  • Demonstration of a Quooker Fusion Round combination constant hot water and mixer tap (faucet). For on demand constant hot water at 100 degrees C, plus the additional benefit of a stylish integrated contemporary mixer tap. The round tap spout is an arched swan neck style with a chrome stainless steel finish. The demonstration took place at the new Innerform showroom in Heaton Chapel, Stockport.
    UK List Price including 20% VAT for tap shown is £1,150.00 + £90 for the optional brushed chrome finish, total £1,240 (£1033 net of Vat). Please get in touch using contact details below if you wish to purchase one.
    Mixer Tap (Faucet) Features and Operation:
    The mixer tap handle is operated by this lever.
    It is connected to the standard hot and cold water supply.
    Up and down to vary the water volume flow rate.
    Move from side to side to vary the temperature.
    To the right is cold mains water.
    To the left is hot water at around 65 degrees from our conventional gas combi-boiler.
    In the middle it is warm enough to wash your hands.
    Constant Hot Water Tap (Faucet) Features and Operation:
    There is a separate handle for the constant hot water tap at 100 degrees.
    It is child proof.
    You will notice it has a textured knurled surface for a good grip.
    The Red LED Light shows instantly when you touch the handle.
    To Operate, press the handle down twice, keep down and turn anti- clockwise.
    Turn clockwise to release the handle and stop the flow.
    You can see the steam builds up into a small cloud.
    This Quooker tap can be fitted to a new kitchen or retrofitted to an old kitchen. All you need is a hole in the worktop, a base unit and, a water and electrical power supply.
    This Tap is connected to a Tank underneath the base unit and is fitted neatly under the suspended base unit. The tank version shown is the PRO3, which has a 3 litre water capacity.
    The stainless steel tank looks like a vacuum flask and is a very efficient insulator. If you touch the outer cylinder it feels cold even though the contents are boiling hot water.
    All you need is a 240V power supply (for the UK) and a cold water feed. Once it's connected, you can see the red LED light is on all the time.
    Just leave it powered on 24/7. It is so efficient it hardly uses any electricity.
    If the constant hot water tap is left running it will eventually go cold, because there is not enough time to heat up the water. In a normal household this is very unlikely. To overcome this capacity problem in a busy kitchens. There are larger 7 and 11 litre versions, which are designed really for commercial installations (which we have installed in offices).
    BTW. The kitchen cabinets and furniture is the Kubic range made by Italian kitchen manufacturer Euromobil. The fronts are glossy tempered glass. The work surface is LG HiMACS, very similar to Corian with a Blanco undermount, rectangular stainless steel sink which is 550mm wide x 400mm deep.

    Glad you put in a safety mechanism. My first thought was about how dangerous this could be. It looks really practical! Unfortunately the water in my town is very hard so it's probably not feasible in my hometown.

      Chronox5 you can install a water filter in line with the cold water supply. These guys are specialists in the UK www.aquamatic.co.uk/ , have a look at the brands they supply and maybe find a local distributor.

    Would you recommend it for professional usage in a coffee shop? Since the temperature is fixed constantly at 100 degrees and in my opinion it's a bit to high to brew a good cup of coffee. Again it's just a question for professional usage.

      +George Giannoulis you would need to use a French Press coffee making method with this tap and you would have to check the optimum water temperature. In a professional workplace, I would recommend a larger volume water tank like the Pro7 or Pro11 www.quooker.co.uk/enuk/collection/Tanks/PRO7-VAQ/164#AoiaG4JAOF40xP17.97

    Hi Kevin, thank you, great video. I have a question about the tap lever. I have the tap fitted recently and the lever has got some play, I mean is a bit loose, the trader says it is normal, but my friend has same one which is not loose.Do you know if this can be fixed?

      I had the same problem with this display tap, and Quooker replaced the complete tap free of charge. I think it might have been a problem with a batch of them. If it's within warranty, you might be able to claim.

    You say this runs off a 3 amp fuse? Are you sure? It's a 2900watt device ie nearly 3kw which I assume must require a 13amp fuse?

    • @KevinLargeInnerform
      @KevinLargeInnerform  9 років тому

      declankh sorry my mistake it comes with a sealed plug containing a 13 Amp fuse for the UK market. FYI, I created the video in one take and it's unedited, except for when I paused the camera to show the cylinder under the cabinet.

    Would you recommend it to people with young children?

    • @KevinLargeInnerform
      @KevinLargeInnerform  9 років тому +3

      Raymond, that's a good question and asked a lot. The Quooker Fusion has been designed to be "child proof". To be able to operate the tap a person needs a certain amount of strength to press the button down, then good coordination to double press it twice and turn counter clockwise, almost instantly. No very young child will have developed these sets of skills. I have taught my 7 year old boy to operate the tap when he comes into the showroom, but he does struggle to remember the coordinated technique. My 2 year old daughter certainly cannot operate the hot water tap, however she is intelligent enough to tip over a linen basket to climb on top of it to operate a conventional tap. Once a child has reached a development age to figure out the operation, then I'd say they are aware enough to know that boiling hot water is dangerous and to be avoided - similarly at this age they become aware of all the other potential hazards in a modern home. As a parent myself, this tap does not worry me.

    there are cheaper versions out there by mickiemouses.
    #but how much does YOUR version cost?

    • @KevinLargeInnerform
      @KevinLargeInnerform  9 років тому

      ***** the price in the comments above is still valid. Quooker are the original company that invented this 'genre' of product. You're right there are 'plenty' of confusing copies out there. The only alternative I'd consider is the www.zipheaters.co.uk/zip-hydrotap but it is more expensive and in my humble opinion looks a bit clunky. I supplied a DOMBC3A "All-inOne filtered boiling and chilled water PLUS hot and cold supply from mains connected tap" for a high specification office project last year and the List Price was £2,250+vat.
      FYI, I had a 'Blanco Hot Tap' on display for a while and it didn't produce portable water. It became a long story. Blanco sent and Engineer out to replace it, but still had the same bad taste. In the end Blanco withdrew the product from the market after realising it is not easy to imitate.

    I beleve that you can't have sockets next to water pips like that, this is a death trap? If my plumber put this in like this I think he would be in very real trouble

    • @KevinLargeInnerform
      @KevinLargeInnerform  7 років тому +4

      Quooker taps should be installed according to best practices in the jurisdiction you habitat. In the UK, an Electrician is responsible for the electrical installation. The outlet socket in the video is wired to an MCB circuit breaker; if water were to seep into the socket, the breaker would trip. A Building Regulations Part P certificate was issued on completion of the Innerform showroom.
