I’m only 6’1, but I like the extra length, it’s great for completely stretching out. I have use this liner for the last five years and I love it. While it doesn’t add no 25° to your sleeping bag, it’s probably fair to say 7 or 8°. But what I like best is that you don’t feel the cold spots in your sleeping bag when you’re repositioning and it keeps your dirty skin and oils off of your down bag. I guess $ for such a small piece of gear at around $100, but it’s one of my favorite pieces of gear.
I live in Asia. The lowest temperature we get here is about 14 degrees Celsius. Do you think it would work as a standalone item without using the sleeping bag in those temperatures?
It’s difficult to put a specific number on it. Warmth is such a subjective thing. For me, it easily adds 10-15 degrees and also adds a lot of added comfort to a sleeping bag as well.
Debating on the extreme vs the compact plus, which is one grade lower. Lighter and not as long. The extreme is 6ft 11", while the plus is 6ft. Even though I do want the extreme, it seems as though it'll be very long and annoying. I'm 5'9, and my bag, isn't that much bigger than me. So it seems the extreme might be a lot of extra fabric at the end. Don't you think?
Yes, we agree the 6ft 11” is a lot of extra material if you don’t need it. It’s possible that it would be rather easy to alter if you know someone good with a sewing machine. Maybe it depends on how important the extra temp rating is for you? The Extreme is warmer than the compact plus. But the Compact plus will still add warmth to your bag, just depends on how much added warmth you are looking for.
Wishing you guys more good hikes

How many degrees do you think they add?
