    Thank you for sharing. I married a nurse. We hired a financial advisor as soon as we got our licenses as nurses. Listened to free library finance Audiobooks that you suggested while driving to work. We’re debt free with fully funded emergency fund, maxing out retirement contributions and IRAs, two kids with 529 plan, giving to church and charities, traveling to places of interest, almost done paying off our mortgage from tax free passive income and still very passionate about our nursing careers ❤ Save-Give-Spend 👍

Can you get to the same level of OT pay or does it only work with 8 hr shifts? What’s the difference between if I was to work every day for a year on an 8 hour shift compare to a 12 hr shift. TIA!

    Im literally living paycheck to paycheck . Thinking about getting a second job as an rn. Just got accepted into np school. With your advice, should I build my nursing skills as an rn more andcwork a second part time rn job or should i just go into np school? I have a year of outpatient surgery experience and a couple of weeks of tele experience.

    • @supreme5998
      @supreme5998 Рік тому +1

      Depends on what your expectations are for being an NP. Because clinics cram schedules and make it so providers have a certain rate to meet each day on patient quota. That means you get like 20 minutes with each patient and then move on to the next. You're like a diagnosis machine and there's no time to build relationships, care about your patients, or anything else. Do you think nursing ratios are bad? provider ratios are even worse.

    Hi there, I have a question for you. I live in a different state and want to move to Cali in the next two years. What kind of hospital experience would help me in getting a job in a hospital such as yours? Would experience in a med surg department help, or is it better to have ICU experience?

I am wondering if it would be worth it to fly there just to work a few shifts to increase your income?

    I'm going to have to disagree with your statement about your traditional 401k.
    IMO its better to get a Roth 401k and pay for your taxes up front from the salary you earn that year.
    Because when you retired and its time to pull that money out,
    you will not be taxed on that money you pull out. Remember cost of living will go up,
    So thats more money you will have by the time you retire and most likely be on a fixed income.

    • @NursesToRiches
      @NursesToRiches  Рік тому +1

      But cost of living is not the same as tax rate. When you invest in you're 401k you end up paying taxes later but your money will compound tax-free until then and you pay fewer taxes prior to retirement because of you're investing into then 401k. However, if you believe your tax rate will be higher in retirement, then that's what the Roth would be for. But you are paying for the Roth with after-tax dollar and your taxed income isn't going to benefit from being taxed at a lower rate like the 401k. We also cannot predict what the tax rate will be when we retire. For example, the federal tax rate was as high as 90% in the 60s and has continued to fall every decade since then.

  • @Coffeecrystalsandtarot
    @Coffeecrystalsandtarot Рік тому

    If you do a pre-tax account for your retirement, then later you will be charged for retirement. IRA is better if you have kids, since most likely you’ll be taxed more then the time would come to take taxes out when you retire.
