Maratona dles Dolomites

The 138K Maratona on June 30th, 2013. Very challenging but fantastic event. Captures some of the climbs and descents, including Passo Giau. The video is a bit long -- I had a hard time editing down the beautiful scenery.

The driver guide went out of his way to make the day enjoyable for all, particularly our boys who have very little experience of snow. He found large patches of remaining snow so that our boys could run around in it and make and throw snowballs. A real highlight for them. The views were so perfect it was hard to believe we were actually seeing it and not looking at a postcard or T.V. show. Wow, that scenery is awesome....and I thought the riding here in California was amazing. How cold was it?

Thanks. It was probably about 40F when we started, near 70F by mid day. There was a cold snap leading up to it, since they don't usually have snow in late June there.

Nice video John! How many batteries did you use for the whole videos? I had great problems with my GoPro last year. Hope to do a better work this year.

Thanks! Yes batteries were a problem with the GoPro. I had three batteries with me, and went through them. Didn't record quite the whole thing since I turned it off occasionally. All in probably captured 5 hrs of footage. But if you want to record the whole thing, you might need 4 batteries. Keep the wifi turned off or you will need a lot more!

Thank you. 50-34 for the front, 11-28 in the back. Mostly on the 28 on the high grades!

u sure this was in 2013?
this is weird, i participated in 13 and i dont remember the snow like that, there were packs of snow on the flanks where the sun couldnt reach but not like this all over... It's like this wasnt the same time

Yes 2013. Pordoi and Giau passes were snow covered, and although it got up to 20, the prior week was cold and we had some days of snow and sleet leading up.

i mustve been in terrible condition, broke my foot and couldnt train before mai, so i may not have been fresh enough to notice then :s
