    Interesting comment about the beeswax color being influenced by the carbohydrate source consumed by the bees. Never heard that before. Any links to research on the topic?

    Beginner question: if you split a weak hive into 3 nucs in the fall, how do the nucs survive the winter?

    I hate when honey comb protrudes beyond the width of the frames!! It doesn't make extracting any easier or better. In fact, it promotes a loss of honey when harvesting since most of it falls with the wax cappings. This in turn, leads you to spending more time and effort attempting to separate the wax from honey.
