Your videos deserves more views. They are interesting to learn from, well edited and presented, don't get long-winded or too complicated, and are clearly not rushed. Good job! Hope your channel grows, and I guess I will try to contribute to that with a thumbs up! Also a funny little thing. Seeing that t-shirt made me nostalgic as one of the things I did on my first trip to Japan was to watch a game with Rakuten Eagles in Sendai. I didn't expect to see this brand outside of Japan, far less on a video in English about linguistics!
+wizima Thanks for the kind words here! And yeah, when I lived in Japan, I was in Yamagata, about an hour away from Sendai. So rooting for the Eagles makes sense. I have a couple of other Eagles shirts and such, too. ^_^
I'm from the Basque Country in Spain and I would like to thank you for finishing the episode saying "AGUR" that it's mean good bye in basque language. ESKERRIK ASKO = Thank you.
because you guys mention it in the video - THANK YOU FOR ACTUALLY PUTTING CAPTIONS! I like to watch everything with captions and it boggles my mind how many HUGE youtube channels simply don't bother
Finally caught up! Took a while, but learned a lot of great stuff along the way, and looking forward to future videos. Out of curiosity, have you considered setting up a Patreon account? I'm sure I'm not the only person who'd be happy to support.
+12tone Thanks! We'll have a new one out tomorrow, too. And yeah, we've definitely been considering it! Fairly seriously, actually. I think we should have one set up in the fairly near term, although we do still have a few bits to work out. Thanks for the kind words! ^_^
I'm playing catchup on LingSpace videos because I've been away and busy, I had to read about this particular topic for a class a while back and I think this is a good overview.
¡Muchas gracias por los subtítulos! Y también por la síntesis que se expone al final. Muy bien logrado. Me suscribo a pesar de no saber mucho de inglés. English for my bad sorry.
Canadian universities need to step up their game and get some more programs in computational linguistics; only Toronto and SFU have serious research groups!
+Cornelius Sneed That's true, but without some context to tell you that "owe-bot" is a thing, it still doesn't seem as likely. But we'd still have to have something to rule that out!
+Soupy I would like to think that even if we weren't human ourselves, we'd still find our brains pretty amazing, considering all the stuff they can do in such a compact amount of space. But it's a bit hard to say from our perspective, it's true. We're pretty clearly biased. ^_^

+Alex Pigeon Yeah, we really feel it's important, for a lot of reasons. And it's not so hard! We're glad people use them. ^_^

The Misato figure in the background is really cool!!

+Pakanahymni Glad to hear it! And good to have you back, too. I was wondering what had happened to you. ^_^

Computer Learning and linguistics, my two favorite things!
+Soupy Glad to get them both at one time, then! ^_^

One could probably make a case for "Get in their owe-bot." :)

Human brains are amazing! (said the human brain)

Today, I learned that I don't like how "likelihood" looks written out.
+Sekai Kyoretsuna I suppose it's not the likeliest spelling? But it's English, so we make do. ^_^
