The saddest part about MultiVersus, for me, is Player First Games seem like a genuinely passionate dev team that want their project to succeed. No other live service game ever gets a second chance after their first attempt failed. They’d just give up and cut their losses. But not them. The BIG issue however is they’re now under the acquisition of one of the worst companies in entertainment. Which is starting to rub off on them
season 2 rifts are miles better than season 1 rifts imo. I was able to get that medal at the end of the track with about 1 hour of gameplay while in season one, I gave up once I reached 10 bosses.
rank being per character isn't a bad thing, it's just that the ranked system isn't built for it. separate ranks encourage people to play characters they're less confident with rather than relying on top tiers to rank up in fear of losing rank by playing someone bad. the real issue is that rp gain is horrible and you start from the bottom with no placement matches
they changed the event system due to player complaints, and the new system sounded better and more consumer friendly on paper, but when you actually try it it turns out you have to spend 5x the amount of time grinding to finish every event, to the point that if you wanted to finish every one now you'd have to play like an hour every day. games need to stop trying to make themselves feel like jobs.
It would've been fine if they allowed points to be given in rifts and upped the amount or lowered the requirement. I personally enjoyed the old way. I dislike pvp and how often people spam the same moves. Beta had 2v2Ai and 1v1Ai where you could complete missions. They need to bring that back, cause the rifts aren't that fun either over time.
That and the fact that majority of the event rewards are locked behind gleanium which makes no sense cause at that point what’s the point of me grinding for event currency yk?
The new event system is worse, the good part is that if you manage get through it you have more variety in what rewards you get. But I still wish we had the old way where you do the missions and get the skin (but we can choose the skin)
The cooldown thing I don't mind since mage characters an morty abuse projectile an toners are annoying. My issue with the game or the toxic community is how most people just spend all game running away or camping ledge.
I think the longer cooldowns can lead to camping. If your best moves are all recharging, the best move could be to play super defensive until they come back. It probably depends on the character a lot, but I noticed this pretty quickly when playing Marvin a while ago.
I’m still complaining that we should be able to use character tickets on new characters instead of waiting. Considering they gave the tickets to beta players exclusively.
i cant imagine spending anymore time on this game the grind is so bad none of my friends will redownload this game lol it sucks because the concept is so cool but the game is super slow and clunky. i get that companies haves to make money yadda yadda but this game is so grossly monetized for a product that doesn’t feel fully fleshed out.
The match making has just gotten worse for me I've only had 3 types of matches 1. My most common one is going up against people who are 10x better than me and have triple the hours. An example is me fighting a player who had 300 Rick wins vs my 60 and Rick is one of my mains 2. People who have only started playing the game 3. People who just when I think I'm going to have an even match they walk of the stage after I ringout them once

MVS has some serious rough edges, but with each update things get smoothed out. I know the devs actually care about the characters and the game, I enjoy the game, and the fact like you said of the grand potential of the game brings me back. Rifts are better, We get more toasts/ currencies, there's been added features, etc. I will say this. RP in Ranked is one of the most demoralizing point systems I've ever experienced. Hitboxes and Hurtboxes must be adjusted. And Overall the community gotta give constructive criticism instead of yelling “delete Iron giant” actually give some reasonable thought. Because I think the toxic mentality is one of things that will actually kill this game.
Toxicity breeds toxicity, you play this toxic game for elongated periods of time it'll make you toxic with all of its nonsense the broken hitboxes and praying/preying on kids pockets
I just uninstaled for 2 major reasons 1. Matchmaking sucks. AFK players, players who play like they never picked up a controller in their life, and the ones that play like bots. Having Matchmaking to be 100% random just causes 2v2 to be dice rolls due to the first to 4 format and 1v1 is just boring 2. The gameplay at it's core is mediocre at best. Slow games are fine but it works against itself when the game's supply of true combos is somehow worse then Smash Ult and includes a mashy dodge button. 12:55 makes my point, that's not a wonky hitbox, that's how dumb the dodge is to escape what would be bad situations. "Just read and punish" I do read the dodges, it's just not satisfying like responding to DI and creating free form combos
I got agent smith in a matter of 1 hour. How you ask? Well when you have a buddy that beat 20 bosses you just have to join and go through all those bosses with them.
It feels like this game should look at Overwatch 2's launch problems and learn from it. Characters behind the battle pass, too many currencies, it's fucking deja vu. except Overwatch 2 has actually fixed their issues and the game is fun to play. Multiversus is just hitbox messes, constant stuns and people spamming the same move, and no co-op vs AI meaning that I have to fight against people who sweat like their parents' divorce is on the line.
Yes the ranked rp is rigged in platinum..takes away 3x as many points you would get if you went 2-0..somehow you get more rp for going 2-1 than 2-0..-31 for going 0-1 when my teammate kills himself on purpose and backs out before 2nd game..today I played 3 time where we won 1-0 it bugged out each time and we didn't get any points or in other situations you get 10 points at most for basically makin them quit after 1-0..game is always right player is never right when they know the game is buggy

What do you mean? I played it for two weeks during the beta and hopped back in a few days ago and I’m already a gold rank. Its honestly simply to grind out for a few hours and get back into the flow of games/ learn characters

It was possible to get a strong friend to just carry you to the bosses in Rifts, skipping all other stages, to unlock Agent Smith. I helped my Godson unlock Smith in a single day right before the season ended...
The hit box thing is so extremely funny bc they addressed ALOT of that during the beta, a whole saga of the beta was about the hit n hurt boxes just for it’s official release to come around and remove all those changes they made LMAO.
I will still play this game for as long as I'm able to, unless they majorly screw up, because I just really like the core of it, the characters and their movesets all in a Smash-like game is a dream of mine come true, a dream originally composed exclusively of Cartoon Network but I love the addition of Looney Tunes, other non CN animated properties and even Jason, from a series of movies I can't even watch without getting nausea, has become my main But I am not blind to any of the game's problems AT ALL, from the way too slow speed to the tiny ceiling blastzones to the constant rotation of new broken loops and combos each update, the obnoxiously greedy gatekeeping for grinding for hours on end each day, the unfair Looney Difficulty that can't even be beaten with max gem levels unless you get lucky and they self destruct before ko-ing you, giving everyone a free salt sticker, when I grind to get those sweet Battle Pass and Event rewards I always keep forgetting why I still play the game, I always do remember by the end but man is it not easy
Agree with 90% percent of your inputs and complaints, except ranked mode; not sure if you’ve noticed but most ranked mode in fighting games, ranking is tied to characters not profile, as well as not being able to switch your character after the first match just to hard counter your opponent. These are fine in my book bc it keeps things competitive and not just techy
For the debuff mission, Wonder Woman's down special can do that. I thought her DS was supposed to give you an armor but I guess she can cleanse you as well.
Yeah I just uninstalled the game before the first of 3 patch. Is frustrating and the game will never reach the potential it has because they are still playing catch up with everything missing
I have vowed not to touch this game until they add any of the Warner Siblings as playable characters. And they really REALLY love teasing them it seems since the first new wallpaper for the return of the game has a Yakko and Brain Balloon in the background, and the Season 2 splash art has a Wakko Balloon. So this leads me to believe that a Dot Balloon will appear in the Season 3 Splash and only after they've the teaser will they add any of them. also the Watertower is a stage in the game already.
All these complaints are valid bro, especially with the microtransactions I don't even know what a horror gem or a gleamium is. I just been watching this game developed from outside and like to look in every now and then. But odd, terrible hitboxes are par the course for platform fighters.
In the rift which wanted you to freeze an opponent it specifically wanted you to freeze them either by hitting them enough times after missing a shuriken which is impossible or use superman's ice breath
Well it's cool that they added those medals to events, or whatever the event currency is that week, but now that the missions don't give the required xp, i complete 1 or 2 milestones instead of 4, so it's a big downgrade for people that don't play as much as expected.
They forced rank to bo3 and now it takes 10 plus minutes to gain or lose ranked points which is terrible. Some characters are so incredibly overtuned while 80% of the cast are massively undertuned. They have no clue how to make good maps either. The game feels too floaty and slow, and they advertised it as a 2v2 based fighting game but literally no one cares about or even watches 2v2. This game had so much potential and failed in every way possible to deliver
Dont forget that the balancing is terrible. Im a Lebron main and I have almost 1200 wins as lebron. And let me tell you that it is straight up not fair sometimes. Characters like Wonder woman,superman who has an unescapable zero to death and bugs bunny dominate the game. And lebron has so many issues that PFG hasnt acknowledged,like his still awful side special or his terrible jab. Meanwhile wonderwoman has almost everything going for her. They need to fix the balance in this game pronto.
I still have tickets from the founders pass so I will be logging in when a new character I like gets released like Betelgeuse. But other than that I think I am done with the game also.

2.0 release was garbage. After the patches it's mediocre. Still a long way to go to be a good to great game. Depending on the finances WB might not give it the time it needs.
I swear if there was someone like me in the world it would be you cause this is literally how i feel about this game. Love, hate relationship cause times im really having a fucking blast playing but then i get reminded of the jank and horrible hitbox/hurboxes and makes me sad. Not to mention i have a bestfriend who GLAZE this game and why i would like to feel like that no way i can, i can never complain about smash again when multiversus is alive how it is. Sorry.
Between fighting the best players in Brawlhalla and the worst players in Multiversus i will stick to the former, idk how to explain it but Mvs is either very unga bunga (your average shaggy main that just throws out really strong attacks) or a passive fest that makes paint drying look like a nascar race (looking at you Joker, and your jab fishing strats), that combined with the stiff movement and wonky balancing makes this game way too frustrating to play
Some stuff you said i think was a little nit picky but I agree with what you are trying to say. This game has potential to be better than smash they just need to go back to some beta stuff. Faster animations and gameplay, Local coop and maybe on rifts too, bug and hitbox fixes are a definite need. Hopefully they end up listening to us. Thanks for making me wanna play again. I loved this game in beta with it's flaws and all and hope that maybe in the near future we can get that feeling back. Ten fold.
Short answer: a bit. Season 2 is a massive step up but there is still so many things wrong with this game. The game still is fun, though. They fixed a bunch of fundamental problems with the beta, but at the same time they didn't. PFG doesn't really knows how to balance this game because frame cancelling enables so many loops and broken interactions, where a single mistake can lead you going from 0% to 70%; some characters even have confirmed touch-of-death combos where you will die and can't DI out of it. Not to mention the lack of end lag and less punishing attack decay allows spammers to win by using just one move. Then there are the hitboxes and the servers which are a whole can of worms on their own. It saddens me because the game has a lot of potential, but PFG's lack of experience with fighting games, let alone platform fighters, holds it back. They should've studied Smash Bros. a bit more before trying to deconstruct it. I feel the same as you. I criticize the shit out of this game because I wanna see it becoming something special, and it can be. I'm drained too. I log in to do my dailies and that's it.

These are facts! Except for the character rank, each character should start over, you’re not going to be a pro right off the bat, they just need to fix ranked so you don’t start at bronze. The games potential though is astronomical
The new event style they have going where you have to do pvp to get points is annoying. I didnt need them to remove gold and other currencies just to add new currencies. Also, no new Jason skins is kinda dumb. Ps. I still love the game but staying completely away from ranked and its spammers

There was no point in resetting the game after a year because it's not that much better. Honestly if they focused on releasing characters people like and making unique stages while fixing the game they'd be fine by now.
Asside from the convuluted shop And GRIND it takes to get character currency. The game is still very fun, and i like that there is an abundance of skins and customization to choose from. That said, they REALLY need to just fix hit boxes. Either that or bring back the perk that allows you do increase your dodge distance, because this game suffers the most from players abusing the BROKEN hitboxes
Yes it does suck. Rifts still are boring, Velma has no good buffs, rank is filled with players that just teabag and spam salt emote, oh and lag spikes, Jack skin not worth it. Crappy micro transactions. Just log in just to do the event.

The game is just so slow, it feels like you are playing at 5 fps, the character feels like it does stuff 10 seconds after a button press, i one tricked harley in the beta and loved the way she moved and played now she moves like a tank
Game is still a stingy, grindy, unbalance boring mess. It’s not a game it’s a store with ridiculous prices! Only reason I still play it is bc I sank over 200 h into it and payed for the season pass, I came back to it to see if it improved but barely any improvements! The hitboxes seem to have been fixed and the dodge seems to actually work on larger attacks/projectiles now, broken characters have been nerfed but other characters are op now so it’s the same song and dance.
It’s weird how the beta was more fun the the full game. Tbh the match making is terrible first few games were bot lobbies then after 5 games I kept fighting the top 100 players 💀
The WB stage was removed from ranked due to the water tower door gimmick, but it’s still in regular 1v1s and 2v2s. The TT Tower is currently only in rifts right now. They’ll officially add it later this season
Idk man a lot of your complaints seem like reaches. Ofc you should have to restart ranked with a new character. Thats a good thing. I’ll give you hit boxes being not super accurate but one of your clips your opponent literally dodged. Ofc your not going to hit the attack😭
Too many spammers in multiverses. Currently plat 2 and about to stop playing completely. Taz has two horrible attacks that should be put on a higher cooldown. Jack spams side special none stop no cooldown on the move and super cringe… Iron giant takes 160-180 easily and can tank and also has 0 to death combos… a few others I’m probably forgetting atm. Also not to mention the game is super grindy like bro I want to play other games too not only multiverse. Need to be easier to get to master and more xp for Ws
The gameplay for Multiversus sucks. That's one of the main issues. People complain about camping finally see how trash the core gameplay is, but still think nerfs and buffs would help. No, the game's core fighting system needs to be turned back into beta. A lot of players in the Multiversus community have no skill. They're carried by the character.
I swear I feel at times I do play against people who never played a proper platformer and you can tell the difference 💯. But people get rewarded for spammy options and running away (shaggy) and that's not fun to play against.

Multiversus is just hitbox messes, constant stuns and people spamming the same move, and no co-op vs AI meaning that I have to fight against people who sweat like their parents' divorce is on the line.

Yes the ranked rp is rigged in platinum..takes away 3x as many points you would get if you went 2-0..somehow you get more rp for going 2-1 than 2-0..-31 for going 0-1 when my teammate kills himself on purpose and backs out before 2nd game..today I played 3 time where we won 1-0 it bugged out each time and we didn't get any points or in other situations you get 10 points at most for basically makin them quit after 1-0..game is always right player is never right when they know the game is buggy

It was possible to get a strong friend to just carry you to the bosses in Rifts, skipping all other stages, to unlock Agent Smith.
I helped my Godson unlock Smith in a single day right before the season ended...
The hit box thing is so extremely funny bc they addressed ALOT of that during the beta, a whole saga of the beta was about the hit n hurt boxes just for it’s official release to come around and remove all those changes they made LMAO.
I will still play this game for as long as I'm able to, unless they majorly screw up, because I just really like the core of it, the characters and their movesets all in a Smash-like game is a dream of mine come true, a dream originally composed exclusively of Cartoon Network but I love the addition of Looney Tunes, other non CN animated properties and even Jason, from a series of movies I can't even watch without getting nausea, has become my main
But I am not blind to any of the game's problems AT ALL, from the way too slow speed to the tiny ceiling blastzones to the constant rotation of new broken loops and combos each update, the obnoxiously greedy gatekeeping for grinding for hours on end each day, the unfair Looney Difficulty that can't even be beaten with max gem levels unless you get lucky and they self destruct before ko-ing you, giving everyone a free salt sticker, when I grind to get those sweet Battle Pass and Event rewards I always keep forgetting why I still play the game, I always do remember by the end but man is it not easy

Agree with 90% percent of your inputs and complaints, except ranked mode; not sure if you’ve noticed but most ranked mode in fighting games, ranking is tied to characters not profile, as well as not being able to switch your character after the first match just to hard counter your opponent. These are fine in my book bc it keeps things competitive and not just techy
I never had trouble rematching in ranked, I started 3 days ago though so maybe they fixed it? Great video btw. I really enjoyed it.
For the debuff mission, Wonder Woman's down special can do that. I thought her DS was supposed to give you an armor but I guess she can cleanse you as well.

One of the 3rd slot gem clean debuff on dodge. For the Bo3 rematch should be optional as many character are fucking tedious to win trough.
I have vowed not to touch this game until they add any of the Warner Siblings as playable characters. And they really REALLY love teasing them it seems since the first new wallpaper for the return of the game has a Yakko and Brain Balloon in the background, and the Season 2 splash art has a Wakko Balloon. So this leads me to believe that a Dot Balloon will appear in the Season 3 Splash and only after they've the teaser will they add any of them. also the Watertower is a stage in the game already.
All these complaints are valid bro, especially with the microtransactions I don't even know what a horror gem or a gleamium is. I just been watching this game developed from outside and like to look in every now and then. But odd, terrible hitboxes are par the course for platform fighters.
In the rift which wanted you to freeze an opponent it specifically wanted you to freeze them either by hitting them enough times after missing a shuriken which is impossible or use superman's ice breath
Well it's cool that they added those medals to events, or whatever the event currency is that week, but now that the missions don't give the required xp, i complete 1 or 2 milestones instead of 4, so it's a big downgrade for people that don't play as much as expected.
They forced rank to bo3 and now it takes 10 plus minutes to gain or lose ranked points which is terrible. Some characters are so incredibly overtuned while 80% of the cast are massively undertuned. They have no clue how to make good maps either. The game feels too floaty and slow, and they advertised it as a 2v2 based fighting game but literally no one cares about or even watches 2v2. This game had so much potential and failed in every way possible to deliver

Dont forget that the balancing is terrible. Im a Lebron main and I have almost 1200 wins as lebron. And let me tell you that it is straight up not fair sometimes. Characters like Wonder woman,superman who has an unescapable zero to death and bugs bunny dominate the game. And lebron has so many issues that PFG hasnt acknowledged,like his still awful side special or his terrible jab. Meanwhile wonderwoman has almost everything going for her. They need to fix the balance in this game pronto.

2.0 release was garbage. After the patches it's mediocre. Still a long way to go to be a good to great game. Depending on the finances WB might not give it the time it needs.

Love, hate relationship cause times im really having a fucking blast playing but then i get reminded of the jank and horrible hitbox/hurboxes and makes me sad. Between fighting the best players in Brawlhalla and the worst players in Multiversus i will stick to the former, idk how to explain it but Mvs is either very unga bunga (your average shaggy main that just throws out really strong attacks) or a passive fest that makes paint drying look like a nascar race (looking at you Joker, and your jab fishing strats), that combined with the stiff movement and wonky balancing makes this game way too frustrating to play
Some stuff you said i think was a little nit picky but I agree with what you are trying to say. This game has potential to be better than smash they just need to go back to some beta stuff. Faster animations and gameplay, Local coop and maybe on rifts too, bug and hitbox fixes are a definite need. Hopefully they end up listening to us. Thanks for making me wanna play again. I loved this game in beta with it's flaws and all and hope that maybe in the near future we can get that feeling back. Ten fold.
A lot of those issues are from smash. Like rank based on character, and not being able to change during a match.
Short answer: a bit. Season 2 is a massive step up but there is still so many things wrong with this game. The game still is fun, though.
They fixed a bunch of fundamental problems with the beta, but at the same time they didn't. PFG doesn't really knows how to balance this game because frame cancelling enables so many loops and broken interactions, where a single mistake can lead you going from 0% to 70%; some characters even have confirmed touch-of-death combos where you will die and can't DI out of it. Not to mention the lack of end lag and less punishing attack decay allows spammers to win by using just one move. Then there are the hitboxes and the servers which are a whole can of worms on their own.
It saddens me because the game has a lot of potential, but PFG's lack of experience with fighting games, let alone platform fighters, holds it back. They should've studied Smash Bros. a bit more before trying to deconstruct it.

The new event style they have going where you have to do pvp to get points is annoying. I didnt need them to remove gold and other currencies just to add new currencies. Also, no new Jason skins is kinda dumb. Ps. I still love the game but staying completely away from ranked and its spammers

Yes it does suck. Rifts still are boring, Velma has no good buffs, rank is filled with players that just teabag and spam salt emote, oh and lag spikes, Jack skin not worth it. Crappy micro transactions. Just log in just to do the event.

I don’t hate the game but it’s 50/50 on why it’s not good right now. The company don’t be fair with nerfs and buffs they’ll nerf ww and immediately buff her and they’ll nerf characters that needs buffs like garnet, smith, and other low tier characters but instead they nerf them and buff characters that’s S tier like Arya joker ww and rank isn’t horrible the only bad thing about rank is it’s riddled with spammers they run away and spam the whole match it’s annoying cause they get away with it cause of the character they’re using even if you win the match you’ll still be unhappy cause it wasn’t a fun match for example jack every jack player in rank just run back and forth and spam jab and side special I seriously be forgetting at times he has other moves because that’s all they do if you run into a ww player in rank they’ll run and constantly stay in the air and spam either fair or nair whole game they just need to do some about the spammers and the point system could be better I shouldn’t lose more than what I gained

Shaggy is the starter character like Jago in KI 2013 so he has to be viable, and Jack is the big reward character for Season 2.

The game is just so slow, it feels like you are playing at 5 fps, the character feels like it does stuff 10 seconds after a button press, i one tricked harley in the beta and loved the way she moved and played now she moves like a tank

Game is still a stingy, grindy, unbalance boring mess. It’s not a game it’s a store with ridiculous prices!
Only reason I still play it is bc I sank over 200 h into it and payed for the season pass, I came back to it to see if it improved but barely any improvements! The hitboxes seem to have been fixed and the dodge seems to actually work on larger attacks/projectiles now, broken characters have been nerfed but other characters are op now so it’s the same song and dance.
It’s weird how the beta was more fun the the full game.
Tbh the match making is terrible first few games were bot lobbies then after 5 games I kept fighting the top 100 players 💀

The WB stage was removed from ranked due to the water tower door gimmick, but it’s still in regular 1v1s and 2v2s. The TT Tower is currently only in rifts right now. They’ll officially add it later this season

Too many spammers in multiverses. Currently plat 2 and about to stop playing completely. Taz has two horrible attacks that should be put on a higher cooldown. Jack spams side special none stop no cooldown on the move and super cringe… Iron giant takes 160-180 easily and can tank and also has 0 to death combos… a few others I’m probably forgetting atm. Also not to mention the game is super grindy like bro I want to play other games too not only multiverse. Need to be easier to get to master and more xp for Ws

The gameplay for Multiversus sucks. That's one of the main issues. People complain about camping finally see how trash the core gameplay is, but still think nerfs and buffs would help. No, the game's core fighting system needs to be turned back into beta.
A lot of players in the Multiversus community have no skill. They're carried by the character.

I swear I feel at times I do play against people who never played a proper platformer and you can tell the difference 💯. But people get rewarded for spammy options and running away (shaggy) and that's not fun to play against.
