Hello PJAlphaMusic ! Nightwish fan here, your musical quest summoned me.
Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band! This live recording is from Wacken Open Air 2013, together with Floor Jansen [pronounced Yansen], the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K audience.
About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners.
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland.
Tuomas Holopainen [pronounced Tuo-mas], the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [Sami Vanska was the bassist of the band starting with their 2nd studio album, he was with them until 2001. Then Marco Hietala was bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least. Then in May 2021 Jukka Koskinen [pronounced Yukka] became the bassist of the band, for the Human :II: Nature tour - and recently, the band announced he became a permanent member] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen [he also recorded the bass lines for their 1st studio album]. Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen [pronounced Yukka] is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition.
Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen [pronounced Tarr-ya] (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her.
There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps.

When you want to go further on the path of our 1.83m (6ft.+) tall Dutch Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen besides Nightwish, here is some background information on the best and most versitale female singer of our time. Floor joined the band 'After Forever' in 1997 at the age of 16. Here are some of my favourites: ‘Energize me’; Monolith of Doubt’ and Dreamflight’.
Floor attended the then new Rock Academy in 1999 and graduated in 2003. She also studied 2 years at the Conservatory (1 year Music Theatre and 1 year Opera).
'After Forever' disbanded in 2009 and Floor started her own band 'Revamp' from scratch. Here she experimented with different vocal styles within one song from full operatic to death growls in seconds. Here are some examples: ‘Misery’s no Crime’, ‘Wild card’ and ‘Disdain’.
Besides managing a band on her own she also did a lot of vocal coaching and as she is a perfectionist, she wants to do everything at 100%+. Eventually she had to pay the price and got a burnout. She had just recovered when end of september 2012 the call came from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the North American Tour at first as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor had just 48 hours to learn the whole setlist. There is a documentary made of this world tour: ‘Please learn the setlist in 48 hours’
Floor joined Nightwish after this iconic Wacken concert in 2013 as permanent member of the band. Floor continued to perform with 'Revamp’ also, but it was clear that she could not combine the two for much longer, so 'Revamp' disbanded in 2016. Floor did a side project called 'Northward' where she dived into the Hard Rock scene. The song 'While Love Died is a must see.
Her stunning performances on the Dutch TV show 'Beste Zangers 2019' gave her at last some more recognition in her home country where she was relatively unknown until then. There are numerous guest appearances with other bands to find on UA-cam. To see how to get a crowd of metalheads silenced and in awe watch her featuring with the band 'Epica' and the song 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa’ and to see her in full opera mode, watch her rendition of 'O Mio Babbino Caro' from Puccini. As live concerts were cancelled and home isolation due to the Covid situation, Floor discovered UA-cam in these years. Mindblowing covers, chats with her idols and other singers, vocal masterclasses, personal insights and so much more. She even made a video reacting to herself singing Ghost Love Score at Wacken. Lots of technical info and some memories of her starting with Nightwish.
Also her Fan Friday videos are hilarious. Just unpack some of these and other presents she left on her channel. Also videos of her solotour she did with songs of her impressive career. Her latest endeavour is her stunning solo album ‘My Paragon. Floor is a high sensitive person, so peace and quiet is as important for her. Living by the woods in Sweden with her husband Hannes Van Dahl (drummer of the band Sabaton), daughters Freja (turned 7 years this march) and Lucy (born last october) ,a couple of horses, dogs and cats, she found this.

Un coucou de l'armée NIGHTWISH de France, très bonne réaction et analyse à l'écoute du plus grand groupe du monde pour ma part. Vous venez de faire connaissance du métal symphonique et de notre reine Floor, mais vous n'avez qu'effleuré le dessus de l'iceberg et vous n'êtes qu'a l'entrée du terrier de lapin. Empuu, Keyboardist Tuomas, drummer Jukka (Yoo-kah) went to school together, were in the Finnish Armed forces together, they are CLOSE. Singer Floor Jansen even mentioned how awesome Empuu's unscripted displays of affection are in HER reaction to HERSELF in this performance on her own UA-cam channel. Jukka is gone, Marko is gone. Nightwish is a fucking highly demanding powerhouse. When Emppu leaves I'm gone. And I l9ve Floor to bits. Did since her first After Forever podium. But when Emppu is out, so am I.

You're acting very strange man, as you read the comments about Floor. Did you even notice her? May be I misunderstood you. But it almost looked like you where surorised by people that pointed out her greatness. And off course you can't just bij one song alone.
This is wat I think: She is the most versatile singer all time, up until know. I recommend you to watch this again, and focus on her head, chest, belt, mouth and flawless breathcontrol, while changing from classical, to chest, to full belting and switching it all together, and yes she can even crowl. She has a range of more then 3 octaves, never uses autotune (It's is proved by some dude on UA-cam with softwware that can pick up strange autotune patterns in wave forms), And most of all she powerhouses over a f*cking hard Metal sound, like it is nothing.
Now go watch it again ;-) and then "storytime wacken 2013", "The poet and the Pendulum", "romanticide". And if you watched al those performances, there is a little big threat: "The Greatest Show on Earth - live @ tampera 2015 Featuring Richard Dawkins.". It a 20+ minute show telling the whole story from the beginning of the universe, the creation of the earth, and the evolvong of life, up and until know, how cracefull we mist be what our specis has achieved, with all the ups and downs. And how thankfull you must be to be aive. You as a classical pianist should hear lotsts of references to Bach (fuga from Toccata und fuga), Beethoven etc. Tuomas on the keys is the mstermind behind this band. IAsure you , you have a lot of fun at that 21 minute masterpiece.
Posting an announcement 30 days in advance?!? There's going to to be at least 20.000 views on this video. But since you are a musician, that could go up to 50.000. With an average lifespan of a human being of 80 years (29.200 days), it is more than likely 25 to 60 people have died before they got the chance to watch this video.

In this case however the 20.000 views guestimation might be very real and so is the 80 year life-span. (Though the 80+ viewers might be more scarce than the viewers in their thirties and forties)
