You are right. People don't take them because they either don't know to check or think they aren't real coins or just don't care. I just started doing this. I found coins on one of my three attempts. Nothing special so far. Less than a dollar in change.

​@@donnash5813like shopping at Aldi, many people do not know or care to get their 25c back when they return cart, I hardly ever use my own quarter for using a shopping cart and actually aquire many quarters in my Aldi adventures.

Guilty of putting my foreign coins same size of 10p into school vending machine in the early 90's. Obviously i regret that NOW. Obv the coin mech wasn't as sophisticated as they are now, having worked in the cashless industry for 8 years in the mid 00's onwards x
