Many beautiful photographs! Thank you for sharing this. In 1994 or 1995 I bought a new black Nikon FM2N and it was such a great camera. I still have it! Simple and without unnecessary technology. A good light meter easy to read even in dark conditions. And a mechanical camera that only needs batteries for the light meter. I could even take photos at 2 AM in the cemeteries of Patzcuaro, Mexico for the Day of the Dead! I have fond memories of the camera because it helped me to see more and took look more intently and to be aware more in the present moment. And with a 250th of a second flash synch speed, I could take photographs in the day using fill flash in sunny places like Hialeah, Florida. The Nikon FM2N camera gave me an excuse to see more and participate more in the world. Later, I came to question the photograph because of its innate, inherent failures: it only records the surface of things. I like the photos of Duane Michaels and Robert Frank where they write on photographic prints. And images by William Klein who painted on his photographic prints. Those images recognize the limitations of the frame and the limitations of the photographic record. Well, enough of my memories. The memories FM2 left for you and me are so beautiful. I like Robert Frank too. His photos are very durable, like olives, which can be savored for a long time.
I don't know what it is about your videos--they always bring a smile to my face. Maybe it's your beautiful accent. (I don't know any Japanese but I do like listening to it, like you enjoy listening to German). Or maybe it's because you are so knowledgeable about photography. I learn something new with every one of your videos. And your pictures are absolutely stunning. I've been looking for a reasonably priced FM2 for a while, but after watching several of your videos, you're making me hesitate. Maybe I should get a Nikon F3 instead.
I just stumbled upon your channel. Some very nice stories with some great photos. I like how you changed the shutter sound when you switched from Nikon to the Leica. Your description of both the Leica design and the German language, were on point.
„Without any unnecessary. Like the german language.“ Not the best description of my mother language... In fact it is quite sophisticated. I own a FM2 and I am very happy with it. Your selection of photos was great and the music very nice.
Love your presentation. The music is perfect. I always took two FM2 cameras for Northern Lights displays in the Pacific NW. They never let me down. My favorite lens was the Nikkor 28mm F2 and favorite (now discontinued) film was Provia 400F.

Sorry to hear your f3 was stolen, I have and love my fm2, but also have the fe2, f4s and f5 all wonderful cameras but never owned the f3 maybe one day, one I would recommend if you want to stay light and is an amazing camera is the fe2, just does everything, anyway all the best in finding your next camera cheers.
interesting video about Nikon FM2 and some discussion of Leica M series rangefinders. I also enjoy the FM2 and found it to be reliable, easy handling with a very accurate light meter. The FM2 is probably my lightest to carry of all my 35mm cams. I also use a Leica M3 with a Voigtlander 50mm Nokton lens--producing some of the sharpest photos. Every film photographer has his or her preference for a favorite cam, and it comes down to experience and much practice. 😊
