Great video. This is a great option. However, it’s too expensive at $600+. There is a head unit that fits perfectly for sale at Best Buy, less than $500 with installation included. I would be all in if the device you showed would be between $200-$300. But at $600+, it’s not an option for me. Thank you for the video though. 👍🏾

How do you install your new "Beat Sonic TAV-CB2-W Wireless S Connect Interface for 2014-2019 Toyota highlanders? I notice your updated link for the new product but could not find a video showing installation.
About the highlander - you said not with 360, will the unit work but lose the 360, or not work at all? Ours is a 2018 hybrid also, does that matter? Thanks
@@BeatSonicUS is it just carplay? what about Android Auto? Any additional info on this issue. All I'm seeing is just a few words...-wont work, not compatible... Why? What happens? Any possible solutions being worked on, or did Beat-Sonic give up on the incompatibility?
@@kythera4045 this works with both carplay and android auto. If you have the Bird’s eye view 360 camera, the infrastructure of the camera system is different as it uses a different series of protocols and LAN signals which complicates how the video input signals triggers work and we were not able replicate it the way we wanted to procure a seamless way to display carplay and utilize the touchscreen for an OEM like experience. As such, if you have the 360 Birds Eye view camera system, our carplay device will not work. Your camera will continue to work but the screen won’t switch over to the carplay screen. Hopefully this answered your question.
If I get the optional harness to re-use the factory USB, will I lose the ability to use thumb drive to update firmware of the head unit? If so, what would I need to do to keep that ability to update firmware? Also, is the new RF antenna wire needed? It seems it would be much better to be able to use the RF antenna already provided with the factory head unit. Does XM still work after installing this?
The kit comes with a usb extension cable that you can route to your desired location instead of using the optional usb harness. New RF wire is not needed but recommended for a solid wireless carplay connection. The RF antenna on the factory headunit won’t be able to provide the reception for the carplay device. Yes XM radio still works after installing this
@@BeatSonicUS Thank you for prompt reply. Understand on the RF antenna wire. Not a deal-breaker, but wanted to get clarity on that. To ensure I understand regarding the USB extension cable versus the optional USB harness to keep using the factory OEM USB port on the console. Are the following things true: Can only have one functioning USB port as part of this particular system, that is either the original OEM port or the port coming from the USB extension cable? And in order to have the ability to update firmware through thumb-drive/USB port interface, the USB extension cable must be utilized and not the optional USB harness/factory OEM port? Apologies for the additional question, just wanted to make sure I fully understood my choices for this. BTW, this is a great video and shows very well the JBL-version install.
@@KenSchoonmaker you can have two functioning USB ports if usb extension cable is used rather than the optional usb adapter. The factory usb plug will remain its original function while the usb extension cable will function as wired carplay and charge your phone via our device
