Native English speakers tend to avoid hard consonants, especially US English speakers. In my native dialect, I pronounce "water" as "wadder" and "mountain" as "mou'in." I struggle to pronounce the ts sound without it being wierd and forced.
When you thing it sounds forced, for German ears it probably doesn't. But to be 100% sure you might want to get feedback from a teacher: www.skapago.eu/en/german-individual/
So it’s exactly the same as “hits” ‘s ts sound in English? Man, it’s gona take a lot of practice to get used to… in English i believe it’s always in the end, never in the beginning
Yes it's like in "hiTS".
ne a german watching this because i have a lisp
hope it‘s helpful :-)
Its so haaaaard D":
I know ;-)
ich diebe dich

Danke!
Gerne :-)
I am always confused when English speakers use multiple sounds for the letter Z in the alphabet.
First time ever I saw a vinyl of 'ZZ top' I was sure it pronounces *Zed Zed top*. I was confused to hear someone say 'Ce-Ce-top'. At least my German teacher in English languages (who learned herself in London, UK) never said CE for Z, always ZED.
Next problem I always have teaching some Geman to refugees in Germany is 'i' and 'e'.
Unfortunately, German 'i' sounds like English 'e'. So I started to spell/explain words like 'Eisenbahn' (railroad): E (like Eritrea) - I (like India) - S - E (like Eritrea) - N -B - A - H - N and now everybody says this A- B - C - D - E like Eritrea - F - G .... ;-)
Z is called "Zed" in UK English and "Zee" in US English.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
