My opinion is that I want the trilogy of movies to be 2h+ long adapting it like the manga. Then for it be adapted into episodes with extra scenes. I want 20-26 episodes for the season. Then the sunrise countdown arc should be a season with 9-12 episodes with added scenes
If I had to guess the Infinity Castle movies will go to theaters first, then get chopped into episodes and air normally, once that's done they'll segue into Sunrise Countdown just like the did with Mugen Train to Entertainment District
The 3 movies will adapt everything and probably add some Anime original scenes to make the arc even better. and since this arc is like 40 chapters in the manga then each movie will probably be 2h+, so i don’t think they’ll release them as episodes.
And the last arc can probably be finished in 12-13 episodes, it doesn’t need 24 eps unless they make the battle much more satisfying and add Anime original stuff as somethings were a little disappointing in the manga.
to be honnest with you, i don't care if it is a movie trilogy, as long as it is good, i am fine 😅😅😅

im excited and prefer movies, just look at what they did with the fate movies
i agree on them having it as movie trilogy, Ufotable broke the world with mugen train and im positive they;'re aiming for a world record with these trilogy. More money, more exposure, more popular it gets. For me it would be a good send off to demon slayer by ufotable, i still couldnt forget the excitement that i felt back when watching mugen train, this time they'll 100% make it wilder and hard to forget for decades. I am so excited to see the outcome.

I think the first 3 upper moons will be in their own fight of the trilogy. There said it would only be the infinite castle arc will be adopted.

I glanced enough to pretty much know the outcome of the Castle arc sadly. But I agree those fights animated are going to leave a Mark. Going back seeing the Ent Arc then the anime again, Obviously the animated is better. But The Castle arc in the manga was actually good. So Jesus, I can't even imagine.

YAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH CONFIRMED 3 MOVIES. I wrote this comment on episode 7 and I'm putting it here again for people to have an idea of what's in store. I've edited it a bit to make more sense now that we know it's 3 movies and it focuses solely on the Infinity Castle arc.
We don't know how long each movie will be. It doesn't seem likely that everything will fit into the runtime. I'm thinking though the 3 movies will be more on the higher side like 10 hrs. Each movie roughly being 2 hrs & 30 mins or 3+ hrs.
SPOILERS BELOW ABOUT THE REST OF THE ENTIRE STORY and a lot of reading 💀💀⚠⚠⚠⚠
1. realistically Kaigaku's aka new UM 6 (Also the guy who let the demon into the house this ep) fight with our thunder boi would be 2-3 episode (about 45 mins to an hour).
2. Prior to that fight was UM 2 vs Shinobu. That fight would also be 2- 3 episode.
Fights #1 and #2 are really short actually, they're about one episode each. They're both really short but I think the anime will expand on them so my 2-3 ep claim still stands.
3. Then there's Akaza fight with Tanjiro and Giyu which will be 5 or 6 ep (about 2 hrs).
4. Next is the full fight with UM 2 vs Inosuke and Kanao which will be about 4-5 ep (roughly an hour and 45 mins). Then there's the scuffle with Kanroji and Obanai vs new UM 4. At best that fight is 1 ep if not a little more past that before Yushiro takes over UM 4's mind.
5. Lastly UM 1 vs stone, wind, mist Hashira and Genya. That fight is the longest being 8 episodes worth of content (2 hr & 40 mins to 3 hrs). Then the continued scuffle with new UM 4 and everyone coming to the surface (about 50 mins). With that done that's the entire infinity castle arc.
So, with all that info fight #1, #2 and half of #3 will be adapted to the first movie. The second movie will finish fight #3. Also fight #4 and a small part of fight #5 will be the second movie. The 3rd movie will finish the rest of fight #5 or just be the entire fight itself as a movie which makes more sense giving the spotlight to UM 1 kokushibo.
But that's leaves the issue of the final battle with Muzan which is even longer than the UM 1 fight which is about 10 or 11 episodes. That has to be 3 - 4 hrs to finish up everything and there are only rumored 3 movies so there needs to be 4 to complete everything.
EDIT: since it's confirmed we have three movies that focuses on the infinity castle, the sunrise countdown arc aka Muzan fight will be its own movie or a final 11-episode season.

If you're wondering how I came to this conclusion and estimate of all the episodes, I just read the manga and scaled it to how much time each episode is. About 2 chapters = 1 episode. So, for example, fight #1 with Kaigaku vs Zenitsu is 3 chapters which are a small part of 143, all of 144, and half of 145. Technically it should be one episode but I feel like they can add enough scenes to it to be 2-3 episodes.
Mugen train wasnt even close to the highest grossing R rated movie of all time?? Its like 18th.

For me, i don't mind it, but I am one of the concerns I have is that kocho dies before The Akaza fight, but im guessing each of the first 3 upper moons will be own movie. How will that work out?

I would say its safe to assume that each Upper Moon will have the main focus of each movie, at least that makes the most sense
