    to be honest I liked the sound of paganthron. the playing and riffs were sloppy but the mix actually sounded sick for me

      Man, that's the beauty of this, what sucks for me it's awesome for you and the other way around, I actually kinda want to exploit this on a separate video, like what's actually bad... or good....

      @farewellmyheart I really love the deepness of it, I would trade the "depressive" for nostalgic though, since honestly that term doesn't sit right with me, but it's almost meditative if you go for a walk a listen to some dsbm on a rainy day

    That death metal band was really great and I know you were really harsh on the black metal band I like it from The Stance of I listened to a lot of noise Rock and no wave. So stuff that's kind of off-kilter like Arab on radar or Aids wolf along those lines and then if you make it where it's like an extremity I appreciate it in that sort of form so I don't mind if guitars are Out Of Tune but I have to listen to the entire thing to really tell what I heard on the sample there would be enough for me to go okay let me give this a shot which I will later on today after my recording session

    • @headbangfridays
      @headbangfridays  7 днів тому +2

      The thing for me is when the line gets a bit too-blurry and gray from raw to ¨we didn't rehearse and I'm too lazy to tune my instrument¨
      I get noise, and I get arab on radar (which they actually play on time, despite being noise). But IMHO this BM band sounds just lazy and unprepared... but anyways it's just my opinion.
      Just not my cup o` tea.

    • @ShaolinLambKiller
      @ShaolinLambKiller 7 днів тому +1

      @headbangfridays yeah no I totally understand that because you do have to be consistent with it. That's why I said like it it intrigues me enough because I've only heard the small samples I did not listen to an entire song yet which might make it more glaringly obvious. I'm glad that you know who Arab on radar was I went and saw them in New Orleans in 2002 at One-Eyed Jack's with the Locust

      @ShaolinLambKiller Awesome! Honestly I think I will make a video specifically about that, because honestly It's quite a subject, like at the end of the day what really defines a "bad" or " good" band, there's no such thing as a rule, just like you rhere are other who dig that band, I know I kinda threw the BM band under the bus... 😬
      It actually reminds me of a class I had once, where an orchestra was playing a play from an "avantgarde" composer... It was noise, like literally, but the interesting fact was that everyone had their score...
      I think I will open that pandora box on a video, the comment section will be a free for all deathmatch 😂😂

      @headbangfridays well I'm all here for it and look forward to it.
      I enjoy all types including noise like musical concrete and harsh wall noise and have created both along with some drone vaporware style stuff.

    Couldn't agree more about "performance will hold up through production" you can have the best production but if the performance and editing isn't there it will still sound like complete crap!
    Edit: Okay- that being said, nothing can help out Gorehouse though.

    • @headbangfridays
      @headbangfridays  7 днів тому +1

      @@TonehengeProductions yeah, it's a bit controversial I know... I think I will create a video specifically about this theme, this way we can kill each other on the comments haha, but yeah, personally for me I can bypass a crappy production if the performance is on point... But once again, it's a grey area...

    • @TonehengeProductions
      @TonehengeProductions 7 днів тому +1

      @@headbangfridays Haha now THAT is a comment section I can look forward to! Totally agree, don't get me wrong I can deal with some VERY rough production and still enjoy something. Some 1349 and Immortal albums come to mind, but there is a fine line when it becomes "too rough" for me.
      I feel like it might be kind of like a pain tolerance, everyone has their own acceptable levels of trash production they can accept before tapping out.
