I work at a assisted living facility. I blocked Fox News on every television in the building. Turns out the people are more happy. Less anger going on.
I can't believe you got away with that. My mother was in a nursing home and had her own tv in her room and had Fox on 24/7.

Lucky you...I used to work at Planet Fitness & our cable service was out of whack for 3 days & while we could get many channels, Fox wasn't one of them & the magasheep cult members whined endlessly 24/7 & flooded us with complaints claiming we were deliberately boycotting Fox "News"...
One guy who was clearly in need of a 12 step program threw a fit when I pointed out that someone as clearly intelligent as him should be able to figure out how to stream Fox on his phone for the brief time he was there if he was that desperate....🤣🤣🤣🤣

I legitimately didn’t know there wasn’t a day that was trans visibility day. It’s very visible. And just about 1/3rd of the year is now an L G B T or Q declared religious day or month.
Just keep in mind that the total number of trans children in the US is a fraction of the Palestinian children that Biden has murdered in the past few months, most of them in bed, their own bed or a hospital bed. This is just Biden trying to deflect by virtue signaling.

As an European, I find the degree to which so many American Christians (particularly evangelicals) conflate ‘being Christian’ with all other aspects of their worldview quite simply staggering.

"Biden declared"... no. He didn't. The calendar did a funny. Easter technically landed on Trans Visibility Day. So unless Biden can control the calendar... I don't think it's his issue. In fact he made sure to include both religious people celebrating Easter and trans-people. I think that's great.
As an atheist, I think Biden did a great job of it. He is true to himself and supportive of both communities. He brings people together rather than setting them against each other.
You can't put a religious decoration on an egg for the White House egg roll. Even though it's easter. I don't know how you think that is inclusive to religious people. Also tdov is not a recognized holiday on the national level. The only reason it is so is because Biden proclaimed it to be so and he establishes that date based upon a 15-year-old tradition. He could easily have chosen to put it on the Monday in deference to a 180-year-old tradition

While on a semester in canada I met more trans people than I ever did living in Germany.

i love how it would have been 99% easter and 1% trans visibility in terms of attention and discussion, but throwing a fit about it made the two equal. like, if you just bit your tongue about a short mention of trans people then you could have had your christian day. maybe the problem isn't that trans visibility day is march 31st but rather that in order to not ever risk overlapping a holiday with easter, you couldn't have any holidays between mid march and mid april.
Interesting that Jesus's death and resurrection aren't specific, known dates on the calendar but instead a vague March/April "weekend vibe" after a full moon or something. Obviously if it were a real date, the anniversary of that date wouldn't change from year to year. Seems very sus.

Two problems with Trump's declaration. First, Marble Collegiate, on New York's 5th Avenue, is a Reformed, not Presbyterian, church. And second, though the Trump family does have a history of attending Marble, officials there quickly sent out a statement saying Trump "is not an active member."

Someone in my area was outraged that County offices were closed 4/1 to celebrate the State Holiday of Cesar Chavez Day (3/31). He was upset that they weren't closed for Easter Sunday on Monday.
Easter is not even on the same month every year. I prefer an ignorant person to a willfully ignorant one.

I totally agree with anyone who says male/female is simple biology. Transgender is complex biology. It doesn’t fit the simple rules that you learn in a general biology class. But if they were actual biologists, they would understand that biology breaks its own rules all the time, and so transgender people existing should be of no surprise whatsoever.
I remember when I was growing up, a comedian (can't remember which one) was talking about how weird biology was. He said something like he was watching a nature program and it sounded like they were just making it up as they went along. "Yes, that's the male seahorse." "Sir, it's...giving birth." Can I ask you a serious question if you're not making fun here; in regards to pronouns, I'm trying to understand a bit more what the problem would be for someone genderfluid to be either he or she, like does it matter if someone says he or she in regards to you since you kinda identify as both and neither? I'm trying to understand what the point of they/them actually is. And I get you can't speak on behalf of everyone, only on a personal level, but I'm curious.

@@TexansF4nWell, to be literal I would expect someone identifying as both to be plural enough for “they/them”. Same for multiple personalities, tongue in cheek! We’ve never had a pronoun I am aware of for “none of the above”. And Cousin Itt is inappropriate outside of the Addams Family. Asking or being told sure helps.
@@nustaniel This is basically why the custom of informing people of their preferred pronouns in places like dating profiles, bios, etc. is a thing. To avoid this kind of confusion. Unfortunately, to conservatives, the very act of telling someone what pronouns you use, or asking for theirs is somehow an insult.
Also, please note that I used "they/them" pronouns to refer to a person whose gender identity is unknown - as has been the custom for centuries 👍

Even people who are gender fluid will usually take time transitioning from one form of gender expression to another, and if it is day-to-day they tend to hover in the middle of the spectrum rather than rapidly switching from one extreme to other.
None of their arguments have ever been based around what's happening. Kids are getting mostly counseling and the word for it is gender affirming care, in Republican vocab that means scalpels are involved. The hur hur im an attack helicopter or xyz object has always been nonsense distracting from the fact that people are making 1 of 2 choices to be one or the other, at its core it's dehumanizing in nature.

My favorite part of easter is when it's over, all the chocolate that is on sale! I'm old, my kids are grown, and can't afford treats all the time. On sale chocolate is my miracle!
