Please read the Swami's book, "Vedic Mathematics". You will learn much more, and directly from the one who discovered them.

He said u can write it as 10-1, it is going to be 450, 450 minus 45 is equal to 405. Need more explanation here, how come that 10-1 is going to be 450?😅

For Multiplication symbol we commonly use term, "INTO" in our country.
