Aw c'mon. He often lands on key, he just doesn't usually start or stay there ! To be fair though, some songs are not um, voiced very straightforward...ly. Of course Weir made it that way. I guess it's his style. When his eyes were bright and strong they often had a little bit of a cross look, right? I feel like that's something he brings to the voicing and instrument. A certain skewedness that keeps their music from being straightforward, makes it breath in an odd, interesting way.. Among all the other contributing oddities. Two drummers,..etc.
