Personally I Love sabotage I think it's his best vocal performance out of any album and that album cover you gotta love 😉 And yes review every maiden album
Sabotage was the first album that Black Sabbath put out that got them paid and went around their mob connected asshole manager and Ozzy's late father in law, Don Arden. They never made a dime from their first 4 albums.
I thought Ozzy’s vocals on the entire Ordinary Man album were excellent. 13 is one of my favorite Sabbath albums. I am going to have to listen to again to see if I can hear the vocal issue you mentioned on it. Rick Rubin has ruined a lot of otherwise great albums (Slipknot Vol 3 and Metallica Death Magnetic).
As a huge Ronnie James Dio fan, I have to admit that the four albums with him are my four favorite Sabbath albums. I totally agree that Dehumanizer and The Devil You Know are insanely underrated and appreciated. I think Mob Rules did have some really good songs like Turn Up the Night, Sign of the Southern Cross and Falling Off the Edge of the World. I listened to Born Again one time and I will never choose to subject my ears to that torture again. I agree, that album was garbage. How about reviewing all of Kreator's albums? I am going to give you a very unpopular opinion and tell you that my personal favorite is Outcast. Most fans don't consider it their worst but it certainly doesn't rank near the top. I tell people to listen to it again maybe while driving as a heavy metal record rather than a Kreator one. Just a thought; take care, man.
Ooo! That would be neat. I'd be down, love me some Kreator. Their modern material is super under-rated and honestly I dig "Outcast" too. And you too man! \m/
@@themetalmeltdownofficial Good to know I am not alone. I dont see how any metalhead being completely honest with themselves can listen to Leave This World Behind, Enemy Unseen and Stronger Than Before, and not headbang while flashing the horns.
Born again`s mixing made me not like it,if the album had better mixing it would be better,Zero the hero is probably the best song on it,if only Dio stayed born again probably wouldve ended up being better
@@dynamo4543 Now THAT I cant disagree with. When they parted ways with Ozzy, you could tell the band needed a "reboot." They were still going strong with Dio after only two albums. Who knows what kind of music we would have gotten if he had stayed on a while longer.
I fucking _love_ The Devil You Know. It is my favorite one by Black Sabbath/Heaven and Hell. Follow The Tears is _so fucking _*_heavy_* holy fuck is the album so _good_ .
1. Headless 2. Born Again 3. Sabotage 4. Paranoid 5. Heaven and Hell The magic of Sabbath is how they managed to release killer albums in every era of the band.
13 made me cry tears of joy AND pain. I loved that they made it, but also bummed at the overproduced vocals. That said, it remained in my car CD player for months.
Good video as usual. Since you talked about Dio, I'd love for you to talk about his time in Rainbow. To me, they were the OG Power Metal band: Epic keyboards, fast drums, larger-than-life riffs, soaring vocals, fantasy-themed lyrics. They were Helloween before Helloween. Stargazer is one of the greatest pieces of music ever created.
Love your video!!! I've been listening to Black sabbath for now nearly 40 years or so. My opinion is a little different than yours but that's the beauty of individuality amongst metal fans 😀 1) I love Sabotage (Megalomania and The Writ are so damn great) 2) I love Never say Die (very jazzy and with Johnny Blade one of their greatest songs) 3) I think Mob Rules is better than Heaven & Hell (so damn doomy and my God how great is Country Girl) 4) Born Again is their evilest album and so good. It's reminiscent of their debut. Very underrated. 5) I love Forbidden for being so damn jazzy
1 Black Sabbath: Debut is brilliant and no Metal would ever exist without it 9.7/10 2 Paranoid: Great album, I can see why this is considered the greatest metal record ever 10/10 3 Master of Reality: The Perfect Heavy Metal/Stoner Doom Album. 10/10 4 Vol 4: I loved the Experimentation, this is a very ambitious album I love this album I do really like Changes. 10/10 5 Sabbath Bloody Sabbath: I actually think this album is underrated. Not the best from this era but I still do Like it 8.5/10 6 Sabotage: This is when Sabbath went down hill. It’s pretty ok. The album cover is TERRIBLE 7.5/10 7 Technical Ecstasy : This album is REALLY boring, this sounds like A Boring version of Deep Purple. 3.5/10 8 Never Say Die: The behind the scenes reflects on this album. The band can’t stand this album and I get why I can’t stand this album 1/10 9 Heaven and Hell: This is probably my 2nd favorite Sabbath record ever behind Master of Reality. Dio re-energized Black Sabbath 10/10 10 Mob Rules: This is a Great Follow up to Heaven for me. I am impressed with the level of professionalism on the album reviews. I would rather have someone who views albums on the legitimate quality of the product than these reviews which someone says it's a killer album fucking buy it dude. There's way too many fanboy amateur praise reviews, it's nice to actually see a Metal Magazine journalist type of review for a change
The mad lad did it! I love early 70s Sabbath. I totally agree with Paranoid being 5/5. War Pigs is easily one of my favorite songs. I also really like Heaven and Hell too (another 5/5 for me), but admittedly I sort of stop paying attention after that release.

I came here to hear what you have to say about Paranoid, possibly my favourite album of all times. Good! Great episode in general, although I disagree completely with your take on Sabbath Bloody Sabbath - and Fluff in particular. P.S.: Seventh Star is listed on the video as released in 2020. Just pointing out.
Wish I could've seen the video yesterday, but I had too much schoolwork. Your review of Born Again was really funny. I do kind of feel the same way, but maybe a little less negatively. But one question though, what's the thing that's making Master of Reality a 9 instead of a 10? And I also have a few requests for later videos. How about reviewing all Carcass and Death records?
Truthfully, it just comes down to me preferring "Paranoid" ultimately over "Master Of Reality". I also try to be very careful when giving out a 5/5, just in general, and two in one video, even for a band like Black Sabbath, seems a bit much. And reviewing all the Death and Carcass stuff would be fantastic! Two of my favourite bands. Will definitely consider that in the future!
I truly love the music of Black Sabbath. I differ with most folks on Born Again and Forbidden; I’d give them a 4/5 and 3.5/5, respectively. The Devil You Know is awesome, of course. If I had to pick a couple of “least favorites,” they’d be Technical Ecstasy, Sabotage, and Tyr.
Years late, but it's not true Heaven & Hell couldn't use the Sabbath name for the tour and The Devil You Know. Ozzy's case against Iommi was in 2010, not 2009, so the tour and album predate that. Iommi says they decided to not call it Black Sabbath so that fans didn't expect them to play the 70s stuff, since the idea was just to play songs from the Dio era. That's why they named the album The Devil You Know and has the Black Sabbath devil logo: different name, but you know who they are.
Mostly agreed but I'd pump up 13 to a 3/5. It's a decent record overall and Ozzy's vocals don't annoy me that much because I grew up listening to Ozzmosis.
Sure Love! Your take. Super cool. Really well thought out. Strong point of view. Awesome! Vol 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath n Sabatoge Just rule! For me. But your take Rules!
Great reviews. I'm glad you shit all over Born Again, I never liked that fucking album since day 1. Also on Cross Purposes, only song I really liked was Cross of Thorns. You should do Candlemass or Pentagram's albums! 🤘🤘
5. Forbidden 4. The Eternal Idol 3. Cross Purposes 2. Tyr 1. Headless Cross I know it's unpopular opinion, but the Tony Martin albums are master pieces. Unpopular opinion: Tony Martin is far better than Ozzy and Dio.
Hello! I think that best album in Black Sabbath is their first six albums I mean Black Sabbath - Sabotage. And i really like Black Sabbath 13 album in 2013.
1. Sabotage 2. Vol. 4 3. Heaven & Hell 4. Master Of Reality 5. Black Sabbath 6. Mob Rules 7. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 8. Technical Ecstacy (underrated af) 9. Never Say Die (underrated af) 10. Dehumanizer 12. Paranoid (it's low on the list because i've heard the majority of the tunes way too much) 13. The Devil You Know 14. Cross Purposes 15. Eternal Idol 16. Tyr 17. Headless Cross 18. Born Again 19. Forbidden 20. 13 (complete pooh) 21. Seventh Star (complete pooh)
in my opinion, the thing that makes heaven and hell not their best album is the production. i always found it kinda small, and closed in relative to what it needed to be. i feel like apart from the vocal production, it just doesnt hit as hard as it should.
Great review. I like all the Black Sabbath albums, but Forbidden and 13 are not very impressive. Born Again had a demo quality production, and too many sound effects tracks. I'd like to see reviews of Morbid Angel, Deeds of Flesh, and Cirith Ungol
Great listen as ever. But wow dude! Two out of five four Sabbath bloody sabbath! Well, it's my favorite black Sabbath record. Takes all sorts I guess. Kind of agree about born again, sadly, I wish it had worked out better, since I love deep purple about as much as I love black Sabbath and in theory the combination should have been cool, but not at all compatible as it turns out! I feel like Ian Gillen must have been so drunk during this recording. As for the album 13, I really hate it. For me that's the worst one, just disingenuous attempts to capture the vibe of paranoid and master of reality. I wish they had just gone out with a bang and done something unexpected and made use of their instrumental skills and maybe just dialed Ozzy back a little bit and using the vocal sparseley, it could have worked. And not trying so hard to pretend it's 1971 again. Or at least not being so obvious about it. I mean yeah, planet caravan was great, but do we really need to hear a near carbon copy on the album?
Just listened to Born Again today! I really really like that album. The ambiance, the sound (I found a CD issue that brings clarity to the mix), the title song, the little interludes, the evil af looking cover, etc. I dunno, I think I am a Born Again fan
I finally listened to Heaven and Hell recently. Not good. Give me that old Ozzy Sabbath. Idk what it is, but Dio just comes off so corny to me. I listened to Rising, Heaven and Hell, and Holy Diver all in a row, and none of it stuck with. I think Tenacious D runined Dio for me. Dio's lyrics and melodies remind me of Jack Black doing a comedic performance.
Interesting reviews of these albums. Unusual to find a Sabbath fan who does not care for Sabotage. Funny how polarizing Born Again is, my like and dislike of that album has changed thru the years. I probably like the early 80s albums with Dio the most, but think that Master of Reality and Paranoid are likely better albums. I think everyone pretty much agrees that Forbidden is a piece of crap and the low point. I think my dark horse pick is Seventh Star, love me some Glenn Hughes!
First four record are the benchmark of so much coming 10-20-30-40-50 years later. love Sabbath bloody sabbath and Sabotage as well. The two last records with Ozzy is kinda meh for me. Love Dio, but never been a Sabbath/Dio guy though, great records, but after the first four Sabbath albums that defines the sound of the band not my thing really, think the shitty Live Evil killed it for me. Should really listen to the last parts of Sabbath a bit more, but once again, the benchmark etc All lineups of Sabbath were good in there own way, but Ozzy sabbath will always be my bag. Thanks for a very good video mate
Ok...cool that you did a list...gotta say that I didn't agree with much...but...all good...anything by Tony Martin ( no offence to him..fine voice, but still a Dio wanna be..albeit with an extra gear)...cannot be ranked higher than any ozzy sabbath...if you love DIo's sabbath..cool enough...I saw them both solo live in their prime, and they were both great..(84, 86 95 for ozzy 85 for Dio)...I really liked sabbath bloody sabbath through never say die more than you.. Sabatage is a 5 out of 5...so I don't know...symptom of the universe might be my favourite ozzy track...he sounds killer...anyway Tony Martin's sabbath barely counts....thanks...cheers
P.s.s...I just listened to headless cross again to see if was being unfair....a dio copy with a Geoff tate gear...spewing crucifix cliches...not good...rather go see the real singers..(and I did) than this tribute act...
Can you please do a review without all the overdramatic , hitting your hand , long pause crap please. You have great reviews, but the over dramatic stuff makes them unwatchable.
To me Black Sabbath is with Ozzy Osbourne. H&H, Mob Rules and Dehumanizer are good albums I enjoy, but not THE Black Sabbath. The rest I honestly haven’t even bothered trying to listen to.
@@themetalmeltdownofficial I'v never listend to an albem from them either, but I have listned to select tracs ever since I heard about some of their work being featured in an 1985 anime film by the name of Odin: Photon Sailer Starlight. Two tracks from the film, "Gotta Fight" and "Odin" were in the 2005 remastered edition of the 1985 album Thunder in the East. From what I heard of Loudness, I think you might like them.
Though I personally love Born Again with all my heart, your criticism is TOTALY valid I must admit I think it’s because we who love it see past the hot garbage mixing and dog shit production and see the intended vision Tony and Ian had, and that vision was a MONSTER of a metal album Zero the Hero is a FAT fucking riff, and it’s so simple, hiding in plain sight. Anyone who’s ever picked up guitar has played those three notes accidentally or otherwise and they turned it into a dark, head banging, anthem

Really well thought out. Strong point of view.
Awesome!
Vol 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath n Sabatoge
Just rule! For me.
But your take
Rules!
Great reviews. I'm glad you shit all over Born Again, I never liked that fucking album since day 1. Also on Cross Purposes, only song I really liked was Cross of Thorns. You should do Candlemass or Pentagram's albums! 🤘🤘
5. Forbidden
4. The Eternal Idol
3. Cross Purposes
2. Tyr
1. Headless Cross
I know it's unpopular opinion, but the Tony Martin albums are master pieces. Unpopular opinion: Tony Martin is far better than Ozzy and Dio.
Hello! I think that best album in Black Sabbath is their first six albums I mean Black Sabbath - Sabotage. And i really like Black Sabbath 13 album in 2013.
1. Sabotage
2. Vol. 4
3. Heaven & Hell
4. Master Of Reality
5. Black Sabbath
6. Mob Rules
7. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
8. Technical Ecstacy (underrated af)

10. Dehumanizer
12. Paranoid (it's low on the list because i've heard the majority of the tunes way too much)
13. The Devil You Know
14. Cross Purposes
15. Eternal Idol
16. Tyr
17. Headless Cross
18. Born Again
19. Forbidden
20. 13 (complete pooh)
21. Seventh Star (complete pooh)
in my opinion, the thing that makes heaven and hell not their best album is the production. i always found it kinda small, and closed in relative to what it needed to be. i feel like apart from the vocal production, it just doesnt hit as hard as it should.
Sabotage rating was insane
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is in my top three. Brilliant album.
I always thought digital bitch was referring to the computer taking over the place of woman lol
Top 5. Paranoid, Vol 4, Master of Reality, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Heaven and Hell.
it´s not ozzy´s lyrics - it´s Geezer´s
I don't know why people crap all over Born Again. I like it. There are a couple bangers on that album.
Just listened to Born Again today! I really really like that album. The ambiance, the sound (I found a CD issue that brings clarity to the mix), the title song, the little interludes, the evil af looking cover, etc.
I dunno, I think I am a Born Again fan
Its all good man, to each their own \m/
Master of Reality, Vol. 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage are great albums. I would definitely ranked them higher.
Spot on.
Black Sabbath 3.5/5
Paranoid 4/5
Master of reality 5/5
Vol 4 3.5/5
Sabbath bloody sabbath 2.5/5
Sabotage 3.5/5
Technical ecstasy 1.5/5
Never say die 1/5
Heaven and hell 5/5
Mob rules 5/5
Born again 4/5
Seventh star 3/5
Eternal idol 3/5
Headless cross 5/5
TYR 5/5
Dehumanizer 3.5/5
Cross purposes 3/5
Forbidden 3/5
13 1/5
I love Born Again! That album is evil as fuck!
Ah, it's a shame you weren't as enthusiastic about Sabotage as I am. That, to me, is their best record.
1. black sabbth
2. sabbth bloody sabbth
3. paranoid
4. masters of re
edit : 2 is heven and hell some how I forgot this master peace
First four record are the benchmark of so much coming 10-20-30-40-50 years later.
love Sabbath bloody sabbath and Sabotage as well.
The two last records with Ozzy is kinda meh for me.
Love Dio, but never been a Sabbath/Dio guy though, great records, but after the first four Sabbath albums that defines the sound of the band not my thing really, think the shitty Live Evil killed it for me.
Should really listen to the last parts of Sabbath a bit more, but once again, the benchmark etc
All lineups of Sabbath were good in there own way, but Ozzy sabbath will always be my bag.
Ps...I liked born again...I bought it when it came out...I still play trashed loud in the car..
P.s.s...I just listened to headless cross again to see if was being unfair....a dio copy with a Geoff tate gear...spewing crucifix cliches...not good...rather go see the real singers..(and I did) than this tribute act...
Best. Band. Ever.
Come on dude, everyone knows the debut album came out on a friday 13th. It's part of heavy metal lore. Good video though
13 is the worst Sabbath album.
Heaven & Hell and Mob Rules are a tie. Both the best.
Paranoid is in my opinion overrated.
Tony Martin is the best singer Sabbath ever had.
Yes Born Again is a mess but its still listenable.
Come on man :) first album was released 13 february before Saturday too be more creepy 😇
💪😉
Sabotage!
Can you please do a review without all the overdramatic , hitting your hand , long pause crap please. You have great reviews, but the over dramatic stuff makes them unwatchable.
no cause thats boring
No that’s not boring , boring is taking 10 minutes to say something you could say in 5
Toss up between master of reality and sabotage...most of the time is master of reality tho...never say die is flat OUT TERRIBLE..only the title song
I never cared about Dio his singing has never connected with me, also if i hear Holy Diver even one more time I'll kill someone
To me Black Sabbath is with Ozzy Osbourne. H&H, Mob Rules and Dehumanizer are good albums I enjoy, but not THE Black Sabbath. The rest I honestly haven’t even bothered trying to listen to.
Totally fair my dude. Paranoid and Master Of Reality still remain the GOATs.
Try reviewing every Loudness album.
Y'know, truthfully I've never listened to an album from Loudness lol. What's a good record to start with?
@@themetalmeltdownofficial I'v never listend to an albem from them either, but I have listned to select tracs ever since I heard about some of their work being featured in an 1985 anime film by the name of Odin: Photon Sailer Starlight. Two tracks from the film, "Gotta Fight" and "Odin" were in the 2005 remastered edition of the 1985 album Thunder in the East.
From what I heard of Loudness, I think you might like them.
Though I personally love Born Again with all my heart, your criticism is TOTALY valid I must admit
I think it’s because we who love it see past the hot garbage mixing and dog shit production and see the intended vision Tony and Ian had, and that vision was a MONSTER of a metal album
Zero the Hero is a FAT fucking riff, and it’s so simple, hiding in plain sight. Anyone who’s ever picked up guitar has played those three notes accidentally or otherwise and they turned it into a dark, head banging, anthem
I disagree with almost every thing you said here
It wouldn't be a very interesting video if you agreed with everything he said
sorry had to click you off after your rating of sabbath bloody sabbath
Dont be sorry - if youre that easily triggered you arent wanted here
After ozzy I’m out
Why don't you listen to any sabbath after ozzy? You're missing out on some good music
Born again is awesome
