Huey was born in NY. I just admire his and the band's talent. One with the music. Their bodies, their instruments, all one thing. When I hear Huey, I think of beaches and youth, a day when you wake up and know it's going to be a great day, not a good day, a great day.
I was at that concert. It was great... however, they weren't using any standing wave cancelling technology then and there were some really wicked standing waves. At the time, some people avoided seeing concerts at Tokyo Dome due to the horrible acoustics. When the Rolling Stones came later in 1990, they invested the time and money to get the acoustics right (there were - I think - eight shows there). It was the first time I remember hearing about setting up speakers in strategic places in the venue specifically to cancel out unwanted sound effects.
@@lylehsaxon I was there too!! ;-) Enjoyed the concert even though the arena was "way too big" and not adapted soundwise!! Managed to wander around nearby Tokyo neigbourhoods after the show and celebrated NYE piling soja beans with friendly people. Great, greta memories!!!!!!!!
@@jean-charlesmarchionni2676 Remember Brian Adams coming on stage and saying "I can't believe the eighties are over!"? Time's relentless flow forward....
Now that I know this is out there in HD somewhere, I am extremely frustrated that I am unable to see it and have it on Blu-ray. This is an incredible show of the boys in their prime!
@@LoopConnection Maybe so but how crappy is it to pull something, extremely rare, off of YT just because a record company (or some other entity) can't make a buck off of it? I used to have dozens of rare tv performances, of popular 80's artists, here on YT but I got take down notices on 3 of them & ended up losing my entire channel. So now nobody gets to enjoy them. It's especially irritating considering that what I had up was really old & couldn't be purchased or found even on the artist's own websites. Meanwhile you have ppl, who live in non - U.S. countries, posting entire concert videos (that can still be purchased on dvd) on YT & the artist's & record companies don't even blink an eye because they can make money off the advertisements. It just smacks of selfishness & greed IMO.
Full Concert 1. The Heart Of Rock And Roll 00:03 2. Heart And Soul 6:07 3. Build Me Up 10:39 4. Free Love 16:08 5. Perfect World 20:40 6. Whole Lotta Lovin/25:30 7. The Boys Are Back In Town 31:25 8. If This Is It 37:34 9. Shake, Rattle And Roll (Cover) 45:57
Attended this concert at the Tokyo Dome and spent the night wandering and celebrating the new year in local neighborhoods!!! Great memories!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Don Henley and Huey on the same stage, is like the heavens have opened up and shined on us mortals.

So, the NYE 1990 lineup in Tokyo was Don Henley, Bryan Adams and Huey Lewis & the News? Wow! Sign me up.

They seem to perform such good music. I really appreciate there song selections.
Two months ago someone posted the full video in HD with the full setlist but UA-cam deleted it. Such a shame, great concert!
Mikikk001 UA-cam does that. I uploaded Huey live SNL 84' and that was shot down within an hour.
The problem is that this concerts has no money value...why they put them down. They aren't avaiable anywhere
