- Sometimes a locations "opens up" again and unveils its best finds.
It was a difficult hunt in a noisy environment next to a construction site. It was the same spot, where I found my latest gold ring. I decided to give it one more try.
The beginning was stressful. I stood next to a path and could see curious looking people passing by. It was a trashy area. Garbage that was left indicated that it must have been detected with "Disc" set above the foil and pull tab range (probably by different people over the years).
Nevertheless I was lucky to find a few overlooked ("Reichspfennig") coins.
When I investigated a spot to my left, "something blue" made of glass cough my eye. I reached for it and pulled the most beautiful bottle I could ever imagine to find. An item I dreamed about. It was a huge surprise, I would have never expected to happen.
Why was the bottle laying there? The bottom was sticking out, but probably not for a long amount of time. A boar family lives somewhere on top of this hill. They are coming down and disturbing the soil, while looking for roots. This was my luck! They must have moved the soil recently and uncovered the bottle.
I also found other nice items and was once again surprised, that it was still possible to extract something good out of this abandoned vineyard.
I hope you enjoyed it a little bit (despite all the noise).
Thanks for watching.

My grandfather used to collect bottles and lots of other things too. He had three small sheds full of shelving and old bottles. One bottle he had was worth over $2000. I enjoy watching your metal detecting adventures. It is my privilege. Thank you for the pleasures of being part of your journey. Andy
Hello Andy, thank you for the kind words. I love finding old bottles. It would be something I could imagine to collect too. I only have to find a way to clean some of them. A solution that (really) works...
Have a great day.
@@MetalDetecting24 sand and water, shake vigorously
Beautiful bottle my friend..When you finally find something like that a lifetime find, makes it all worth the wait, So glad for you,
Stay safe out there my friend and Take care alway's..
Hello Cynthia, thank you. I agree, it was worth the wait. To arrive at this spot at the right time, after a boar disturbed the soil was great luck. Otherwise I could wait for a find like this much, much longer...
Have a great day.
USA here. Your "Blue Bottle" is beautiful, it would go in a window at my house so the sun could bring it to life, I do not care what it was used for it is so pretty. You need not apologize for the noise in your videos there are so few places a person could go that there was no noise. Thank you for your time and all the work you do to bring these videos to us.
Hello again and thank you for watching :). I will think about a nice place for the blue bottle. Unfortunately you are right about the noise. It is difficult to find a quiet place these days...
Have a great day.
Hello !, Another great video and thank you for sharing ! Love that little bottle !
Thank you very much for watching :). Cheers.
Am not surprised you was exhausted after all that digging !! Nice blue bottle. Liked the key "chunky ". Thanks for sharing
It was difficult compared with other spots, but once in a while... Thank you very much for watching. Cheers.
How does anything grow there. The ground is like concrete? Looks like fun, our part of the country is not to old. Oldest coin we have found was 1865 2 cent pieces.. still looking ....
Those old coins were nice. The blue bottle is also. 😁
Thank you :).
You’ve made another excellent video. We spend 11 hours on the beach and find much less than you do in a couple of hours! That is the oldest pfennig I’ve ever seen! Your history is so fascinating. Keep up the good work ~ I hope you find gold or rusty gold! God Bless & Happy Hunting!
This dream of yours is very unusual but im glad its answered already))))the bottle so small and look nice as it is....thank you for sharing this hunt...i enjoy watching it....all finds so fine...hh....
I'm glad you like it, thank you :). I wish you a nice day.
While moseying down a small stream in Maine, I found a small triangler blue poison bottle that I have kept since finding it 20 or so years ago
Great work friend, the gods of metal detecting walk with you.
Thank you very much, I believe they really do.
Have a great day.
Love how you show finding with metal detector and then digging it up. Most don't that.
This is the first notification Ive got of your new videos .great video. Beautiful blur bottle .and I like the mini door to a small safe that was so interesting to dig. To bad we didn't get the rest of it .thank you .have a great evening .
Hello Zelda, thank you for watching. Maybe some day the safe will be complete in one piece :). Have a great day.
WHAT A BONUS, Better than any coin, Whats next on your list to find?
Thank you for the comment. Yes, it was a fantastic bonus.
Right now I don't have any special wishes. Hmm, I would still like to find this coin some day:
www.muenzkatalog-online.de/katalog/muenzen/muenze_372.html
It's not special and probably not even rare, but I never found one and I like the design (the church on the front side of the coin). I would also like to find a thimble made of silver. That would be nice.
Have a great day.
That bottle is beautiful great hunt
Thank you.
Pity it wasn’t a treasure chest or jewellery box but if you don’t dig it you don’t find out🤗 beautiful bottle probably for medicines. Great video thanks again from Scotland🙏🙏
Thank you very much for the comment. I agree, it was the only way to find out. Otherwise I probably couldn't sleep... Maybe some day it will be a small treasure chest :).
Greetings to Scotland.
I enjoy watching your metal detecting program find a very interesting you find some very interesting things thank you for filming all this
Thank you very much for watching. It is a pleasure making videos for people like you.
Love your videos! I'm a metal detecting addict and I really identify with the description on your channel.
I love the fact that you show the hole hunt and not just the good finds on top of the dirt pile but I also understand that many people don't have the will/time/taste to view videos with more than 1 hour. I also love to find things that arent metal while metal detecting, like roman glass and ceramic or stone tools from a long time ago...Thank you very much. Keep up the great videos.
Also would like to ask you 2 questions please.
1 - I see in your videos that most your finds are just beneath the surface. Your settings dont go very deep. Is that your choice not to dig very much?
2- And also I see that you have amazing video/sound quality. Can you tell me whats your video setup please?
Thank you.
Hello Luis, thank you very much for this kind comment.
1. I like to hunt with "Reactivity" set to "3" and "2" tones (because it's a very precise setting and the only option for me right now). It limits depth a little bit, but it gives me other advantages like better speed, precise audio information, better separation and probably penetration in mineralized soil.
If I could push a button and gain 20cm of depth (with this setting), I would press it so hard, that it would probably break.
I have no explanation why my finds are that shallow. When I use other settings (which I do from time to time), nothing really changes. Maybe my Deus is a lemon (I've seen a few air-tests from people with much better results).
2. I'm using a Sony FDR-X3000 as my main camera and a manually focused "Mobius Action Cam" (first version with the stock "A2" lens) for macros.
Have a nice evening.
Great Key find. Very pretty color blue. From using Cobalt in the making of the glass. Nice! And now you have the keyhole! And the Door Lock for the Key.... I thought it was a small metal safe type bank and maybe did have coins. I will have to practice the pull tab trick! :} Maybe she was cold and trying to shiver to warm up in the little sunshine on your sleeve, letting you know there is something for you to find soon.
Hallo Mary, thank you for the comment. :) Yes, everything is complete. If the key doesn't fit, I can try one from my previous video.
I thought it is going to be a small treasure chest, but let's be honest - but I think, it would be a little bit over the top. It was exciting anyway...
Have a great day.
P.s. You could be right about my friend The Moth. I think she was trying to communicate. Something similar will happen in my next video...
Nice work. Love the 1855 coin, now thats getting real old ....... by our standards here in Australia, (for coins anyway). The piece of iron you left behind, could that have been the worn tip of an old sword? Great hunt MD24, really enjoyed it :)
Thank you very much, I consider "1855" as old too. Even when some of my coins are older, I still see everything below 19th century as an exception from the "norm".
The iron item was round. If it was flat, then maybe... :)
Have a great day.
@@MetalDetecting24 - ok, I didn't really get to see the detail of that iron thing sticking out of the ground. Kinda looked like a rod?? My bad. You have a great day too MD24 :)
You did not feel it was going to be a great day but I'll say it again you are drawn to good places you found some awesome artifacts. Keep hunting love your finds
Thank you very much. There really is some magic happening...

That's a beautiful blue bottle
Thank you, I like it too. :)

Now I just need some nails :). Thanks for the comment. Have a great evening.
The cobolt blue bottle probably contained some type of medicine, date circa 1820 to early 1900s.
great fines and video congrats on the bottle thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching :). Have a great day.
Hi, today's part is always great and thanks for it.
Thank you very much. Have a nice day :).
How do all these coins get where you find them ?? I don't understand.
That's the mystery :). I assume, in this case, people were working there, taking off their jackets etc. Once a coin falls out of the pocket, it's very difficult to find (without a metal detector).
Have a great day.
We're there any wars or settlement there many years ago??
Great hunt and very nice bottle. ;-)
Thank you very much. Cheers :).
@@MetalDetecting24 btw, i must be one of your biggest fans in belgium. 😅
Think your hunts are very inspiring. So inspiring that i bought a deus myself. I have it one week now. And the movies you share help a lot to understand the machine. Thanks a lot! 👍
Do u prefer the pick u could definitely damage bigger cool items?
your box shaped find I would think is a door lock as you suggested...really nice video with a varied selection of finds
Thank you very much.
Omg congratulations my friend!
Great find -talking about them old coins Long time ego l have allot of them together with silver and paper "Mark "in my collections Thanks for sharing this video God bless You and happy hunting
Hello, I am new to your channel and was wondering if you ever have worries about digging up unexploded ordinance from the world wars? What detector are you using?
Metal detecteur xp deus very good
Hello Charlie, thank you for watching. To answer your question, yes, "big objects" are always a concern. I take it very seriously (to a reasonable extend, because even when I'm trying to be careful, anything can happen...).
As "franck weber" already mentioned, the detector is called "Xp Deus" (with 9" "HF" coil).
Have a great day.
Wow!!!
Thanks for watching :).
@@MetalDetecting24 You are welcome! :)
How do you like using the pick axe? Compared to a shovel?
Hello Linda, I like it more and more. When I first bought it, I tried to cut hard soil with the flat side, instead of using the tip and then the blade). The metal on this pick axe is too soft for that.
Now (after a long break) I have changed my approach and it seems to work. I'm getting very efficient with it.
The shovel would be useless in comparison, it could not even penetrate the soil (on many occasions). I think, I will use the current (pick/knife) combination for a while (but I still have tons of recorded footage with the knife alone, or the shovel...).
Have a great day.
I live in Tennessee where or ' soil' is hard red clay. Shovel not much help here. Thanks.
Beautiful bottle congrats!!
Thank you. Have a nice evening.
What’re those cameras that you use? The main one and the little one.
The diamond-shaped Hitler Youth badge came out of the grip of a Hitler Youth knife. After the war they could be bought via the Post or in military surplus shops, and many were brought back as war souvenirs by veterans -- my 2 eldest brothers had a couple. When the West German Boy Scouts started back up around 1949, they removed the HY insignia from the grips and replaced them with Scout insignia. They show up on Ebay all the time. But who was the German guy before WWI who lost his pocket change? A German tourist getting bizzy with some English farm girl? Hmmm....
Thank you once again :).
Can you please at some time give a description or where you purchase your equipment your cameras and machine thank you
Hello, I don't have one particular place where I buy my gear. I bought the Sony camera on Amazon and the Mobius Action Cam in the UK. My (Deus) detector is like "Frankenstein". I bought it (complete) in Austria a few years ago, but I've purchased the newer HF coils in Germany (from two different dealers I believe) and the 11" coil in France (because they had a better offer).
I would suggest to look in your area for the best offer and/or a dealer with good reputation. Today I would probably consider something used from Ebay.
:) nice finds again. a medicine bottle perhaps. one fly is stucked in my ear. maby next vid out ;)
Thank you, the mosquito came at the wrong time (like they always do...). It will not be present during my next video, but I fear that it might be coming back... :D.
Have a great day.
Moths warm up their flight muscles by vibrating their wings.
Thank you, I read about it, but is it really the truth? Hmm... Maybe something else is happening during this time, "we" (humans) haven't figured out yet...
Have a great day.
If you don't mind me asking what is that little recorder
I seen lots of old blue bottles never picked them up
Enjoyed the video. What brand of metal detecting knife do you use?
Thank you, the knife is called "Hori Hori". "Nisaku" is the (Japanese) manufacturer. Here is their website with the exact same knife: www.nisaku.co.jp/en/product/outdoor-articles/knife-products/no-800/
I hope it helps.

As I watched you dig out that very difficult target, the thought ocurred to me it might be the tip of a D-8 cat! 73 Ed Helena, Mt
Thank you for watching. Hmm, I don't know Ed. I think, it would be a little bit too thin for it. If there was a massive chunk of metal attached to it underneath, the detector would probably tell it. I believe (whatever it is), it's probably a single item. Maybe some day I will find out...
Have a nice day.
Tnx for your thoughts, kep the vids coming, I really enjoy them 73 Ed
really nice example of a small blue apothecary bottle in great condition..long neck could suggest it had a cork that had a dropper for delivering the required dosage .date wise a little tricky..so I would think mid 1800s to early 1900s.its even possible its Bristol colbalt Blue glass and manufactured in Bristol,England not far from me actually .. as they produced many of those types of bottles..very nice find
Thank you once again for the comment and your suggestion.
Hi love the vids, what dectore is this?
Thanks
Viel Erfolg! 😀
TELL THOSE WORKERS TO KEEP IT DOWN, WE ARE TRYING TO WATCH A VIDEO!, THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS.
Hallo MD24.
Why you dont use flecktarn camo ? In the woods it is "der beste"
I don't want to look like a soldier. "Normal" clothes (with neutral green/brawn colors) are the better option for me. I also (often) take the bus or a train. I think, I would stand out wearing camo... and I prefer to "blend in".
Have a nice evening.
@@MetalDetecting24 Interesting opinion ! )) Here in Russia we almost all (detectorists) wear army camo and gear - belts, pouches etc ))))) And many of us including me wear bundeswehr flecktarn camo as it best in the world )))

Yes it really does. I think, I should use it more often.

Thank you :). It is always nice to find keys.

I think the first set of lettering on the square tablet shaped object is ENGUE which might be apart of the word DENUGE : an acute infectious disease caused by a flavivirus (species Dengue virus of the genus Flavivirus), transmitted by aedes mosquitoes, and characterized by headache, severe joint pain, and a rash..it could relate to something that was the treatment of......also would be in line with the small blue apothecary bottle you found...thus something else medical related
Thank you very much for the comment. I used wax and could see the letters a little bit better. It it difficult to read, but I believe that it shows what I have suggested. The letter "G" might be a 6, or maybe not... Thank you. Have a great evening.
Too bad that blue bottle has no markings on it!! Could it be a medicine bottle? In the early 1800's it wouldn't be unusual for heroine, or some other narcotic, to be commonly on the open market....
Hello, yes markings would help to ID the bottle, but I'm sure that it's still possible. I really can't tell anything about its purpose, but I could imagine it being a medicine bottle. Maybe we will find out some day...

Hello David, thank you for watching. This is the way I hunt. Talking would disconnect me from nature and disturb my thinking process. I think, the outcome would be different.
Have a great day.
@@MetalDetecting24 I'm sure the outcome would be different also. Mainly because Most people watching videos are expecting this form of communication to be both visual and audible. I can understand how you feel about disconnecting with nature but at the same time it seems to me if you were hunting or bird watching that might apply but when digging and filming it seems to me you are already disconnected from nature in a way. And as far as disturbing your thought process whether you are thinking it aloud or silently in your head seems like you are still thinking it. Not saying the way you are doing it is wrong ,because everyone is entitled to create in their own way. I'm just saying it is sort of like going to a video and all that is there is the audio. You lose so much communication when you limit one or the other.
YOU BORE ME
Why no talking?
You do know that people aren't that stupid ?
Just can not watch your posts anymore. Just bored of watching you pick up foil etc. Videos are far to long and why you may find picking up scrap interesting it's not. You would be far better off editting your videos in my opinion. Sorry
