I'd add a fifth category (i.e. when the 4th is the loud clubbing one), which in fact could be leather/smoky.
Namely a very luxurious/exclusive scent for special occasions, like for example niche ones or private lines.

The 1st 3 categories are what I always recommend fragrance beginner friends of mine. As for the romantic category, go for loud if you want to be noticed or a warm and close fragrance if you already have a girl.

@davidtadeo12 It depends. Do you go clubbing to attract girls or you already hook one and on a date with her. Clubbing scents, loud and sweet. Most of Paco Rabanne, John Paul Gaultier line. Versace Eros or Dylan bleu. Dating scents, softer and slightly more matured. Bleu de Chanel line, Aqua de Gio line, YSL Y and L'Homme line. All are good. See which one suits you best.

@@datalival i like Moschino’s “Toy Boy” for this, it’s kind of unique in that it functions similarly to other clubbing scents like Sauvage or Eros, but it’s built on a rose backbone so it stands out in that regard, being so floral and unisex. If you’re not a fan of the floral vibe, you can go green with Parfums De Marly’s “Greenley”. i’ve been told irl it smells very “rich💸” and “super sexy”, and at least it’s not Layton or something more recognizable.

@movestattoo4561 That advice is mostly for people who are just starting out on fragrances really. Just to be on the safe side until you get the feel of what your partner likes.
In all honesty, you can wear whatever you like for whenever you like. A fragrance that what the majority of girls like. A fragrance that will boost your confidence. Or a fragrance that makes you stand out from the rest.

I think the leather/dark scents, are a good one to have on hand, sometimes you want something to wear suited up, formal occasions or maybe that corporate meeting where you are discussing a billion dollar merger.

I usually agree and enjoy your recommendations. I would not however recommend Moschino's Toy Boy to just anyone though. Tbh, I think that one is even more niche than leather fragrances themselves. I just did not like the way that floral, sour smell sat on me lol but it can work for other people. Instead, Eros EDP/One Million Elixir or Royal or Lucky/and Ultra Male would be safe "loud" fragrances to recommend, IMO 👍🏽✅
