Yep! They both use the same bulb!!
This quick video shows you how to replace the headlight on your Toyota Avalon. It will only take you a few minutes - I promise you can do it! This is for Halogen bulbs. The process is different for HID and LED bulbs
Thank you! Single Mom here. You helped me change the low and high beam! God bless you sir!
God bless you! That's hard work being a single mom
Thank you so much. I did not realize how easy it was- saved me big labor charge at dealer. Video very clear and nicely shot. A+!
Thanks for the comment! I'm glad this was helpful. And yes - it's super easy!
Thanks for the video bro...straight to the point and specific detail.
Hi @Jason,
This video is great.
This is my first car, I checked with few car services to fix the low beam light issue and they told me it would cost around 75$, since they have fully booked appointments for today. I thought of giving a try by searching in youtube. Of all videos you clearly showed how to replace, your video is really helpful for first timers.
Thank you
Straight to the point, no wasted history of when the car was invented like other how-to videos. Hate those.
Excellent video Jason. Easy to follow. Thanks so much! Finished in less than 5 minutes
Awesome! Glad it helped. Thanks for taking the time to comment
Replaced both head lights today in my 2016 hybrid Avalon. Thanks for the tips!!!
You're welcome. Glad it went well!
Thank you for kindly teaching me in detail. God bless you!!!
Thanks, Yamok. God bless you as well
Very precise and detailed. Good job.
You're welcome!
Thanks for this video Jason. Walked me all the way though it.
Omg yesssss thank you. Will try this today!
You're welcome. How did it go?
@Jason's Honest How-to and Reviews I couldn't remove it. Autozone kids tried and couldn't either. Took the bulbs I bought from the store to the mechanic and he did it super easy like you and didn't charge me. He said he would appreciate a tip though so I gave him 40 bucks. The bulbs were 45. Total spent was 85. Not bad :).
Nice work Jason. You might want to make clear (in the title?) this video only applies to Avalon's with Halogen headlights. Replacement of HID bulbs (Limited model) is entirely different and the LED bulbs in other model are another animal entirely.
I bought my car a long time ago. How do I know if my car is limited model?
Great and simple. perfect video!!!!
Thanks, Wesley!
Do you know where the adjuster for the height of the bulb is? I can’t find it anywhere. Would be a great video to make as well. Not one out there 😅
Dude! Literally exactly what I needed. Thanks!!!
Even if you have HID lights like my 2013 Avalon Hybrid Limited it's still very easy to do. Just have a headlight to wear on your forehead to see easily, compact mirror and gloves. There is another video on YT that shows you how to replace HID's. It took me 15-20 min for each side because I took it very slow and couldn't figure out the springs on the first light but using a mirror I could see how they come out. The driver side is a little more compact to fit your hand down inside. Im a big guy and was able to replace both bulbs. One last thing. Just buy the Toyota brand bulbs. Mine lasted 9.5 years and I will prob not have to replace these for the rest of the life of this car. I've read other brands can go out in a few year.
Thank you!
Lifesaver, you are (Yoda) 😁. Thanks!
Welcome you are. For the comment, thanks ;)
Thank you dude 🙏🏻
You're welcome!
Kind of weird because my Avalon 2014 xle hybrid both passenger and driver side high/low beam LED bulbs are 3 and 9 o clock positions so their connector plugs are pointing straight down. If I have them diagonal like what you showed gives me incorrect beam pattern. But I hope you are also getting good pattern with your bulbs
Nope not mine . Mine are at a diagonal position also .
Hmm, that is interesting. They must have changed the design for some years and/or trim packages. Thanks for the feedback!
@@JasonsHonestReviews yeah 2013-2018 all trims other than limited and touring versions uses factory halogen bulbs which can be replaced with led and hid bulbs and those HID/LED need to be adjusted to 3 and 9 o clock positions. As for the factory limited and touring Avalon they use strcitly HID bulbs which can’t be replaced and new set cost over $500 😭.
Should you change all 4 bulbs at the same time? Only my left headlight is out
I've always just changed the one that went out, but some people will tell you to change them all
The low beams in my 2013 Avalon are working but are extremely dim. Suggestions?
Same. Get some LED replacements.
Wish you would do one for the front marker light, im trying to get it out now.
Hope you figured it out! Sorry for the slow reply. I don't have that car anymore so I'm not much help :(
thanks man. i just saved my money doing that.
"First, pop the trunk" I was confused very quickly
Whoops! Misspoke there. thanks!
Pop the trunk? Or the hood?
Whoops! Yep, pop the hood!
I’m having such a hard time changing it. I can’t get it snap out
Hmm... Might need to give it some elbow grease
Good job, thank you!
Thanks! I'm glad this helped you out.
Are you wearing an NFC ring? I think I have the same one
Thanks for the help man!
If anyone needs to know the same process works for a 2010 Avalon, but the new bulb may have a plastic ring that needs to be removed first before putting it back in. At least that’s what happened to me and it maysave you 40 minutes.
i notice all these headlight bulb replacements all do the left side because the right side is much more challenging. however i need to see how to do the right side in a toyota avalon. frustrating
I apologize, i should have shown that side. The process is the same - might just be a little trickier to get to.
Thank You
You're welcome, Omar!
2002 Toyota Avalon
My low beam looks nothing like this. It is completely different than the high beam
Hmm... What year is it? Very interesting
Was able to turn the bulb on the passenger side but couldn't remove it. Had to take it to the dealer and pay $24 labor.
That's not too bad - could be worse! Those brake and turn bulbs are hard
It's just hard to get good leverage in that small space, and the wires don't have much slack. There's probably some sort of specialty tool out there that would've done the job in an instant! Oh, well...good video, though!
@@JasonsHonestReviews
Yeah I guess so. Well glad you got it done
The car hes working on is exactly the same color as mine. So we should be the same.😅
Too funny!
Funny how it’s the same easy procedure as my 99 Avalon, nothing has changed for years 😂
I can’t find any of that in my trunk
Haha yeah I may have misspoke. Sorry about that!
First pop the "trunk!" :-)
Whoops... Yeah, don't pop the trunk 😯
I even took out the screw driver tool box seen the video started lmmfao.. litrally 2 min fix
Fyi its hood not trunk
Haaaa pop the trunk.....
Mines stuck
That's the high beam, not the low beam. Get your video straight
Thanks for clarifying - guess I mixed those up :(
Thank you
You're welcome!
