I am Grand Sirenis big fan. We have been going to Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya since 2010 and let me tell you, this resort was always really wonderful and very vibrant before Covid. What I like about this resort is that it has everything under the sun for ages 1-99 and plenty of things to do. We always try to venture out to different places and compare everything to Grand Sirenis.. Well we are still searching. The resort always invests back into the amenities, because every time we came back, they would have something new added to it. Last time we brought few of our friends and out of appreciation they upgraded our rooms without charge. Our friends had high expectations coming there and after coming back home they all commented that Grand Sirenis was one of the best for them. We are going back this summer and I am so excited to be there again. Hopefully, everything will be open and I hope to see some of the staff that we have became friends with while staying there so many times.. That's another thing, their staff is working at this resort for many years, so they do care about their employees. I hope you went back after Covid and truly enjoyed all the amenities they have to offer.
My wife, myself and 2 other couples went there 2 weeks ago as a group. Got to say we had a blast! We did a whole week, Saturday to Saturday. Very impressed with this resort. The staff was amazing! One feature you guys might not have known about cause you didn't cover it. There is a "hidden" lagoon a short hike just past the disco. Great snorkeling spot! I definitely recommend you guys going back now that everything there is back open.
Jay and Dee - if you like sprawling resorts in the Mayan Riviera that have a lazy river, you need to visit Iberostar Lindo or Iberostar Maya. It also has a wave pool. Maya is the top-level and Lindo is right below Maya (sister resorts). You get sooo much, with access to a few resorts below Maya and Lindo. Both are a step above Sirenis - cleaner, quality and maintained better.
Oh nice! We've got our eye on some more luxury-style properties for a hopeful late summer trip, but we'll have to look into those as well sometime!! :D
Amazing lazy river !!! We do get a lot more annual leave in England but aren’t paid as much as as our US counterparts... but I love my holidays ( when I’m allowed to leave the country!!!) Waiting for a cruise to somewhere warm so living vicariously through you guys thank you 🙏🏼
This looks like a great resort! How wonderful that you were able to experience it during these days of pandemicness. You definitely looked like you enjoyed that lazy river, and how nice that the resort was so non-crowded so you had lots of room to yourselves. Sad that so much is closed; I'm sure it's been quite difficult for those places that depend so heavily on tourism. I definitely LOVED that this resort catered to the cats! Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful experience with us! 🤗
Been there 3 times. Liked it every time. Last time the sea weeds were a problem. I like to return but in Canada the problem is the return. Need to have another covid test. And stay in a hotel for 3 days, then when test is negative you still have to self quarantine for 14 days .

Hi guys Very nice your video. But i decide for Grand Bahia cause the best food Best drinks and Best pláče. We love to stáy in the 4 resorts and have fun. The Lazy River looks Very nice
Thanks so much for this great video! I have a question for you, on the website they mention you can dine at 3 a la carte restaurants per week, is this correct or can you go to one every night? I wanted to check because google translate can be iffy sometimes! Thanks!
When we were there in February, you were able to eat dinner in an a la carte restaurant every night, as we showcased in our actual vlog series. Normally you would only get what the website says, but due to COVID, the dinner buffet was closed so they made other arrangements.
We are thinking of booking this resort December 2021. I’ve read many reports where the beaches/ shoreline are not accessible due to the large amounts of sargassum (seaweed) and the odour emitted from the piles of sargassum. Any info?
We had it booked for this past trip, but after seeing how much of the various properties were shut down, we opted to cancel. We'd love to check them out in the future when they're looking a bit more open though. Looks like a great place!!
Hi Guys ... Just Love your videos on all your Mexico Trips ... My wife and I are going back to Rivera Maya in Oct .. However we are not sure which place to go to either the Sirenis or Occidental ( for he Monkeys ) but they both offer different things .. Which did you guys perfer ??
Really, the main draw to Occidental Xcaret would be the monkeys and having the park next door that you can buy tickets for. The main draw for Grand Sirenis is an awesome beach, great snorkeling, and a lazy river, hah. Otherwise they're both pretty similar in food, etc. So it depends on if you want more nature versus more water features.
@@parodeejay Watched your reviews for this and BP Grand Tulum and am having trouble deciding. If you got to go back to one for free which would you go to again? Thanks for the reviews, great content!
Depends on which you want more... Occidental Xcaret is good for nature and being able to possibly access to the park next door... Grand Sirenis had a better beach, better snorkeling, and better pools!! :D
We were only there for four or five days, and since this trip was in January/February prior to being fully vaccinated, we decided to spend our time exploring the resort.
Hi guys. We will visit Tulum in August, with kids. What do you recommend more between the grand sirenis and the bahia principe tulum?? Thank you very much!!!
Hard to say, since more might be open in August than when we were there. I'd say Sirenis was a better all-around because of the beach, lazy river, and the dinner restaurants were good. Bahia Tulum's strong point was their buffet and their evening shows, for us. So it depends on what you're more interested in.
Yes, we discussed in the daily vlog series our process of making the reservations in-person with the concierge when we went. That was early 2021 and things may have changed since then, but we really enjoyed the property overall!! :D
I am planning to check out this resort. Can you please let me know if they limit 3 a la carte meals for the 1 week stay? That is what I read online. How was the beach? Was it too rocky to enjoy a nice walk? Was there any daily events for older teens? Was the evening performances entertaining?
I went before Covid so I can maybe help? I plan on going back too. Yes we could only go to 3 per 1 week (and one you had to pay for, I think it’s the Brazilian) The beach was fine, I personally didn’t have an issue with the rocks, if you find it too rocky then you could put some sliders on or something. I sometimes do because sand gets super hot anyway. But I don’t think it was too rocky to the point I had to. There was entertainment staff going round trying to get people to take part in things in the pools and such so, there’s also sports bars if that’s more their things. There’s excursions they would be able to do however there is an upfront cost. It really depends on their interest. If you have a bookworm like me at the concierge desk below your rooms they have books and such so for round the pool which was nice. There’s also the spa, gym and theres dolphin shows twice a day I believe. Yes, we locked the theatre. I’m 25 and my sister 29 for reference, there was lion king, magic shows, rock shows. It was actually really good. And I think a Thursday there was a market in you could buy local crafts and they had such beautiful things. I’m from England so it’s twice as expensive to go here as it would Europe for me and it’s for sure worth it. I’m going back in September and I’m really looking forward to it
When checking in or entering/exiting places like restaurants and whatnot, and inside most indoor venues, yes. Outside, not so much. Pretty much the same rules we see all over the place at home.
