I completely agree, Instagram has totally changed in the last few years and in my opinion it has become toxic and especially the digital art world has suffered a lot. I personally used to feel a lot more joy and consistency in posting work, they were able to have good interactions but lately everything has dropped dramatically. There are very few interactions, it almost seems like people don't see what I post anymore and that makes you fall into discouragement, also because you spend so many hours in creations. In any case, I don't want to stop creating or posting what I like because of an algorithm, but we definitely need to integrate other skills or other ways of communicating and riding the wave. Most of the people don’t see it anymore, unless it’s a Reel which is shared a lot. The engagement made the whole platform like a fun place to share your work. Now, almost no engagement, it just feels dead. But definitely keep creating, IG shouldn’t stop anyone from enjoying their passion. Just sad that the “reward” part of sharing and engaging is gone. The engagement also was a big helper for knowing which work you created was good. Thanks for watching 🙏
It's not just the algorithm that puts me off. It's the constant dictating of what format you can post in, Posts sizes! Reels ratio and length! Stories ffs! I get fed up of not being able to share full images or 16:9 ratio because of what the platform dictates. I know there's ways around it, like using Canva to put things in a template, but why should I?
I use to call IG a happy place to see creative reels and photos from friends, but now it takes work to weed through all the noise. I'm posting less and less, and putting in way less effort to create for that platform.
I now only use both Instagram and Facebook for gathering information on certain events and keeping in touch with friends. I have removed all my content from the last 15+ years and locked everything down. I might try and concentrate on UA-cam (I have had an account for years and post stuff occasionally) or I might just carry on enjoying my photography again for myself.
Would be great if it was more of a images platform like it used to be. But IG wants to be like TikTok these days. Good luck with the videos, I also enjoy working on videos more. So much still to learn in that direction
Oh, man you right😢 especially for tattoo artists it's dead, but unfortunately it's only platform to reach your local customers. Don't think that youtube can be competitive especially if I just want to do my job, not videos. And it's good reason for me is put money in some other business not in ads.

Looks like we’re all in the same boat. It’s now full of trash reels and not much creativity left. For me it became just a waste of time.
