Looks like a minor manifold leak [best guess] and could be anywhere between your mass air flow sensor and the valves. If an injector is stuck, the entire rpm range goes out of whack, and the engine is rough at all times. With carburetors, an intake leak was simple: you lean out hard at low rpm [making exhaust manifold super hot], and the higher the engine speed the more normal mixture becomes and it stops running hot. With computer control, you can get 'hunting' at idle - O2 sensor data calls for mixture adjust, which adds fuel and the rpm goes up as the entire engine is being fed too much fuel because computer data assumes certain mechanical integrity conditions. At higher rpm's O2 data gets back into the programmed curve [relative to other sensors] and the computer lets mixture go back to normal and engine speed drops back down. It's a yo-yo effect that is annoying, but it does confirm your sensors are probably working properly - if the engine runs hot most of the time I would try a swap on MAF sensor once before tearing manifold off, as they occasionally get a deadband/error. In those cases though, the engine may want to die often when coming to a stop on top of running hot. Follow Justus Smith advice on checking for cracked intake boot first: if that's not in good shape, further troubleshooting should not continue.
Justus Smith if the intake boot fully disconnected would that be the problem why it stalled on me when I accelerate?? I reconnected it back and tightened it. Now when I go to accelerate it doesnt stall on me but i am too hesitant to drive it around
My Volkswagen is having the same problem it’s definitely a hose leak, or any other main air intake parts, I would definitely clean the throttle body, but I already found my leak it’s a little green cap that has a hole in it. But Im probably going to clean the throttle as well. I’ll get back to anyone as soon as possible.
Just bought a honda civic 2013 was having this problem changed the spark plugs ingition coil then I found out the air intake tube is ripped ima replace it and see if that was the problem ima clean the throttle body aswell
solve the problem my honda civic 2004 has the same problem code p2279 and grabs exactly the same I can not find the leak of somebody intek. to help me.
Had the same issue my car was misfiring also and had bank one lean so I took it to the shop they said the intake manifold hose was loose and they fixed it so far no engine light driving fine and it’s power is back

cool i had the same issue my car was speeding up without my foot even on the gas pedal, i checked my mass airflow hose and it was loose!
This is exactly what happened to me. It was jerking right under 20 kms/hr
Thank you so much that’s the same problem I was having I thought it was my transmission
So did I.

jacob chapman so what did you do? Or how much was it to fix it?

P2282 cnt find leak chevrolet sail desel
Anyone have the truck shut off when stopped to long

What was the issue? What was the fix
How long did you stay with the engine light on before going to the mechanic?
I have the same problem
clean out your throttle body, that should fix it also check the maf sensor
That's called downshifting

Check for a broken or cracked intake boot.
