Yes . Some people want them to be with other people. Whitley and Byron or DWAYNE and Denise but once we had Whitley and Dwayne it's hard to change that they were like a perfect puzzle ❤️
One of the best TV romances. They really helped each other grow. They made mistakes and they had real arguments. Different world hit so many topics with care and this was just another one.
Whitley was the type of woman a man had to stand up to or she would run all over him. Dwayne stood up for himself but he was respectful. Whitley understood Dwayne loved her but couldn't be controlled so she got her act together when he had to put his foot down. She could be downright spoiled, bratty, and entitled and it's just not attractive to men with substance. That bullshit would've worked for her rich politician almost-husband who was just looking for a trophy anyway, but not the strong and grounded Dwayne.
Dwayne's conversion to being a stud from being a nerd is a true inspiration to all young men, especially ones who are students at the University or college who don't come from money. I know he was to me
I love that they made her FEMININE...she learned to stand up for herself and always spoke her mind, but she was always a damn WOMAN. She didn't try to lead, she wanted Dwayne to assume that role. That was their whole dynamic. This notion that you have to be masculine to command respect as a woman is a dangerous game women will continue to lose at.
Leave it to a clear sexist and chauvinist to assume women abide by some principle they need to "act like men" or be masculine to command respect. A lot do, but many don't. 🙄
As usual another echo chamber where men interpret things wrong. Whitney was never subservient to him. He treated her like a partner but they both had strong personalities. Their ability to communicate better over time is what made the relationship successful. A lot of men would have run away from someone who knew what they wanted in life like Whitney. So this is the exact opposite situation of what you typed out. There is nothing unfeminine about that. It’s really disturbing how you guys keep tying femininity to subservience.
@@EmptyMan000 The hilarious part is that their definition of “masculinity” when it comes to a woman keeps changing. Its funny how the guys writing this type of stuff would have cowered in front of someone like Whitney and called her a man. Whitney needed someone who could match her. Nah
@@SoldierOfLoveForNow lol, why not?
@@marckristian81 Seen various dudes act like Dwayne to compensate for exactly not growing up with a father. You're full of it.
Nothing sexier than when a man takes control of a situation the way Dwayne did with Whitley. ❤❤❤❤
Tell Julian I said hello okay. LOL.
That was funny as hell.
This is how I want a man to respond to me! I know we women can get catty, bratty and head strong but God BLESS a Man who will meet me where I am to ELEVATE me ❤ This was true PARTNERSHIP! GO HEAD, DWAYNE (KH) 🎉
Dwayne dancing up the stairs 🤣
Dwayne kept Whitley grounded. She new what she needed. Innately. One of the greatest TV love stories ever., especially in the black community.
They ended up being the cutest couple and perfect match
Yes . Some people want them to be with other people. Whitley and Byron or DWAYNE and Denise but once we had Whitley and Dwayne it's hard to change that they were like a perfect puzzle ❤️
That coat flip gets me EVERY TIME
I loved the show once Denise was gone! Debbie Allen did in excellent job
1:06 “You LIE like a rug! Go sit down!”
Dwayne knows how to put a women in check and make it sexy and respectful at the same time.
I used to love those moments. Dwayne put up with a lot of isht (Whitley's personality made that a necessity), but he stood his ground as well.
"you lie like a rug" and the way they both flip the clothes they're wearing always takes me out 😂
We need to bring back some of that masculinity!!
HE TOLD HER TO COME ON & SNAPPED HIS FINGER🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Excellent show, Excellent couple.
Never heard of this show and now I’m binging clips and already in love with these two
Back one there was a live studio audience and it really added to the show.
0:53 This was amazing acting!! lol i felt this 🤣🤣 real talk
Such a beautiful couple and college experience 😍
Great to see a him being a man with his woman.
The greatest show ever with a great cast!
One of the best TV romances. They really helped each other grow. They made mistakes and they had real arguments. Different world hit so many topics with care and this was just another one.
Nothing sexier than a man who knows how to check his woman respectfully….
I love it when you take charge daddy!! 😂🥰💯👏🏾
Dwayne Cleophus Wayne.
Whitley was SO damn fine!! And gorgeous as hell
So basically, I need a Dwayne..
Nah I will take the other guy she was going to marry.
I was so inlove with this show especially when they put Dwayne & Whitley together. 💓💞
I loved watching this show, it was so well written.
Debbie Allen....Nailed it!!!! I grew up on this show, and I love it still today 2023.
“5 minutes Dwayne”!!!!
This is my moment!! So sit down woman!!😂😂😂
Amen.

Its so sad on fragile they sound.
Whitley is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen.
And that voice with the southern accent just makes me melt.
