    My heart drops every time the dogs get too close to any moving machinery 😮‍💨
    Nice to have an extra episode, Thanks

      I do watch them and if they look like they get too close I do call them away, you don’t hear it though because I edit it out.

    Cor, we’re getting a lot of Wardy this week! Nice treat for a Friday night on the sofa with a glass of decent red, a bar of chocolate and my lovely cat on my lap! Great footage of the cleaner in operation. Looking forward to Sunday’s video!

    Great video as usual. Amazing what difference a few dry days makes. If my beet looked anywhere near as clean as yours in the heap I’d load it straight over the side of the lorry - forget the cleaner loader.

    • @WardysWaffleAndrewWard
      @WardysWaffleAndrewWard  6 місяців тому

      We never load over the side, even when bone dry, we always get some soil out. We got no end out of the last heap. I’ll go through the beet figures in the next video.

    Well done for being able to get on abit with the land work. Been watching Farmer Stephen on UA-cam and he using a Ropa Maus a Self Propelled Sugar Beet Loader, an impressive bit of kit.

      @laytonphillips6667 That’s good, we used to get up to 110 litres / hour with our 620 Quad!! That’s one of the reasons we swapped for the 8 RX, it uses 70 litres with the same machine on the back!

    Liked the spirit levels on the solo, might steal that idea, was it successful ?
    Shame about the extra culti press pass, what would that cost ? Some times peace of mind has to be considered. No good wishing you'd carried out that extra pass when the combine won't pick up off undeveloped ground.
    Looking forward to weaving footage. Tine drills don't work for us, too much stone.

    Great Video Andrew, My only concern with the solo is the "split" discs at the front, is suspect the "fast" discs don't need to skill to set them up for level beds, the sugar beet was very interesting, thanks for sharing

    Hi Andrew
    We in Australia have started a Senate inquiry into price gouging from the two major supermarkets Coles and Woolworths.
    Interviews in front of a Senate committee began on Wednesday in Tasmania.
    Most of us will be invited to contribute incamera and anonymous as not to be picked off by the supermarket buyers in April
    School packs of apples are being sold for $1 and are on the supermarket shelves for $3.50 and there is a bidding process to be able to supply and only the lowest price is expected by the supermarkets.
    All sales to supermarkets are below the price of production for every commodity in fruit and vegetables and of course meat.
    Rural Australian is on its knees.
    Shooting new borne lambs as there is no feed and the returns if you did will not pay for it. Prices at the sale yards is $3 per head and the fright is $5 per head so you do the maths.
    We have been receiving $0.66 per kilo back to the farm gate for apples and they are on the supermarket shelves for $7.00 a kg and people can’t afford them.
    We in Australia may have to take some tips from the French farmers, it is going to get interesting.
    Regards from Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺

      @WardysWaffleAndrewWard  6 місяців тому

      Very interesting, thanks for that. We need to be doing something similar but our government don’t seem interested despite the supermarkets publishing record profits year on year.

    Great to see you getting the beet away Andrew, what’s your view about the merger between Tate & Lyle and Whitworths ? Will it help or hinder the market as far as growers are concerned that supply British Sugar, maybe you could voice your thoughts on one of your updates
    Have a great weekend

    what do they use all that sugar beets for?

    • @WardysWaffleAndrewWard
      @WardysWaffleAndrewWard  6 місяців тому

      Sugar. English sugar beet is processed by British Sugar and ends up in a Silver Spoon bag. The by product is used for livestock feed so there’s zero waste. Foreign sugar cane ends up in a Tate & Lyle bag.
