Fields tape is atrocious. People are acting like racism is making him drop, but no it’s because over the last 4 months the coaches are really digging into the film and they don’t like what they see. Most of fields plays are one read plays where he processes info very slow and doesn’t make his throwing decisions quickly. He rarely drops back and just doesn’t have the type of tape you need to be a high 1st round pick.
It was actually Zac Wilson at the time of the trade up to 3. They thought Jets were keeping Darnold and going Sewell or something. Then pro day vid happened and the Jets traded Darnold and locked in on Wilson. Mac Jones was second choice, but literally nobody wanted Mac at pick 3. No media, no fans wanted it. So they re-evaluated Lance and were comfortable with him there.

And it’s not a Taysom Hill situation because he can make all the throws but the ran element is added & it’s now 11 on 11 instead of 10 on 11 knowing the QB won’t run when Jimmy’s on the field

I honestly don't think it's that bad a situation for Jimmy. You heard trey in the post-interview, he wants Jimmy to teach him everything he knows, this gives Jim time to play healthy and maybe go somewhere else in a couple years for a decent career

I told fools at the end of the season that at #12 the Niners have a chance to pick up Trey since he was sliding under the radar and there were already a number of more famous QBs that would likely get picked up first. Shanahan must see something really special in this kid to have this plan in place for so long and still pass up on the bigger named prospects after all the bowl games 🤔 #BangBangNinerGang
