From what I've seen 10k was the "professional" version. We can but it for 2k + 150$ per month for support.
Still way out of reach for most parents.

The cost is to much for most families. It looks fragile and seems to do the same things I or therapists can teach.

Have you guys tried an AAC device? I feel like this robot could be a great introduction getting his attention span to last a little longer and navigating a tablet

There is a camera on his head, what's that for? Recording the child?

Yikes.... 2000$ plus 150$ per month... It's good to see technology being brought forward but we're still far from having access to it and quite frankly it doesn't look like it's worth THAT much....
Most of us can barely pay the specialists. That's really extra.

Do you worry about taking the social aspect of therapy will impact his social skills? Just a serious questions no hate on the robot I’m just curious. My son loves socialization but also lacks skills on HOW to socialize appropriately for his age.

As an autistic person that comes off kinda offensive. We have social skills but they differ than maybe yours.

Dear Ashley, Hope you are well and thanks for your question.
The idea is that the robot behaves in a simple, predictable, and non-judgemental way and removes the barrier of interaction and engagement. This way it can increase the child’s ability to engage in learning and opens an opportunity for teaching. Children often perceive QTrobot as a social character allowing us to engage them in practicing social skills in a way that is simplified and geared toward helping them to have a better understanding of the social situations, practice them step by step, and build confidence.
Because the robot is humanoid, the interactions are very close to human-to-human interaction. Also, to make sure that the social skills that children learn from QTrobot can easily be transferred to the child’s social interactions with other people, QTrobot directly asks the child to practice the skills with parents and educators, after practicing each skill a few times.
We have seen that children are really open to practice social skills with their parents when the robot asks them to and this way, they can easily understand that these skills are not just for interacting with the robot but they can be used with other people too.
Furthermore, we have seen that when using the robot in general, children have better joint attention with their human partner in the session and the robot works as a facilitator of interaction between the child and the human partner.
We would be happy to invite you to a live demo and be able to show you some of the examples of social skills we teach with QTrobot, so you can experience how we use the robot interaction to promote better social skills for daily living and learning.
You can book a live demo from the link here: luxai.com/autism-book-a-meeting/
      Kind regards,
      QTrobot team

@@oo-ob7ib I’m sorry you were offended. I’m not saying my son does not have social skills, I was simply stating they are not at age level. He’s very social, he just has a hard time playing with peers of his age in a school setting.. Im not sure how that got misconstrued but hope that makes better sense.

@@AshJ2203 It's just a matter of square peg in a round hole. Some things are skill and some are differences. Some parents see the differences as a problem or lack of skill, though.

@@oo-ob7ib socialization is a skill in my personal opinion. Yes, it doesn’t always look the same for every individual that’s true, but..it’s something that the more you do, the more you learn..children learn socialization through peers..and in that there are differences. That’s what makes us all unique is those difference. My son, does not understand certain facial or emotional cues..his peer will build a tower out of blocks, my son will knock them down and laugh, peer will cry that his tower was knocked down, my son will continue to smile because he thinks it’s funny not understanding he is crying because he is sad. I’d say my son is at the social age level of my 2 year old at the moment based on his responses to these situations. But, he is learning all the time and that’s okay for him not to be there yet, it’s a skill he struggles with at the moment is all I’m saying, Not that he has to fit into the mold or anything like that.
