- After 2 big years or 50K miles of service I retire my signature bright red Gringo S helmet. Here I go through what I liked and what to keep an eye out for if you choose to runs a Gringo S. Thanks for turning in!
Just starting the video I knew it was gonna be a good one. 55 k wow- impressed nothing broke on it
You hit on all the important points as far as what I’m looking for I wear earplugs so sounds is relevant
I was impressed with how comfortable it was
I like how the helmet has an open feel to it a- airtight helmets are too confining
Thx mate
Ca USA
How many coffee did you drink?
Thanks for the review men! Does the windshield stays open while driving?
Thx for the great review. As a helmet whore (if there is such as thing - I'm it) I,m picking up a biltwell and this review helped a lot. appreciate it.
Glad it was useful! Best of luck and ride safe!
Nice review. I just put around 12,000 miles on my Gringo S. I have a bit of forehead pressure after an hour or so of riding.
Christopher Campos , If its that uncomfortable get e new helmet.
@Christopher Campos I just bought mine and had to go 2 sizes up. I was told it will losen once I wear it a few times.
If yours is the new ECE model from mid 2018, you will need to go size up due to thicker EPS liner and cheek pads.
@@drazenbabich I don’t use the Biltwell Gringo anymore. I bought a Simpson . Happy with the upgrade.
does the shield detent settings actually stay in place? i have a bell helmet where the ratcheted detents are very sturdy. in warmer weather i can pop the shield up one notch and it'll stay in place at highway speeds. the detents on this gringo s helmet seem very loose to me.
Yes they do stay open, just make sure your screws are tight with lock-tite for a tighter visor action but I will often ride with the visor up in warmer weathers or if I'm traveling through the southern states in the summer. I had the visor open when I lost the hardware on my left side on my +900 mile day.... That was tough For I had to keep it closed!
Man, 50,000 miles on one helmet ... wow!
A testament to its quality and longevity. Great helmet, I have both Gringo and Gringo S, both ECE.
Thanks for the review. Is that the Metallic Candy Red color?
It is. The brightest red they had! Best,
Are those standard size goggles? I like my gringo s. I did the bubble shield. Just thought it would help with fogging. Good video! Thanks for the review.
Hey Tim! Thanks for the comment! Those are actually the same snow goggles I use when Snowmobiling. Still using your Gringo S? Best!
Sure do. But when I go out on the trails I usually just use my mx helmet n goggles with the visor removed. I just love the look of your gringo. I was looking into the biltwell 3/4 with goggles but I went down once years ago and the asphalt ground about a 1/3 of the lower part of my full face helmet off. I know the helmet saved my life or at least my face so I just have never felt right unless I had the full face on. And plus no matter how cool people think they look it all goes out the window when there are a hundred bugs stuck in their beard! Lol
STOP MOVING AROUND!! I'M GETTING ILL!!
how did you like the gringo? cant decide between gringo and gringo s.
So I bought a new ECE Gringo S and I actually don't like it at all. The original Gringo although not ECE approved was a more comfortable helmet. I still will use my Gringo S occasionally but tour with a Shoei RF-1200 now. Thanks,
@@Jedz123 thanks man
