Happy Birthday To Our Miracle Elephant Twins!

The birth of Yaad and Tukada on October 24, 2022 was nothing short of extraordinary; less than 1% of elephant births result in twins, and there had never before been a case of surviving twin elephant calves in any North American zoo. Each day since that miraculous October morning has been just as remarkable, and it has been an incredible privilege to watch these brothers grow bigger, stronger, and smarter every day. I liked how they let so many of the zookeepers speak! Usually there’s one spokesperson, but this video let everyone share, and it makes me happy that these special creatures have so much love given to them ❤️

I am so glad they have each other and you have kept them together. It is very important for the young of other species, like human young, to have those of their own age to play and learn with. It is really sad what mankind does to dogs and cats, stripping them away from their siblings and parents WAY TOO EARLY! and the breeding programs that use that as excuse to separate are Wrong. In particular elephants roam in herds!! Family groups! Many young together, that stay together!!
