The first thing I did was finish campaign to have havik and I’m committed to making him work. Im glad my feeling of falling short is because he’s complicated and not because he just needs buffs. I’ll keep at it
I been playing Havik a little bit, here's what you missed that I know about. I use Frost as a Kameo because of her low freeze. Havik has so many overheads, I just condition my opponent to block the overheads then hit them with the freeze and if that lands it allows Havik to start a combo with his db2 special. His db2 has 1 hit of armor without meter but if it absorbs a hit it doesn't pop up, it just splats. If you meter burn his db2 it has 2 or 3 hits of armor but also just splats a grounded opponent, but it will launch an airborne opponent wether it absorbs a hit or not, so it's very good on a jump in read. You can special cancel 22 after the second hit. If you land the 212 air combo you can special cancel it into his db4 for a good ender. Even if your character doesn't have an air special you can still special cancel air combos and when they land the move will come out. If your in the corner and land 212 air combo you can special cancel in to his meter burn bf2 and get your unlockable set up going. I'm sure there's more but this is what I can think of while I'm at work. Correction: His meter burn db2 does NOT launch airborne opponents when he absorbs a hit anymore, it did during early access though.
@@Sauxeaholic if you catch someone in the net or freeze them with either Frost or Sub Zero you can do whatever you want but the Frost freeze is a low so it's sort of a mix up if you condition the overhead and all of Havik's strings will combo into her freeze.
@@ZeBernaudaus I believe he is a neutral character with frame traps and a good whiff punisher with his b2 and f1 strings, combine him with a Kameo that stuns long enough to get his db2 going and he's pretty good
@@skrev1697he's abit slow omg how don't people understand character types ., if a character has strong attacks , they Will be slow . Just like fast characters have weaker attacks . This has been a stand in fighting game characters for decades. You play the style you are used to or learn to play the character. What I'm hearing is people saying change my character so I can. Winner easier . Just their character because I can't beat them. Honestly it's excuses for losing, never. In my life have I lost and blamed it on the character or my opponents character.. MK2 sega mega drive it took me and my friend half a day too actually beat Kintaro in just 1 round, but we practiced and she managed to beat him I don't understand how all these players fight against Ai boss unless they put it on easy mode
@@andrewpearson3516my thing is that there’s characters in this game that are way faster but are doing 50% combos, and Havik isn’t doing that with slower moves. Even a monster like general shao is faster. Even Reiko who is the “Grappler” of the game has faster buttons.
Yeah, a lot of people are confused on Havik plays and a lot of us (including me) thought he was gonna be a combo machine. Now, he most certainly can do that but that’s not what he is about, he’s meant to be setup character that can guarantee to get you killed if you try to take your turn back. Havik has moves that essentially forces the player to play into what he wants them to do as normal setup character should do, however, what makes him unique is the fact that a lot of his moves are active for a very long time so if you’re trying to get your turn back, good luck because either you trade hits or you respect the hit by blocking which leads to more frame traps and even unblockable setups. Also, I wanna mention that the armored move is actually one of his best moves, a hard knockdown is exactly what Havik wants to setup more frame traps and block pressure. Here’s the real kicker as well, if he is by chance ever knocked down, he can spend one bar for the armored attack and if the opponent is blocking, Havik is now neutral or if the opponent even dares to hit him while he has the EX arm rip still active, you are gonna eat a guaranteed 22% for one hit and also a hard knockdown, which again leads to more shenanigans of dealing with block pressure(not to mention, the EX has 4 hits of armor, basically no one except Baraka and a few kameos are gonna be able to punish that). So, I will say, he’s not the easiest to play or understand but have faith in the fact that he’s going to give some players a hard time dealing with his very decent zoning tools and block pressure.
He seems to have a lot of good basic strings and pressure tactics, and a lot of those slow startups hit really damn hard. There's definitely going to be a need to figure out what's usable to punish crumples, finish air combos, or follow up for crazy wakeup punish/pressure. But definitely going to highly benefit from the right kameo, given how that's an integral part of the game and all....
Depending on the matchup, I’ve had the best success with Sereena and Frost. Sereena for quick hits from range to try and set up his running punch/EX’d roll and stopping breakers in the corner, and Frost for cheeky freeze setups on sleeping opponents and pressure with the ice ball.
Really, anything that holds them or stuns them for a second is going to be super useful. Possibly also movement tools could supplement him well.@@kylebridson6780
Cool guide. I'll add 2 things if I may : - it's not specified in the menu but you can hold back during BF2 so he doesn't go too far. This is crucial in combos - you can actually after 22, but just don't do the DB1 launcher. 22 BF1 launcher works perfectly fine and you can combo after it. Other than that, I agree, he is not beginner friendly.
Also a heads up. The armored arm rip off move, if you enhance it, the move gets full armor and can take multiple hits. So it may have short range, but by enhancing you can literally tank through any oncoming combo and knock down your opponent.
It would be awesome if Havik's projectiles would do something similar to Omen's projectiles in KI. Maybe travel in random trajectories every time. That'd be sick.
His armored move has one hit of armor without spending meter, if you spend meter he has like 4 or 5 hits of armor. Edit: his unblockable move where he crumbles the opponent has insane scaling on the combo after and for some reason you can't start your combo with his projectile, when you launch a projectile at the opponent while they are crumbled they will be able to block it.
@@Mrkeyzified12 I know but you can attack simultaniously with the projectile to get more combo damage, but for some reason after you use corpse taunt you're not able to do that and your enemy will be able to block the projectile although they are in a crumbled state, as long as the projectile is launched at them and doesn't go off in their face if it goes off in their face it will launch them because it combos with corpse taunt but from far away it doesn't combo although you should be able to frame wise. To describe it fuguratively: the enemy is crumbled and you launch a projectile at them, long before they have fallen to the ground they can just hold block and will be taken out of the crumbled state and put in block the moment neoplasm hits them
I've been maining havik so far (LV 35) and he's been pretty fun to use but he feels a bit outmatced against some characters. My biggest issue is the blood bath enhanced move costing 2 bars and his seeking neoplasm startup . The blood bath move costing 2 is a little crazy but the biggest issue is if you begin a combo using corpse taunt, the damage scales way faster, meaning less damage. Still a great character but you really need to know which strings are your friends when playing Kombat League 👍
(lvl 25) i agree. i feel NR was scared it was too power ful but with that 2 bars and the scaling its underwhelming. take one of them away it it be fine. also yea the orb that bounces takes WAY to long. i cant freeze someone with frost and they have the time to break free before the move hit them.. start up way too long
Havik is not bad.. if you use his armor effectively, he is really nasty up close. And I use motaro kameo, his three energy blast gives him free rush down pressure. Also, his 2’1 string is plus and you can mix it with motaro low blast because the 2’1 is an overhead
Havik is crazzyyy those people haven't played against a decent one...also thank you for the reptile video I'm going crazy in kombat league with sereena as a kameo
Imo as someone that’s been using a lot of Havik in early access. I think he’s just mid tier or low mid, I don’t really see him competing with high tier characters. His BF2 while is very good on enhance, the opponent can still use their armored reversal to get out of it. So you have to be very careful otherwise that’s 2 bars down the drain for nothing. D4 is probably the best button he has. DB1, you didn’t know but it does have 1 hit of armor. If the opponent hits you it will no longer combo & just do a flat amount of damage. The armored version for 1 bar to my knowledge has 3 hits & does a lot of chip damage/22% if you got hit but still hit them. His projectiles are really slow & with the enhanced, if you get hit before it appears on the other side it just disappears. They can hit you out of it if you do it next to them. He’s a very tricky character, I don’t necessarily think he’s bad but think he needs some buffs. It really hurts that he’s so reliant on kameos & his only mid is 18 frames. His damage is just okay, I feel once people understand his kit more it’ll be very rough to play him. His BF3 is really not that useful either. Idk, he’s a weird one. But I just don’t see him being a high tier or all that amazing character for how much harder you have to try & win. He is really fun to play though. But man are his buttons/specials really slow. He’s really just a knowledge check if anything. It really depends what kameo you have, I hear Cyrax is good with him so I’m gonna test him out.
I love havik. He has more in his tool kit than what you showed. For instance his down back 2 when amplified is godlike. Yes you dont get a launcher but as far as i can tell it has infinite armor. And i think the damage scales with how many hits you take. Ive absorbes at least a four hit combo, and it dished out a good chuck of damage which is crazy for only a single hit. The name of the game is 50/50 use 2 2 which is an overhead and foward 3 which is a low. Combo into fireball for launcher. Uses back 2 2 for pressure. But he's he is kind of reliant on kameo specific characters, start up on some special moves are awful
I like to use stryker with havik. He has the grenades which help you combo into his arm launcher and helps with his counter zoning. He has a low which helps you with mix ups. He has a overhead for mix ups again. And the grab helps against zoning
I got the early access release and unlock Havik the second day, I've been practicing with him since and here's my take away, Havik is very fun to play and has plenty of good combos, but they're not easy to pull off, at least not for me, at this point I exclusively use him in invasion just because when it comes to online he almost always loses, but that's just a skill issue, I'm not good with him and that's on me but if you're willing to put in the work he can be a great character.
I should add cause I don’t know if he mentioned it but both helping hands are armored with unamplified having 1 hit and amplified having 2-3 (possibly infinite but idk for sure) hits the one thing tho is that if the armor is hit both versions loose the combo starter and just have a standard bonk but the bonk’s damage is increased
Also I really like this series, you don't know how that make me play mk11 a lot different. Try switch on "reversal mode" on training mode, so you can show when there is a 'gap' where the enemy can punish you
Havik is good bruh. The reason some people think he is bad is because of the amount of damage his combos do. His pressure is insane and not hard to play at all.
His corner pressure is really nice, had 3 people in a row rage quit on me after getting them trapped in the corner and I'm not even that good.. his sweep is so good as well, the range is ridiculous. I like the character, I'm going to switch characters every season, right now I'm using Havik, it's frustrating sometimes going against much better characters like Raiden i feel is broken but his whole design is really cool and fun.
It is not that difficult to deal with, Raiden when he uses his most known combos you can punish him by doing a down 1 and possibly they use Sarena as well, you more easy punish without getting hit because of the range of havik's down 3
It’s also quite risky if you’ve got an opponent who knows to look for it. A good backstep punish or block if it’s used on wake up and it resets, but you don’t get any advantage from doing it. It’s best when you’ve got someone who anticipates doing a combo from knockdown, but if a character is fast enough they can also hit you out of it, or if the player crosses you up as you stand.
Idk, the fact that Darrius' combo starter costs the whole kameo meter and refills stupid slow makes him not as viable. I use him to combo with shaos overhead, but the refills makes it almost impractical
@@philosophyandhappiness2001 I saw a video about Darrius and you can actually do a lot with that move you're talking about, I don't know how to explain it all but it's a lot more than just that one move the video is by OneStep if you wanna check it out
Havik seems like he is gonna live and die by knowing his frame data because they're slow most of the time. Although they still hit super hard and have armor. Very juggernaut esque character from what I have played.
Tbh no character is bad if the person truly knows how to exactly play said character, but I wouldn't say Havik is BAD, it's just that not many people put the time to actually learn him, same with many other characters, tho I do see why many would consider him bad,
Great video man👍 Am so glad I don't pay too much attention to frame rate and all this fancy stuff lol I am a noob and enjoy every second of this game without worry to be the best or what characters need buffs. Your real good tho brotha.
I think Havik is solid honestly. You just need a Kameo who can compliment his weaknesses...for example...Cyrax. b22 into the EX DB1, DB1, BF3, and EX BF3 can combo if you use Cyrax's Horizontal Kopter Chopper. His combo's are quite cool once you figure them out.
I really liked havik. I was on a 4-0 in ranked with him. Yeah, his lows and overheads aren't really present. But if you do Forward - 4, then his torso swing, it's a cheeky 5 hit opener
Finally this series is back. Idk if you are going to read this comment @TrueUnderDawgGaming but I must attempt to let you know that you are the only mk content creator I sub to and you are the very best. Honestly I've been finding a ton of success with Havik and Frost on kombat league, he's not the best by any means but I still think he can be solid in the right hands
Yahhh I’ve been playing a lot of Havok anddddd ooof, the most notable secret fact is that his back forward 2 roll can be turned to a close roll by holding back, use this to actually hit combos
It’s not that good bro. It’ll work maybe a couple times if they’re not brain dead but the move is so slow that they can press jab then just block n be fine. He unfortunately doesn’t have much going for him
Hey TrueUnderDawg, I think a video explaining the Controller Settings like the "Release Check", "Input & Button Shortcuts" What are the Positives or Negatives by having these on or off? I've been mentioning this idea since MKX to a few UA-camrs, but maybe it's not that good of an idea? lol it's all good 😊
I like Havik and his Limb thing but he's just not what I was expecting and doesn't have good enough combos for how much resources he spends. (Next point is without Kameos) I can get around a 395 damage combo with Baraka for 1 bar. Havik can get around a 400 ish damage combo for 2 bars( and you have you land the roll attack from the air for it which is difficult to time for most(even if you combo into it)). Also admittedly i don't know if you can you can combo break out of the corpse taunt combo but if you can then it's 2 bars for little damage. Basically he needs better ways to get his opponent in the air and the damage scaling for the corpse taunt needs to be reduced (I know it's (basically) confirmed damage but it's also 2 bars. I thought of an idea of certain moves damaging limbs in a combo. So basically let's say the end of one combo breaks off Havik's hand. The next time he uses an attack that would break off his hand it would end the combo with a finisher, almost like a command grab but less damage. And after the combo all his limbs grow back. (Let's say if he damages his leg it just removes most of the flesh rather than make him walk slower) I think it's cool but tell me if you guys think otherwise
Havik isn't BAD. People don't know how to utilize this characters kit to the fullest. What's the best thing to do with Havik? He's got good lows that hit at a good distance, this is something you'll want to take advantage of at neutral. What else does he have? One of the best things in the game and that's his armor special. Db+1 which when used normally can take one hit but launches for a combo. What does the amplified input for the special do? Remember the normal input being able to take one hit? The amplified version can take FOUR HITS. I'm not lying, the amplified version takes four hits and does 22% damage. He's also got good set ups like doing his bf+4 at the end of the combo for more pressure against the opponent when they're getting up. If they hit being too greedy, the special projectile hits them and you can combo. I was using Shang Tsung at first since he's my favorite MK character but after using Havik more, Havik is a lot of fun and is a rewarding character when you know how to use him. Havik overall is a good character but he's definitely not the best. Casual players will hate fighting against this character and play him too since it takes time to get used to his stuff.
I absolutely love havik, dropped raiden for him about a week ago. He missed one thing. His armored attack is not garbage. It’s just different It takes 4 hits to break his armor. So u can throw it out whenever and almost always catch ur opponent with it (im sure this will change once people actually learn how to play against him and what he does but for now it’s easy to catch players with his overheads mid combo string and to catch people off guard with his armored doen back 1)Just don’t use it as a wake up, it only takes one hit to break if u use it as a wake up, you will pretty much always get punished because of how slow it is, Found that out the hard way. He’s definitely harder to play but man I think he’s gonna be my main for a while. My favorite thing is to wiff punish into his back 2 and then go into a combo. My bread n butter combo I usually go to is about 33%, if you have 2 bars of meter u can ex his back forward 2 to get the unblockable and then either use that for another free combo, that’s 60% total damage with fatal blow, without it, most I can get out of it using sub zero kameo is about 53% total damage, because it’s an unblockable damage scales down a lot, I mean a lot a lot. My bread n butter 34% damage is only about 20-22% after using the unblockable, so instead my favorite thing to do is once players know it’s an unblockable, they usually go for an armored wake-up. So usually I don’t even use the unblockable, I set it up almost only to bait people into using there armored wake up, which I believe every characters is extremely punishable, as true underdawggaming puts it, instant death. And then it’s literally a free combo without the damage fall off from the unblockable. Either way it’s a win win no matter what, also his fatal blow is very good. U can do a simple combo like back 22 back forward 1, back 22 into fatal blow and that’s 45%. He’s right on the money about havik really depending on a kameo tho especially for combos. I usually use sub zero kameo as he’s great for havik. U can use his ice armor to protect you from projectiles while shooting off projectiles, and his freeze is great for extending combos. Havik is one of the most unique characters in the game and definitely one of my favorites.
Idk a lot about framing and what not, but I play as Havik a bit and found him pretty easy to get used to. Been playing as him through most of Invasion mode.
Havik doesn't really have combos but his plus frames make him a bully. You pair that with exdb1 to get super armor and keep pressure going. His goal is to get opponents in the corner. Use torso twist to get corner carry. Only kameos I have found that help him are sareena, jax and sub zero. A good strat is to hit the opponent with his f122 string and while they are knocked down do bf3 and follow the projectile to get back in on the opponent.
I would much prefer if the Enhanced Spinning Torso was the armored move and have the Helping Hand be faster on startup to launch from his grounded strings.
I like this video. I like the series is coming back but I feel like this video was a little rushed. He didn't mention the damage scaling with corpse taunt or the unique armor situation with helping hand.
I think he definitely needs some buffs, but you brought up a good point about him intentionally being a really difficult character. I really want to hear what the devs intention for him was (difficult or just not good)
As a Havik main...I say he's perfect!! leave him low tier...It's still early but thanks giving my favorite punk rocker the attention he deserves. Also I'm not basing this on anything but he has one of the best wake ups in the corner.
Ive been practicing Havik for a bit.. he definitely is a bit slower but makes up for it with his kit. I use frost kameo for that low mixup. Gonna keep practicing and become a decent havik player..
Havik 45% combo(must have cyrax : B2,2 B+F+1 dash F1,2 neutral kameo(hold button) D+B+1 B+F+2 Enhance, at about half way through the special neutral kameo B+F+2. D+B+1 Enhance (optional) B2,2 D+B+4
Please tell me you’re going to do a guide for Shang Tsung. I know that everybody doesn’t have them, but I low-key can’t seem to figure out how to play him
I truly don't think there are any "BAD" characters as much as there are "not as good as another." Which is a giant sigh of relief to people like me who want to be able to play any character and enjoy myself
Do an average Havik combo, use Bloodpath as a combo ender, then in the middle of his Bloodpath move call an ambush Kameo, then do it again and watch the damage. Havik is one of the best, despite his damage, he got mix-ups and that amazing Helping Hand armored damage when used as a wake up.

@@its_Criminal1 i agree but youre wrong about that projectile being unavoidable. ive been playing him since the game been out and seen alot of people avoid it
The first thing I did was finish campaign to have havik and I’m committed to making him work. Im glad my feeling of falling short is because he’s complicated and not because he just needs buffs. I’ll keep at it
Same, idc if he’s not “meta” I’m committed to getting good with him
I been playing Havik a little bit, here's what you missed that I know about.
I like cyrax cause if u can catch someone in the net grab then u get a free overhead
@@Sauxeaholic if you catch someone in the net or freeze them with either Frost or Sub Zero you can do whatever you want but the Frost freeze is a low so it's sort of a mix up if you condition the overhead and all of Havik's strings will combo into her freeze.
is havik a rushdown character ? a neutral ? a set-up ?
@@ZeBernaudaus I believe he is a neutral character with frame traps and a good whiff punisher with his b2 and f1 strings, combine him with a Kameo that stuns long enough to get his db2 going and he's pretty good
I love being a casual and trying to read this but it's all in god damn code.
But I like Havik. He’s so fun to play. Sure he’s a bit slow but he’s still fun
you're fun but a bit slow
@@267BR in All seriousness he does need a buff but I also like how he plays
@@skrev1697agreed
@@skrev1697he's abit slow omg how don't people understand character types ., if a character has strong attacks , they Will be slow . Just like fast characters have weaker attacks . This has been a stand in fighting game characters for decades. You play the style you are used to or learn to play the character.
What I'm hearing is people saying change my character so I can. Winner easier . Just their character because I can't beat them.
Honestly it's excuses for losing, never. In my life have I lost and blamed it on the character or my opponents character.. MK2 sega mega drive it took me and my friend half a day too actually beat Kintaro in just 1 round, but we practiced and she managed to beat him
I don't understand how all these players fight against Ai boss unless they put it on easy mode
He definitely doesn’t hit hard. He has one move that does.
Cool guide. I'll add 2 things if I may :
- it's not specified in the menu but you can hold back during BF2 so he doesn't go too far. This is crucial in combos
- you can actually after 22, but just don't do the DB1 launcher. 22 BF1 launcher works perfectly fine and you can combo after it.
Other than that, I agree, he is not beginner friendly.
Havik is what made me buy the game to be honest. I think his concept is so wild and cool, never playedf a zombie before
Also a heads up. The armored arm rip off move, if you enhance it, the move gets full armor and can take multiple hits.
So it may have short range, but by enhancing you can literally tank through any oncoming combo and knock down your opponent.
@@THE_SKiZzLe23damn foreals?
Agains good players they’ll just block it cuz it’s really slow so they have to be doing a pretty long string to get the benefit.
It would be awesome if Havik's projectiles would do something similar to Omen's projectiles in KI. Maybe travel in random trajectories every time. That'd be sick.
His armored move has one hit of armor without spending meter, if you spend meter he has like 4 or 5 hits of armor. Edit: his unblockable move where he crumbles the opponent has insane scaling on the combo after and for some reason you can't start your combo with his projectile, when you launch a projectile at the opponent while they are crumbled they will be able to block it.
his armor move does not combo after his 2 2 string
@@autisticbuckfanmy bad I thought he meant that you can't special cancle it because of the knock-down
His bf1 projectile will only launch after you hit him with a cancelable move or it's EX. It won't launch on it's regular input
The only character I have trouble facing off against is Smoke. Besides that, I pretty much body everybody else with Havik.
(lvl 25) i agree. i feel NR was scared it was too power ful but with that 2 bars and the scaling its underwhelming. take one of them away it it be fine. also yea the orb that bounces takes WAY to long. i cant freeze someone with frost and they have the time to break free before the move hit them.. start up way too long
which cameo or cameos are you using with havik?
@@frederickdawson2253thats why you use his arm pop up move after the freeze not the projectile lol
You gotta learn how to frame trap with him and he’s so good and unpredictable
Havik is not bad.. if you use his armor effectively, he is really nasty up close. And I use motaro kameo, his three energy blast gives him free rush down pressure. Also, his 2’1 string is plus and you can mix it with motaro low blast because the 2’1 is an overhead
Havik is crazzyyy those people haven't played against a decent one...also thank you for the reptile video I'm going crazy in kombat league with sereena as a kameo
Exactly I played against a really good one yesterday and he's nasty asf
For the grab move, try holding back as it will shorten the range and duration of the move.
I currently Main Havik. Having loads of fun. So far positive record in Kombat League. But I do hate the lack of mix ups.
Down back 2 I think has like 5 hits of armor.
4
Havik’s move set is so chaotic and random and I love it.
Havik might be top 10, he doesnt need any buffs
Ran into a Havik today that pressed ALL his buttons. It's kind of scary NGL 😅
Also I really like this series, you don't know how that make me play mk11 a lot different. Try switch on "reversal mode" on training mode, so you can show when there is a 'gap' where the enemy can punish you
Me learning there's now "up block":
O,o,O
Finally a new mortal kombat and new content on this channel! Exited to journey with you again!
Havik is good bruh. The reason some people think he is bad is because of the amount of damage his combos do. His pressure is insane and not hard to play at all.
Lol 3 Havik players in top 8 of CEOtaku and one of them won it.
He was everywhere in swiss too lmao
Um hey, for corpse taunt, check the damage fall off after hitting someone with it
His corner pressure is really nice, had 3 people in a row rage quit on me after getting them trapped in the corner and I'm not even that good.. his sweep is so good as well, the range is ridiculous. I like the character, I'm going to switch characters every season, right now I'm using Havik, it's frustrating sometimes going against much better characters like Raiden i feel is broken but his whole design is really cool and fun.
It is not that difficult to deal with, Raiden when he uses his most known combos you can punish him by doing a down 1 and possibly they use Sarena as well, you more easy punish without getting hit because of the range of havik's down 3
@@TheinvisibleTV19 you're right, I just had to play more, I'm figuring out his strings since so many people play him
Excited the How terrible/ How terrific series is back
6:50 that damage from the armor higher than hitting it as regular
Yup..I noticed that as well. Super dmg!
Love your vids Underdawg, they are a must for a netherrealm game!
I wonder if Darrius would be a good kameo for Havik since he's apparently a great set up/mixup Kameo
Idk, the fact that Darrius' combo starter costs the whole kameo meter and refills stupid slow makes him not as viable. I use him to combo with shaos overhead, but the refills makes it almost impractical
@@philosophyandhappiness2001 I saw a video about Darrius and you can actually do a lot with that move you're talking about, I don't know how to explain it all but it's a lot more than just that one move the video is by OneStep if you wanna check it out
Would be nice detail if they work well together
Havik seems like he is gonna live and die by knowing his frame data because they're slow most of the time. Although they still hit super hard and have armor. Very juggernaut esque character from what I have played.
Tbh no character is bad if the person truly knows how to exactly play said character, but I wouldn't say Havik is BAD, it's just that not many people put the time to actually learn him, same with many other characters, tho I do see why many would consider him bad,
Fun fact: I noticed that sometimes haviks blood bath goes under sub-zero's Ice clone.
Hell yeah love this series. I'll be watching every one of them! Cheers!
You’re how terrible or terrific series and inside the mind of series is the best mk content in the world. It’s 50% the reason why I’m such a beast at mk11. Honestly I've been finding a ton of success with Havik and Frost on kombat league, he's not the best by any means but I still think he can be solid in the right hands
I literally beat invasions mode with havik only minus a few change ups for the klues. I like him and he’s one of my mains so far
Yahhh I’ve been playing a lot of Havok anddddd ooof, the most notable secret fact is that his back forward 2 roll can be turned to a close roll by holding back, use this to actually hit combos
Gotta remember haviks DB1 arm swing has like 3 hits of armor is so good for reading and eating a move
5 hits for me
I think it has more than 3 hits of armor it's just only 3 hits ever make it before he slams you. Also remember that that one ex move does 21% damage!!
It’s not that good bro. It’ll work maybe a couple times if they’re not brain dead but the move is so slow that they can press jab then just block n be fine. He unfortunately doesn’t have much going for him
Something i realized is when havik makes the opponenet do the unblockable he takes 10 damage. Wonder if he can die to his own attack 🤔
Hey TrueUnderDawg, I think a video explaining the Controller Settings like the "Release Check", "Input & Button Shortcuts" What are the Positives or Negatives by having these on or off? I've been mentioning this idea since MKX to a few UA-camrs, but maybe it's not that good of an idea? lol it's all good 😊
Loving this MK1 content! Keep it up, hopefully some more Smoke content too ;) some ranked matches
I was so excited for Havik because he looked cool 😀 Then I did a flawless on him in my first Invasion fight with him and my excitement went away.
Havik and Reiko both look really fun to play with aside from the damage they output

@@osas201change your mind yet?
Weirdly enough, I saw a lot of hype around having this character back in the game, but i haven't fought a single Havik online since the release day.
That's humans for ya
hopefully we get a video like this on Geras next. I didn't think id find playing him so much fun
(Let's say if he damages his leg it just removes most of the flesh rather than make him walk slower)
I think it's cool but tell me if you guys think otherwise
The Arm Rip doesn't always Launch or stagger but only if he's hit during the move since both moves have Armor
that recent competition showed what can be done
when UnderDawg's channel actually gets good again and not clickbait anymore
0:25 "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" said every viewer in unison
Aww he's my favorite so far. I always pick the bad characters when fighting games come out 😢
He is not bad he is just hard to use cause you need to set his combos up these scrubs who say he sucks have not played against a good Havik player
Ok I want "inside of the mind of character" series back
I think he looks like the Evil Dead / Army of Darkness character
I like his chaotic unorthodox style
I was thinking the same thing, if they plan on keeping him so slow they should at least give him more armor than for just one move
When this guy gets his stuff going it's pretty difficult to stop from what I've seen
I like this video. I like the series is coming back but I feel like this video was a little rushed. He didn't mention the damage scaling with corpse taunt or the unique armor situation with helping hand.
I love his gameplay, my favourite character from the 3D era, total badass!!
Man I would’ve loved to see his reaction if he realised that his enhanced armoured move has more than 1 hit of armor
I need a youtuber like this for tekken

Havik is the Nightwolf of MK1. This is why he will be one of my mains.
Ive been practicing Havik for a bit.. he definitely is a bit slower but makes up for it with his kit. I use frost kameo for that low mixup. Gonna keep practicing and become a decent havik player..

''Oh my gaaawwwd! This move is so trash'' ubderdawg not knowing about the infinite armor

Haviks wake up may be slow but it has infinite armor, it does like 20% on hit and it's safe, so I think it's good 👍
Not infinite armor 4-5 hits baraka with cyrax will bully that move

His back 2 2 is really good for cancelling into either specials or Kameos.

Return of the goated series fr
I truly don't think there are any "BAD" characters as much as there are "not as good as another." Which is a giant sigh of relief to people like me who want to be able to play any character and enjoy myself
Haviks, my main rn with a sub-zero kameo, and I can safely say that he has the potential to be a high tier character
Havik was someone I was very interested to main but after playing him that went away real quick…maybe I’m just bad at the game
Yup lol
Yeah probably just bad, because I thought Tanya was trash at first but I actually trained with her and she’s fun tbh
Literal skill issue
Do an average Havik combo, use Bloodpath as a combo ender, then in the middle of his Bloodpath move call an ambush Kameo, then do it again and watch the damage.
Havik is one of the best, despite his damage, he got mix-ups and that amazing Helping Hand armored damage when used as a wake up.
When you spend meter on helping hand you get unlimited armor plus the big damage and crumble. Normally you get 4 hits of armor but i they nerfed it to 1
The arm rip off has 2 hits of armor... catches me everytime because I try to poke or interrupt than boom it gets me
you can hold back during your roll grab to do a shorter range version so it doesnt drop
Can you make a video on how to optimally use the training mode. Set wake up, reversals
