Emily it saddens me to think that you and so many others living with some kind of disability have regular problems accessing everyday things on a daily basis. I am so so proud of you, the way you speak up and so eloquently, may I add for yourself and others. You are the most amazing #disabilitygamechanger EVER.
Keep up the fight for yourself and for the millions of others who live everyday with a disability or illness.

I felt this video down to my soul. It gets so tiring to see how ableist the world still is.

It is amazing how much inequality there is still out there in this day and age. So good on you for highlighting the issue Emily, as you always have done, and promoting the campaign. Keep up the great work. Voices like yours will really help to get the message across widely and powerfully. 😊Caps done too of course.

Its so frustrating that people with low vision/disabilities still have to go through all of this. I love how your speaking out! You are making a difference by doing so!!

Welcome back! It's not just the UK, I can tell you. I can relate to so many of the things you listed as problems. My 4 favorite words "you don't look blind". Once I was on a bus and I was sending a text message. I had my white cane. A woman across from me told me I couldn't possibly be blind because I was typing too rapidly on my phone. She ignored me when I pointed out that she wasn't seeing the 5K or more typos I was fixing. She even said she was a volunteer at the CNIB so she was obviously an expert. :sarcasm: I also feel discriminated against as a partially sighted person that uses an Android phone. Many of the accessibility and other aid applications are only made for iOs. I don't think that simply because Apple has had more in the way of such features it should be expected that all blind people use their products. We should be making sure all tech companies are providing as much adaptability as possible.

I hope that you felt able to contact CNIB to let them know that their volunteers might be in need of better training as the 'lady' you encountered certainly seems to be in need of updates to both her information and her manners.

Here, here! Thanks for sharing this. Employment for adults with physical and developmental disabilities is the basis for our foundation. The employment rate for adults with disabilities is only 20%, only 1 in 5. That’s an unemployment rate of 80%. That needs to change!

I once had my dream voluntary job and one of the first things I told the boss was about my epilepsy as well as my visual impairment. Then in 2015 the boss when I’ve had one of my seizures told me basically don’t bother coming back to volunteer because you had a seizure. Not the first time either, the first time he said oh don’t come this sunday because so and so isn’t here and your visually impaired. I know that place better than he does.

Thats absolutely awful! I would have taken that to the press, people can't be allowed to say things like that and actually think its acceptable. I had it myself I once tried to get voluntary work in a charity shop (I won't say which one but it wasn't Scope) and they said I couldn't work there because I had the guide dog.

Fashioneyesta I know. When told he was discriminating he basically threw his toys out of the pram and wrote me a letter. Don’t worry I have a plan to get that job back. He’s going to really get it in the neck. In case he hasn’t noticed you can’t just press a button and turn my epilepsy or my visual impairment off. My epilepsy isn’t controlled at the minute because keppra isn’t working but don’t tell him that. I’ve been putting my plan together since I was sacked. He just doesn’t know.

It’s unfortunate that this is happening in 2018. It’s sad that people get discriminated because of the disability they have or because they don’t seem to fit someone’s ideas of what a disabled person should look like. Glad to see that you made this video.
    Also congrats on 4K subscribers.

Glad you’re feeling better Emily and that you had a good vacation. Everyone needs to take a break from things sometimes it makes sense you can’t always do your video as often as you would like to. I can totally relate to have frustrating it is to have some time even the simplest of activities take you all the time longer because you are given the tools or you aren’t listen to in order to explain how you might better be able to accomplish the task. I think the campaign is something that is definitely needed and it’s great that you are a part of it.

Emily I wish you can come visit Amrica
I really thought that the “UK” was ability free country I guess I was wrong so if I brought my guide dog with me I wouldn’t be able to get that kind of wow talk about discrimination I’m very surprised at the UK would do that no fence to the UK people I love UK boys want to go and visit Emily you should come and visit America we’re not discriminate against sucked if you want to go and have sushi or sushi restaurant then maybe well let’s not go there I was discriminated against because I’m a guide dog owner as well long story short they wanted to ask for paper work But other than that normally and people are just really nice and sweet to me because of my guide dog of course he’s been a game changer for me guide dogs are just amazing dogs to work with to be with specially when he’s a love is not working he’s a love but seriously you should come to America they won’t be discrimination against They treat us people with disabilities because I am legally blind and I also have a disability with a lot of respect for that one sushi place that I want to anyways I’m so discouraged about the UK again I love that you do not love to come visit myself just maybe without my guide dog

I'm so sorry to hear that and all I can say is thank you for commenting and highlighting the fact that disability inequality still exists all over the world. Of course your difficulties are a lot different to mine. I sincerely hope things get better for you and that you are others like you in Romania get the support that you need to live a fulfilled life.
