust rulers."
      The hadith doesn’t mention speaking the truth in front of the public & provoking them.
      The salaf's way of doing it is to speak the truth in private.
      And to me this is the best approach. Because by nature if you do an evil act & someone gives dawa/ advice infront of people, most probably you'll not listen to that.
      But if anyone gives you dawa privately, most probably you're gonna take heed.
      If anyone doesn’t change after giving dawah privately with love, I don’t think he's gonna change if you say it in front of the public.
      Allahu a'lam.
      Just shared my layman thoughts.

      he is changing, for fear of people thinking he's bad, thats why protests work, as we see now people around the world take Palestine's side because the public had enough, you're not a scholar, now we follow salafs way, we follow the sunnah of our beloved prophet pbuh, you're not qualified to explain what a hadith means and give your opinions about it, our prophet pbuh says in this hadith " a word of truth spoken before an unjust rulers ", so what we go privately to our rulers in his palace made from our taxes and country's wealth and have a speech with thrm like kids ?? is this what your interpretation is ?? its " before an unjust ruler " not behind or privately, but before him, meaning infront of him, and we're all people who dont like him cause he's unjust, and we cant go privately to him, so whats the next best thing ? let him know, by going on a free space and SPEAKING to him through cameras and media who'll film it, this is only based on the hadith you quoted in English as in Arabic it may sound different, and what is said at least makes better sense than what you interpreted, and im not interpreting it im just debunking what you said it might means.@@hey.maaahir

      It was widespread media showcasing of the plight of our brothers and sisters in Gaza which got people to come out and ask their leaders to ask for a ceasefire. To your point of refuting/debunking what the other brothers said, and who/what gives you the right to refute and debunk or interpret what RasoolAllah saw said in the Hadith?
      Our brothers and sisters in Gaza and West Bank couldn’t be united and could not form a govt, couldn’t be united among themselves, there was no proper representation from their side just factions that wanted to drive the idea in their favor, PLO wants something, h@m@$ wants something else and Allah swt forbid whatever our leaders in Saudi and the Arab world are doing behind the scenes. Although right about the Arab Spring he is totally wrong on this issue today and shouldn’t be asked about politics in future. He is correct that you can’t impose religion but when the sun was on their side of the hedge many scholars were happy to provide a veneer of religiosity to despicable rulers who misused religious edicts to justify their tyranny and false claims of royalty. The Sheikh with no disrespect intended should stick to what he knows religion etc. and leave the rest to the practical people of the world. Though it may appear that another scholar had sold out or shown his true colours in difficult circumstances it may not be like that. Like all humans they simply appreciate the patronage of their hosts and the good life. Like us all they will be judged by what they could do at the time. People may say history will judge them but ultimately it’s Allah’s judgement that counts and we should look to ourselves first in all such cases. If you want wholesome changes in the world don’t look to rulers or scholars work with practical people of all faith or none to get things done. Historically it what people have always done especially when our societies were flourishing and at their most powerful.
