Just because some people haven't heard of them or have just discovered them, that doesn't mean they weren't well known or underrated.

Mutya has an amazing distinctive unique voice, you'd recognize her among hundreds of other singers. I love them equally but Mutya is my #1. Her voice is so edgy that makes their songs sound unique and completely different to those of other girl groups. She plays the most important role in the group. Keisha has a sensual voice and Heidi has a sugary tone. The Sugababes' voices are complementary and create such an unique harmony.
To me, Mutya created that very distinct "Sugababe sound"..You can tell it's their song as soon as you hear that deep, sultry, and soulful voice of hers..It became their signature sound..

In 2010, I hummed on Shazam to search for this song, but I couldn't find it. Until today, I saw a video from tiktok about Google that has an "identify song" feature, just by humming the tones. And eureka!! I found this childhood song😭😭😭😭
Back in the days when pop music was all about properly crafted rhythms, scene setting, layered melodies, with catchy hooks, great vocal interaction and plenty of polished production to make songs sound unique, compared to todays over singing vocal gymnastics, with hollow, generic sounding beats and an instrument/sample or two thrown on top, if you're lucky.
This song is still quite simple - chorus is unisono and only one drum pattern is repeated in a natural and a synthetic form. However, the natural snare sounds very pretty, unlike common synthetic or overprocessed snares. Is it piccolo or some maple? If you wanna hear good rhythms, go for 60s, I think that it is the classic era of drums, 80s became a parody in this regard.

I love Keisha. She's my favourite member of the sugababes, she's so beautiful, such a good singer, talented, brilliant, amazing and I'm a massive fan of her.

Absolutely agreed. Her voice is so stunning and soulful and beautiful. I honestly thought when I was growing up, she was the best part of the sugababes and made the sugababes wonderful and magnificent.

I remember hearing this song in the summer of 2003. I was watching an episode of Top Gear (season 2 episode 4) at the time and this very song started playing in the background.
I was only 3 when this came out and can actually still remember dancing to this in front of my big block TV ... those TVs we all had before flat screens LOL, memories :')

I just watched their concert and these girls are still fire. Was a shame not to see Heidi but siobhan certainly slotted back in well. So pleased for them to have won the rights to the Sugababes name. Go and get the Lost tapes so these girls keep making music 🔥
