I like how the ripoff characters are slightly different from their “original” designs in “The Copycats.” I guess Gumball has more dignity than to copy the copycats
In the storyboard for “The Copycats” had the designs from Miracle Star, but they couldn’t keep it in the actual episode because obviously they would get sued by Miracle Star.
I love how Gumball didn’t even pretend they weren’t attacking the fakes in the episode, they just took the copycat family, Gumballed them up and said “Let’s throw them off a cliff while they’re in a burning gas truck so Gumball’s family can watch them burn.”

Ngl the episode was good cuz even tho they were evenly matched the gumball family came ontop by using the one thing the "imposter" family didnt have: Anais
The best part is, it's basically outright stated that the reason the Watterson's prevailed is because they had Anais. The other family fell to their firey deaths because they didn't have a knockoff Anais (someone small enough) to unlatch the truck. It's amazing and probably the best thing they could've done to destroy the knockoff family.

Throughout the episode, Chi Chi (the goat boy; his name in _Miracle Star_ is Ki Ki) and his family copy almost everything the Wattersons do, and film themselves doing it, in order to make money off of the videos. So the Wattersons plan a stunt that requires Anais to do a specific action (decoupling the gasoline-filled tank trailer of a speeding semi truck) in order for the stunt to succeed. Naturally, Chi Chi’s family tries to copy this stunt. However, since Chi Chi and Ribbit have no third sibling, they fail spectacularly and go up in an explosion.
