Ian Abercrombie unfortunately passed away before season 7 of clone wars. His season 7 voice was actually done by Tim Curry of all people, and Ian McDiarmid has seemingly become more open to playing Palpatine in smaller roles now (or they just started asking him lol)
I love how both the writers of the Bad Batch and Clone Wars tied the shows into Revenge of the Sith. It just hits different when you hear "And the Republic will be reorganized into the first... Galactic Empire!
Watching the clones cheer and praise the empire like a bunch of programmed droids was scary knowing they once had personality’s but were know fully controlled by the chips
The fact they look like cheap ass programmed animation makes it look even more like they were actually droids mind controlled by inhibitor chips, making the scene even cooler tbh
Pretty much, through the war, good ol' Palpy here been decreasing power of Senate, replacing Senators with people he can manipulate, centralizing power on Chancellor, increasing security measures until it looked like police state At that point, him getting rid of anyone that might oppose him (Jedi and their remaining backers), him declaring Empire was pretty much just a formality
Even at the beginning of a very dark period in the Galaxy, Hunter getting his first glanc at Omega was the sparking hope for a new life for the clones. And a very good one at that.
The funny thing is, despite Crosshair being under the influence of the inhibitor chip, his questioning of the difference is actually a better point than some might think at face value, given that by the end of the Clone Wars, even before Order 66 and Operation Knightfall, the Republic was practically a militarised dictatorship
The Republic pretty much was an Empire at the start of Revenge Of The Sith, Palpatine was Emperor in all but name/title. All this announcement/proclamation by Palpatine did was formalize it. Fact is the Republican became an Empire the moment the Senate gave Palpatine emergency powers.
Minor detail I know, but I’m glad they used Ian’s actual speech from Episode III as opposed to having the Clone Wars VA do the lines,
I agree.
I’m pretty sure Ian McDiarmand himself voiced palpatine in the last few CW seasons and the bad batch

Ian McDirmid actually plays Palpatine in the Bad Batch (as in recording new lines)

Yes, and even with his hood covering Palpatine's eyes, you can still see the yellow Sith eyes even from the shadow under the hood.
@@rashworth080 Yep, I also noticed it👍
That’s how liberty dies, with thunderous applause
Don't quote without checking the words you type.
@@dalmetherian Buddy, it ain't that deep. This is a YT Shorts comment section

Roger roger
And then they slowly phased out the clones cause of costs and most leaders hated the clones or saw them as inferior
not just because of that.
they have rapid aging.
they have a far far shorter life span than normal humans.
The republic was the “Empire” long before this speech took place

You can see a lot of clones praising but yet some of them are see around like they have questions about it
That moment you realize youve been working for the bad guy
Are we the baddies?
Difference... 1 dictator got power by deception
Other basically democracy
Same difference
1rich overlord compared to a group of them
The Republic wasn't a democracy it was a dictatorship run by palpatine
Which is why democracy must be subverted to protect democracy.
Not for the clones. The precious democracy of the Republic treated them as property just as much as the empire did. It made no difference for them.
There’s no difference because the republic was already being controlled by 1 man even before reorganizing into the empire
There is no difference
One rich emepror who is corrupt
As opposed to a corrupt rich senate
There is the Empire is more functional than the Republic
Give the credit to Palpatine hes right about security
Nothing gets done in senate based systems
They debate all day over policy but never get anything done
@@STEVEJobs-l3o Palpatine maybe a scheming evil but his not hypocrite like Jedi
Im talking especialy Ki Adi Mundi and Pong Krell
Watching empire speeches with German dubs makes everything different
Probably a lot more uncomfortable feeling, if I were to guess.
I like how he uses the jedi attack as excuse on his look. I think liar hes sith lord. 😅
The senate speech will always be the seneta speech this versions doesnt exist
There is only one difference between the empire and republic the empire doesn’t have a jango fett army
I am Aku the demon of darkness that sits in the hearts of all men
The inhibitor chip plot was such a disappointment.
