I felt the exact same way, I am upgrading from my pacific blue 12 pro max and got the graphite 13 pro max. Pacific blue is the best iPhone colour ever.

Received my graphite 13 pro max earlier having upgraded from a 7 plus. Honestly don't know what all the fuss is about. Actually thinking of returning the 13 and keeping my 7 plus with a new battery.
Why? Aren’t the display, camera, performance and battery upgrades not enough for you especially when you’re coming from 7 plus? ProMotion alone is enough to justify an upgrade.

The one on the left looks more like you're describing for iPhone (more accurate portrayal of the translucence, rocks stand out), while the one on the right looks more like what you said for the Galaxy (colors look flat).

I would like to have one for my son struggling with his iPhone 6 16 GB Silver that has already caused him alot of problems in the past, any color may do and whatever memory variant, my son is not a picky one as well. Thank you so much for your kind heart.
I would like to point out that a slower charge is often a better quality charge, therefor it does not bother me personally! The battery tech and software now being smarter also allow for overnight charging in a safe and reliable way without degrading your battery (enable smart charging). :)
I just got mine over the weekend I really wanted the graphite but they didn’t have it in stock neither was the blue my only choices was gold or silver and since I had a gold 12 pro max I wants to try something different so I got the silver and it’s not bad but as far as the phone goes the 120hz display is so nice to have the im not a camera guy but these are great !!!! And battery life is insane !!!! You cannot kill this phone in one day !!! and I can only imagine how good it’s gonna get once it adjust to my usage !!!!

Question. Hoping someone knows. Does a darker colored phone take better pictures? Example: Would the graphite iPhone 13 take better pictures than the bright blue iPhone 13 because the graphite color would attract more light and not reflect it like the light blue iPhone?
Pre-ordered one. So tired of my SEs battery life (like the size though). But my vision is not as good as 20 years ago, so a bigger screen will be better, even if I have to pay with one-hand operation convenience. Thought about getting an iPad, but it is one more device to carry and charge (additionally to MacBook and iPhone) just for consumption. Plus, with Pro Max, I get the same 120Hrz as on iPad Pro and a great camera. Just better all-in-one solution for me - to read, browse the internet, watch shows, take pictures.

I agree that it would be great to have fingerprint unlocking capability. The notch is outdated and makes the phone look 10 years old. Competitors have found ways to minimize the camera on the screen and it is time for Apple to do the same. Apple also needs to allow customization of icons on the screen. I had several Android phones which allowed me to change the themes for the icons quickly and easily.
I have both an android and an iPhone. One for daily driver and one for more leisure and personal life. Perfect balance. Unfortunately Apple isn't going to listen to customers bc you aren't a celebrity and Apple is more of a name brand than actual practical device. They can have a phone shaped like an egg and people will buy it. Just have to make the choice K.R. Either you want the iPhone or an Android. They aren't going to change. Apple is sitting on a 10 billion dollar surplus so they aren't worried about losing customers.
if moving apps around and themes are the issues with a phone, then bring it on. i'll take better battery, better screen, better performance, better cameras, smaller notch, better design any day over moving apps around
What about multi tasking and speaker quality? I'm not that impressed w/ the battery as it's only slightly better than the Samsung flagship, but I'm trying to keep an open mind. I'm a first time viewer and thought you did a good job!
size isnt a factor that matters for iphones. they consistently get far better battery life than android phones. his test isnt an accurate representation of the amazing optimization apple has going for its devices.
@@joealvarez9901 i have a note 20 ultra and the speaker on my 13 pro max is better by a longshot. maybe the S21 is a lot better than the note, not sure. the only multi tasking i care for is excellent ram management and picture in picture which the iphone now has. 95% of people dont use the split screen or similar multi tasking abilities on their phones, which is probably why apple hasnt added the feature. most people dont even know their android phone can do it.
@@ZS-xi4xk Most people don't use the split screen multi-tasking? Wow that's crazy. I use it ALL THE TIME. I discovered it as a need for work, but use it for a ton of social stuff too. But to your point I bet most people don't know that you can use your smart TV as a computer with some Samsung phones. I guess it all depends on what you are using your phone for. i appreciate you talking abt the fps for this phone! i’m a huge gamer n i am rly intrigued by the 120hz & A15 bionic chip and the 5G in the iPhone 13 pros. i currently have the iphone 11… i think the jump in specs are pretty big.
I still have my iPhone 6 Plus I bought new in 2014. The home button no longer works and I have to use the on screen home button that never disappears. It’s very slow and apps crash sometimes. I’m on my second battery and now have to keep it plugged in to use it because it goes from 100% charge to 0 in around 20-30 mins. I preordered the iPhone 13 Pro Max 256gb in graphite and will be picking it up at the Apple store on Friday.
Agreed, Apple can never do it justice. I really wanted matte black and I saw the images on this colour and I thought it was awful, but looking at this in this video I can say that it looks amazing.
@@aaron_carpentr Yep, same here. Wanted matte black and thought the renders looked too gray for this version. Pretty happy with how it turned out. I was considering the Silver one over he Graphite, but I actually think the Silver model looks WORSE in person over the renders.

I just bought this refurbished, incredible looking condition but I feel the battery goes down quicker than expected? My friend has the exact same phone as me which he got brand new, his battery percentage health is 91% mine is 88% and sometimes it goes down quite quickly, as in it will go down a few percentage in like 20 mins when just using what’s app. Other times it will last long and take 20 minutes to go down 1 percent. Is there an issue with my phone or am I just expecting better battery than a refurbished should have?
In my opinion there will always be a reason to wait another year. So I think if you’re really indeed tired of your XR, I would go for it. Also you should try 13 pro and 13 pro max in hand before buying. I got the 12 pro max last year and it was a little too large for my taste
This will be the first year that I get ballsy and buy an edge only case leaving the back completely exposed. Upgrading from an 11 pro max to a 13 pro max won’t be monumental but will be very appreciated… not much will be exciting between now and apple glasses

Yeah that’s probably a software issue.. it seems that the ears are the blurred out area and it prob is optimized for people

Does a darker colored phone take better pictures? Example: Would the graphite iPhone 13 take better pictures than the bright blue iPhone 13 because the graphite color would attract more light and not reflect it like the light blue iPhone?
Pre-ordered one. So tired of my SEs battery life (like the size though). But my vision is not as good as 20 years ago, so a bigger screen will be better, even if I have to pay with one-hand operation convenience. Thought about getting an iPad, but it is one more device to carry and charge (additionally to MacBook and iPhone) just for consumption. Plus, with Pro Max, I get the same 120Hrz as on iPad Pro and a great camera. Just better all-in-one solution for me - to read, browse the internet, watch shows, take pictures.

I agree that it would be great to have fingerprint unlocking capability. The notch is outdated and makes the phone look 10 years old. Competitors have found ways to minimize the camera on the screen and it is time for Apple to do the same. Apple also needs to allow customization of icons on the screen. I had several Android phones which allowed me to change the themes for the icons quickly and easily.
I have both an android and an iPhone. One for daily driver and one for more leisure and personal life. Perfect balance. Unfortunately Apple isn't going to listen to customers bc you aren't a celebrity and Apple is more of a name brand than actual practical device. They can have a phone shaped like an egg and people will buy it. Just have to make the choice K.R. Either you want the iPhone or an Android. They aren't going to change. Apple is sitting on a 10 billion dollar surplus so they aren't worried about losing customers.
if moving apps around and themes are the issues with a phone, then bring it on. i'll take better battery, better screen, better performance, better cameras, smaller notch, better design any day over moving apps around

Graphite looks slightly darker than last year
It looks darker indeed. Just saw in other videos, it kinda looks like matte black from certain angles

What about multi tasking and speaker quality? I'm not that impressed w/ the battery as it's only slightly better than the Samsung flagship, but I'm trying to keep an open mind. I'm a first time viewer and thought you did a good job!
size isnt a factor that matters for iphones. they consistently get far better battery life than android phones. his test isnt an accurate representation of the amazing optimization apple has going for its devices.

@@joealvarez9901 i have a note 20 ultra and the speaker on my 13 pro max is better by a longshot. maybe the S21 is a lot better than the note, not sure. the only multi tasking i care for is excellent ram management and picture in picture which the iphone now has. 95% of people dont use the split screen or similar multi tasking abilities on their phones, which is probably why apple hasnt added the feature. most people dont even know their android phone can do it.
@@ZS-xi4xk Most people don't use the split screen multi-tasking? Wow that's crazy. I use it ALL THE TIME. I discovered it as a need for work, but use it for a ton of social stuff too. But to your point I bet most people don't know that you can use your smart TV as a computer with some Samsung phones. I guess it all depends on what you are using your phone for. I still have my iPhone 6 Plus I bought new in 2014. The home button no longer works and I have to use the on screen home button that never disappears. It’s very slow and apps crash sometimes. I’m on my second battery and now have to keep it plugged in to use it because it goes from 100% charge to 0 in around 20-30 mins.
I preordered the iPhone 13 Pro Max 256gb in graphite and will be picking it up at the Apple store on Friday.
I just got mine and love it. It's amazing.

The Graphite looks much better "in person" than in renders.
Agreed, Apple can never do it justice. I really wanted matte black and I saw the images on this colour and I thought it was awful, but looking at this in this video I can say that it looks amazing.
@@aaron_carpentr Yep, same here. Wanted matte black and thought the renders looked too gray for this version. Pretty happy with how it turned out. I was considering the Silver one over he Graphite, but I actually think the Silver model looks WORSE in person over the renders.
@@sextonj87 yeh it looks a bit too light and the gold is too light and i keep getting it confused with silver. It seems like most people are getting the new blue colour (which i personally thing looks better irl but is too light for me) or the graphite colour has been the most popular considering apple (au) says delivery is pushed back to the 25th of October (sheesh), thank god i get mine Monday hopefully 🤞

I was excited for 120hz but after seeing it in person and compared it to the 12 pro max it’s not as big as I thought
it's a big deal when you've used 120hz for a month, and then turn off pro-motion to realize how choppy, slow, and eye straining 60hz is.
I have the s21 ultra but I really want to get this. I would like to play around with both phones, and this will be my first iPhone. Would I be disappointed or excited?

If you wanna upgrade... go for it! It will be a huge improvement from your XS max. I am upgrading from the 11 pro max to the 13 pro.

@@jesseluv13 I got the 12 pro max last year because i do tend to watch a lot of content on my phone and sorta regretted it after holding my friends 12 pro. There’s just something about being able to operate everything one-handed.
I just bought this refurbished, incredible looking condition but I feel the battery goes down quicker than expected? My friend has the exact same phone as me which he got brand new, his battery percentage health is 91% mine is 88% and sometimes it goes down quite quickly, as in it will go down a few percentage in like 20 mins when just using what’s app. Other times it will last long and take 20 minutes to go down 1 percent. Is there an issue with my phone or am I just expecting better battery than a refurbished should have?

In my opinion there will always be a reason to wait another year. So I think if you’re really indeed tired of your XR, I would go for it. Also you should try 13 pro and 13 pro max in hand before buying. I got the 12 pro max last year and it was a little too large for my taste

This will be the first year that I get ballsy and buy an edge only case leaving the back completely exposed. Upgrading from an 11 pro max to a 13 pro max won’t be monumental but will be very appreciated… not much will be exciting between now and apple glasses
