    The mold questions are BS, if you have a bit of mold on something, then there is mold all over it. Like the marmalade example egg gave, just taking out half of it is not gonna do shit, you will still be eating mold. There is no difference from eating the visible mold to eating the invisible mold, so it’s just, do you eat mold (insane), or do you not eat mold (normal)

    • @JooJingleTHISISLEGIT
      @JooJingleTHISISLEGIT 6 місяців тому +17

      mm, to my memory that's only true for the marmalade mold question. mold doesn't permeate through solid foods like hard cheeses or fruits, it only does that for liquids. (edit: i looked it up, the more mold the deeper it's permeated; small amounts of mold on a denser food isn't too bad, but it gets more risky the more mold there is)

      I have cut off tiny bits of mold that are on a crust of bread and eating those slices for all of my life, and I am almost 50 years old. I’ve never gotten sick from doing that. The same goes for cheese. I think you are a little bit paranoid.

    • @Michael-kp4bd
      @Michael-kp4bd 6 місяців тому +4

      @@anti-ethniccleansing465 depends on the mold, and how much it’s been consuming the food. Some mold produce more significant mycotoxins, and depending on how deep they penetrate and where they deposit those mycotoxins, there’s a difference in risk that you’re consuming a significant amount of produced chemicals that can harm your body.

    • @Michael-kp4bd
      @Michael-kp4bd 6 місяців тому +7

      @@anti-ethniccleansing465 and you can further categorize mycotoxins by their effects. Some mainly just cause GI irritation/sickness in some individuals, like you probably assume. Others cause incremental kidney damage, liver damage, chronic immune suppression, and a few are simply carcinogens that mostly won’t make you sick, until… you know 🙂
      So I wouldn’t call it paranoid to avoid mold, but the most common ones _probably_ aren’t a big deal. And yeah there’s mold everywhere, and in moderation your body is usually fine.
      You can look into which foods are most subject to which type of mold (then maybe look at which ones are fine to “cut off”) and assess risk from there.

    soup hair opinion is surprising cause even finding one of my own hairs in my food ive made at home ruins my appetite, something in the lizard brain just thinks of it as a human waste product or something that should be avoided at all costs, maybe its just the experience of actually feeling a hair in your mouth. (And tbf i think, if its someone else's hair there's validity in avoiding that food.) Hair is definitely more gross than cooked meat, I'd even say meat itself isn't all that conceptually gross, it's just like more dense bread or something. However I do think is things like sinew or veins are definitely gross to notice or bite into.

    The mold questions were annoying because I don't find it _disgusting_ at all. I just know how it grows, it's at least mildly toxic/carcinogenic to ingest, and I have an allergic reaction if there's too much hidden away in the food. So I logically attempt to excise the appropriate amount of the food in question, or throw it away altogether, to avoid ingesting the mold.

      In Japan, growing fruits is seen kinda like an artform and many people take great care in growing them. Idk if that extends to whatever factory farm stores get strawberries from, or what chemicals they use, but culturally they like growing fruits more than other places

    man is CRACKED. A chef at a restaurant sampling with the same unwashed spoon is world's different from uncooked food--the chef is testing it when it's nearly or completely cooked. If they were tasting only raw meat and not tasting it after it was fully cooked it'd be a different story. It's cross contamination from the food itself, not the chef, for me

    Look I don't really have deep thoughts or insights or epiphanies often and they're more often in the shower or bed than like exercising but being so objective/dissociated/defeatist about problems that the idea of recontextualizing them and finding new solutions through that is completely incomprehensible to him is insane to me. Bro the kinda guy to think all problems have binary positive or negative answers/solutions I guess? Really feels weird considering how introspective he can be.
