Yeah that Xemnas fight pissed me off because I didn't remember Xenmas being that hard. When I got to him in 2.5, his initial grab killed me straight away even though I was mashing Triangle like crazy.
Jesus fucking christ the comments on this video is actually giving me a headache. It shocks me to think there are people this ignorant. So I'm gonna rant. Here's the key thing: He is NOT shitting on 2.5, which, to some of you, is your favorite game ever. Which is understandable; 2FM was a great game, and it's HD remaster was to recreate that. Naturally, many people loved it. However, all games have flaws; no one can deny that. The important part is to understand these flaws, so that Square won't make the same mistake again for future games (aka your beloved KH3). These flaws, though minor, are inherently bad. No matter how much it effects you, no matter how much you care, they are still bad and could have been fixed. NOTICE that not once in the video did he mention that this was a shit game. So you fuckers who are literally trying to defend these things; as minor as some of these complaints may be, they are still inherently flaws. What if this game had faster load times? You might not care, but you can't deny that it'll still be better than slow load times. Although it doesn't affect you, its still true that with faster loads, you won't be sitting through black screens, and you'll actually be playing. UNLESS you believe the game SHOULD have longer load times (which if you do, what the fuck), having faster load times is still a good thing, even if it seems minor and unimportant to you. Missing sound effects? What if the game had all sound effects? Is that somehow a bad thing? The ignorance of your arguments are insane; people who say these aren't issues: YES THEY ARE. They are minor, that is true. The game is still very much playable and enjoyable. But they are still issues, and the game would've been better if it weren't for those. Soft Resets? What if this game had one? Is that somehow a bad thing? The game doesn't have a soft reset; its not bad or unplayable. It's simply an addition Square had the option to add, but they didn't, and this addition made have improved some people's experience with the game (not necessarily yours). I can go on and on about all these issues, but I think I've made my point. The fact that 2FM doesn't have any of these issues, yet its HD Remaster, which is supposed to be SUPERIOR to the original one does, is what ticks people off so much. I think everyone will agree that it is absolutely unacceptable for an HD Remaster to be far worse than its original counterpart. I mean for godsake, they had everything they needed. All that was necessary was buff the graphics/sound...yet Osaka somehow failed in this aspect since they created even more flaws. One last thing before this rant ends, and I think this is the most important thing all of you who are trying to defend these flaws are missing. KH3 is supposed to be a phenomenal game coming out, and we all want the best it can possibly be. That, we can all definitely agree on. However, if you are defending these minor flaws, what if Square repeats their mistakes in KH3 as well? Would you rather have a KH3 that had so much potential, but the experience is diminished by these "minor" flaws and instability (constant crashing/freezing), or have Osaka team realize their mistakes on the HD Remixes and make a "perfect" KH3? The latter option is the best. Being critical of Osaka Team/the games they made does not make us "bad fans" or "haters". It just shows we have a deep level of appreciation of all their games and want the best for their future games. Also Final Xemnas RC glitch is complete bullshit. Absolutely unacceptable and stupid. Ok rant done, peace~
Bob beans Thanks for this comment. Helps summarize the whole thing quite well. The most important thing here is: if we let these issues slide, there will be more small issues like these in the next game. They will screw their customers and fans more and more if people don't call it out.
For the loading times, it won't be a matter for casual players as they only play for once and may revisit it in the future, and that's it. Speedrunners, who run and train unbelievably so many times, would get frustated, and I believe anyone who plays the game tons of times would get frustated as well. This is from a speedrunner's perspective, many people forget abut that. It's digusting people act like they're superior than others, ugh.
I'm a casual player, and I personally can't stand the load times. More important than that though, is the drive form load times. The game was designed with 1.5 - 2 second load times in mind, and only casual players will suffer from this. Speedrunners, will actually suffer less. Speedrunners are skilled/patient enough they can adapt to drive form load times with pause buffering, speedrunners will adapt to faster/broken physics (on PS4 version,) and they will adapt to any other errors if in the end it's faster than PS2/3. If you ask me, the casuals will end up suffering significantly more.
Jeez, people seem to be taking his criticisms of the game way out of proportion. By the way, I don't mind the loading times much, but when it comes to drives, that shit is definitely not okay because enemies can and will recover while your transformation lags. Also, the Xemnas glitch is inexcusable, whether you're a speed runner or not.
RevengeOfMoctezuma There's a thing called a "pause buffer." Yes, Bizkit found this out. When you spend your Drive on a Form, you pause the game. What's interesting is that the game will load your Drive while everyone is halted as the game is, well, paused. This gives you a chance to attack any staggered enemy. You only have to pause for a couple seconds. I just wait until the "E" in "pause" is right-side-up. But yeah, there's no proper solution to the Xemnas glitch. It's very, very rare that it works properly, but it has worked properly once when I tried, but most of the time, it's bullcrap. You can use Riku's Session Limit, then spend one Ether or Elixir as you're gonna want Reflega at all times, assuming you're speed-running the fight.
I'm Nori For the Xemnas glitch, I just substitute the missing reaction command with a reflega. The first time it happened to me, I got kind of pissed, but I guess it's not really that big of a deal anymore, although it can still get kind of irritating sometimes. It was just quite surprising that a glitch like that made its way to the final product. As for the pause buffer, I already knew about it, but I'm still sort of salty about having to do it in the first place, though.
I've been watching your videos a lot lately and I appreciate that you don't toss around tons of special effects and over editing. Thanks for not giving me a migraine.
Actually if they allowed data install on the PS3 it can be as fast as the PS4. Tried it on RPCS3, and even a slow 5400RPM drive can be as fast as the PS4. (Even when the latter has an SSD)
Its honestly mind boggling that the Ps2 version is 2 seconds of loading, Ps3 version is 6 seconds of loading and the Ps4 version is 1 second of loading
Thanks for the video man! I appreciate the information you supplied. I love these games too much that any bad would just be ignored lol. Glad they're nothing serious! Have fun finishing off BBS mate! Subscribed as well :) Peace!
The Xemnas RC has me really concerned ever since I saw one of your streams experimenting with it. I really hope they fix the load times somehow or even fix some of the RC issues. I plan on doing a Critical mode run and I want to do it without having to worry so much about a non-consistent RC move
The first time I played Kingdom Hearts 2 was in 2006 on a PS2. My little brother found it in bargaining box for a little over twenty bucks. I did not play it properly and I did not know how deep of a game it was. I wasn't that big of fan, but now in 2015 I can't stop playing it and I love it. Even got through proud mode with little difficulty. Alright Square Enix, bring on Kingdom Hearts 3! I can't damn wait,
I have one question: What about leveling up the Drive forms? Can you still do the trick where you leave the world via save point while you're in a form, then come back and have full Drive?
Another thing... Load times haven't actually bothered me up this point, except for the Drive Form issue. But the load times in this game makes me wish they'd have come up with the idea to add a retry option on game over screens. Or at least add them to this version of the game. Birth By Sleep has this. I've been doing the Data Battles, and it's really annoying to have to wait a about a couple minutes after failing each time (the load screen to return to the game, selecting the data battle, and the load screen for said data battle).
The european version came in early and it has some problems, as bizkit said load times are shitty and the game freezes for about a second after some actions. The drive loading thing and the xemnas glitch are probably going to mess me up aswell.
Also I wouldn't call myself a casual kingdom hearts player but im not pro like bizkit but still these issues are not okay and could have been avoided quite easily. If square gives these sorts of results for kh3 a lot of people will be angry, even the casuals
I personally didn't find anything wrong with the load times on my first playthrough. Then again, I also watched all of the cutscenes on my first go, so I hardly skipped enough scenes to notice the load speed. I will agree with the Xemnas fight, though. I died WAY more times (On just Standard Mode) than I should have simply because the game wasn't letting me dodge his aerial attacks even when I was rapidly pressing Triangle the entire time. Overall, however, it is a great game. I found the tracks to sound better here than on the original and the gameplay to be just as frantic and fast-paced as it was on the original.
Why are people saying that these are minuscule issues only from a speed-runner's POV? They don't make it a bad game by any means, they just are things that the developers could have improved on. This does have things pointed out and talked on from a speed-runner's point-of-view, but it has still impacted my "casual" play. Sure, bad load times, etc, aren't game breaking issues, however they still negatively impact my experience and Square could have done a better job trying to fix these small issues/bugs.
He wouldn't know exactly how a casual player would play Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix because he's very seasoned, which is why some viewers don't take the video very seriously; his issues with the game could differ from others.
I was wondering if anyone else noticed that during battles some of the bosses quotes were missing. For example, when you battle Oogie and he falls from the cart, he's supposed to scream in agony but every time I play through it he doesn't say anything. Same happened with Jafar and such.
I think it depends on how close you are (or how close the camera is) to said boss for them to say their quotes. I have times where boss dialogue was spoken but then not spoken in the same fight.
God, that Final Xemnas really got my panties in a bunch. So many deaths I felt like I didn't deserve. Kind of relieving to know that it's actually something wrong with the game, and not me just being bad. Haven't touched BbS yet myself, since I intend to Plat IIFM beforehand. But I'm already super grateful for the control adjustments.
I figured out the Xemnas thing. What's happening is that your lock-on sometimes gets dropped when he teleports, and you only get the reaction command when you have him locked-on or at least targeted. Every teleport keep trying to lock on and then react.
I have been trying to do the gummi missions. I have been s ranking every mission and are currently working on ex missions. I have every blueprint except invincible peak. How do I get it?
3:19 I'm not clear on this, but Xemnas's Data battle in 2FM also had the issue of sometimes not giving the prompt for a Reaction Command. I say this because, in MY case anyway, it had a high chance of occurring after or during the third time Xemnas used it.
Just out of curiosity, is 2.5 considered as a different category to 2FM due to the obtuse load times? I completely understand if it isn't, just figured I'd ask.
However, Data Final Xemnas is such a pain. I'm Lv. 99 and he throws in a lot of cheap hits because of the technical screwup, and he's the last person I have to beat in order to get the proof.
DittoMaster6 nope. I was doing a level 1 critical mode run of the game, and the Xemnas fight RUINED me. Reflega works like 40% of the time, and the reversal reaction command almost never works. This leads to me dying every 5- seconds if I get unlucky. Using Riku's session limits help, but fudge you need Reflega for the ground battles
As far as the SFX issues mentioned, I'm almost certain that it's caused by the Remastered Audio Format of KH1.5/2.5 being locked to Dolby Digital Surround Sound, with No Option to change to Monorual or Stereo. Not having DDS messes up the sounds of many modern games because those SFX are now rendered in a type of Stereoscopic 3D, which will place certain sounds to be played beside or behind you as well as in front. Sooo get Surround Sound if you want to hear everything ;)
so do you know if they tweaked the difficulty in 2.5 at all? i remember KH2 being pretty difficult at times when i first played it years ago though going through 2.5 now in standard difficulty i noticed certain bosses are way easier than expected (like xaldin and roxas) also in 1.5 i had a similar experience with sephiroth.
Correction: The music was not remastered. It was re-recorded with live instruments. Remaster would mean it would still be the exact same soundtrack with a few audio inhancements.
ChromeVault What else would it mean? Every time anything gets remastered it’s the exact same thing only that it has been tweaked in some form, be it visuals or music. The 1.5 and 2.5 Soundtracks are not the same synthesized ones from the original games. They are, as I said, entirely re-recorded with an orchestra. The graphics however are mostly remastered, because they are for the most part the exact same textures and polygons as the original games, only presented in HD now.
CJAdams97 Yes, it does. It doesn't exactly load them any "faster", but it stops the rest of the game, so it's not like Sora is just standing there while some heartless get away.
Do trophies really stack? I just beat critical and only got the critical and proud trophies. I don't think I missed seeing beginner and standard, either
Can someone explain to me the whole Zero Exp ability? I picked up a copy of 2.5 HD Remix and never considered equipping the ability (I'm in between casual and hardcore). For what exact reasons do people equip this ability in KH2FM and/or BBSFM besides added challenge? I picked up from this video that in KH2FM at least, Once More and Second Chance can't be equipped at a Lvl 1 playthrough, making perfectly timed blocks/dodges/Reflects absolutely necessary, but are there any other reasons?
Later in the game you can run into a mushroom in the cave of wonders. If your really underleveled its the best place in the game to level up valor form(the mushroom will never die as your too weak at level 1). Also will teach you how to not get hit THE HARD WAY lol. NO seriously it WILL teach you not to get hit, you'll get tired of losing to a boss eventually.
Its for the players who wants to commit suicide lol, now seriously its for a harder experience, your stats will be lower and like you said you wont have access to many abilities like Second Chane, making it even harder. Its like the hardest optional mode (CRIT LV1)
I just found a glitch. In the config menu for some reason when I set the right stick for camera it controls the menu, but when I set it for the menu, it works for the camera... I don't know why either.
I'm so looking forward to leveling up all the commands slowly until i get Stitch's D-Link maxed out. Before i forget i read that they had changed the Mirage Arena fights to make it easier for single player as there's supposedly no multiplayer in it now what changes did they make did they lesson the enemies health or what?
Yeah, they changed the arena quite a bit. Enemies have much less health but bosses gained a bit of a speed boost. They also buffed your Medal gain, in the original the game capped at 999 medals but they increased that cap to 9999 on top of letting you get a bonus multiplier if you mean a condition. You get a crap ton of medals now and because No Heart is so easy to kill now and you get 2000 medals for beating him, it takes no effort to buy anything in the arena anymore.
How easy? i remember that unless you use CWCheat to buff your defence to 255 and have the dark defence buff abilities he one shots you unless you have Second Chance and Once More equipped
And by the time you've maybe played BBSFM, I (and probably you) noticed there are low quality sound effects, like when Vanitas pops off the ground or when Terra-Xehanort's Guardian shoots its lightnings. There's also another detail bugging me : the Aqua, Ven and Terra sprites on the hud still don't change when they take damage and are in critical health. I know it's just a remaster, but this could be done, just like the select sound effects, etc... And did they put the Retry option as the first one when you lose against a boss ?
***** I agree.I've replayed the Original KHII.Now that this is the FM version,I know for sure that I will replay this game a bunch of times! :D It was a pain in the ass to replay KHFM 3 times &6 times for Re:Chain of Memories.2.5 Here I come!
By far the biggest issue for me is the Xemnas fight RC's not showing up, I died there like 3 or 4 times and was so confused since it worked just fine in the last version. Plus it looked and felt so sweet to dodge all those attacks, now you either die, limit, or frantically air dodge/glide your way out of it :(
I got one random crash during the mushroom 13 in christmas town. I was gliding in final form to win but it just randomly froze forever i couldnt eve acsess the platstation menue i had to shut off the console
scalerzodiark They really should consider it though. but knowing Squeenix they won't, they seem to care more about money these days than anything else.
it turns out that the load times in this game can be decreased by getting a super slim ps3. Now I've always had a super slim so this doesn't bother me but for the people who don't are constantly complaining about the load time I hope they are ready to spend some more money.
One weird thing I've noticed, and I don't know if it's my TV or not, but it seems this game is REALLY fast on burning images into the screen. Like if you keep it paused for even a minute, you can see some pixels leftover even when you change the channel. They go away pretty quickly, though. The weird thing is that KH2.5 is the only game in my collection that does it and it's ONLY on the pause/journal menus. Not the battle menus or anything. EDIT: It's been a year since I've written this comment, but it was my TV. I got a new one playing this game on. Then again, it's also on HD.
I played the original kh2 SO LONG AGO so I didn't notice most different sounds or gameplay effects caused by the 2.5 edition meaning I can't distinguish old timeless river to new timeless river and so on.
A better argument would be you don't have to travel all the way to a save point to access the title screen. Say you went into a battle ill-prepared (wrong weapons, items, shortcuts, etc) and you want to reset. Nope, that option is out the door because you can't access a save point during a battle so you're either going to have to fight the battle in a way you didn't want to or set the controller down and wait to die to reset. A soft reset is just convenient. Also, I once hit "title screen" instead of "world map" one time and that set me back a bit.
+Objectorbit Apparently they can't release any of their past games virtually. Some say it's because of Disney not letting them, some say it's because Utada isn't allowed to share her English versions of songs(aka Simple and Clean, Sanctuary, etc.) on any electronic purchase, and stuff. That's just what I've heard though. Dream Drop Distance isn't even in the Nintendo EShop, it just says "check your local retailer."
Not sure if you already know, but he made a pastebin with most changes found by the community. Basically the loadtimes are naturally faster on the PS4 since the game get's installed on the hard drive, but 60fps is kind of fucking with the physics pastebin.com/t9fzcZsk
I'm really glad I wasn't tripping out when I saw the Xemnas RC not showing up. At first the load times didn't bother me, but I'm a bit impatient and it eventually bugged me. Overall I agree with Biz. As a casual player I loved the hell out of 2.5 (barring ruining Final Zebraman).
Got to say that I'm quite satisfied with the game. Even though it might have some problems here and there, I'm just glad they finally bought both Final Mix versions overseas, now we can play that chunk of extra content that wasn't in the original version of both games. Thought playing through critical was going to be hard, but I ended up breezing right through the whole game!
honestly the miss command was probably a porting error, example Majora's Mask on the virtual console has that error of a specific scenario not loading or in the collection the zelda games have sound issues, it could be a porting error which could be the hardest thing to patch
Is he talking about the PS3 version of the game? Cause I’m seeing this video in 2019 and I’ve been playing the PS4 version, which has some really fast and almost seamless loading times.
Speaking of crashes, I did experience one that I'm not sure is an actual problem or just random bad luck. The NA version of 2.5 crashed for me in the first Xemnas battle at Memory's Skycraper. I went Limit Form after he used Return to Zero, and triggering the reaction command to dispel the damaging field caused the whole system to lock up.
So the sounds in Timeless River are messy. The staticsound in that world was so unpleasant to the ears in 2.5 that I thought my speakers were broken or my copy of the game was damaged.
I love Kingdom Hearts, which is why i want the community to point out every mistake they find so that in the future square can make their games even better :) That's just how i look at it.
***** Nope. I hated KH2 for the fact that it was too easy. I wanted see if the difficulty spiked so at least a level 1 critical run felt like it was worth something. I don't care much for the added content since it's been out for who knows how long.
I didn't really notice the load times, but then again, I am a very patient person. I DID notice the time it took to go into a Drive form or doing a summon took a bit longer though, but again, I didn't really care too much, because I'm patient and don't care about speedrunning. No soft reset.... eh.... is it really that important? And I quite liked the sound effects being muffled in Timeless River, and I would have found it weird if they had also muffled the sound for item pick-ups and levelling up.
So what should I play? The PC emulator for KHFM2 or the PS3 version? As it has been shown it seems not worth getting 2.5 unless you only play Playstation. Seems to me the best thing about 2.5 is BBSFM being remastered. That is probably the only reason for me to get it. And please don't come and say that KHFM2 is completely remastered and has tons of new features and "improved" graphics. In fact it has some content removed or censored unlike orginal KHFM2. The emulator can run Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix in 60 FPS, wide screen, AA (Anti Aliasing) faster load times and 4K resolution if you wish.
That's actually only a change made in international releases of Birth by Sleep that was carried over into Final Mix due to the Final Mixes including all overseas content changes (as well as the bonus stuff, obviously). Naturally it carries over into the remake as well.
So Final Xemnas has a broken reaction command, huh. I got to the point where in that fight (data version), I would just once more tank the throw attack because I couldn't rc dodge it, thinking it was because I couldn't get the timing down like I did in vanilla II. I'm imagining it's complete hell at level one, especially the data version and having to refight the first phase every time.
I wish I would have known about the quitting to game menu glitch before this vid, that is 100% an unacceptable glitch that is incredibly annoying to players
I think on both PS3 and PS4 versions, you have an increased chance of random crashes depending on the condition of the disc, i know this because i had a scratched version of 2.5 for PS3 and the game would occasionally crash after boss fights
I knew something was up when fighting xemnas! The triangle command wasn't working to my liking and this is in the english version of 2.5 too! but nonetheless the game is amazing and I play on standard anyway so it didn't affect me too much
the only thing that surprised me in 2.5 is that i got a T-stance while fighting with Leon in the baily,I thought that only happens when using codes on the game (I wasn't using any)
What were you doing during that fight? That normally never happens at all. Since the game was remastered, however, the game used the same code, which means everything from the original game sbould exist on the PS3 port. Unfortuately, that includes the T-stance.
...I guess you were so unlucky? I used Reaction Commands a lot and never bumped into the T-stance. I could try again, maybe, but my Blu-Ray drive gave up on me.
The ps4 version is literally perfect. Almost no load times and sweet 60fps goodness!
"almost" don't you mean "none"
There still are missing sound and voice clips though.
its even better on the xbox series X or PS5
HAHA
The ps4 version is perfect no load times no glitches and sweet 60fps goodness
Yeah that Xemnas fight pissed me off because I didn't remember Xenmas being that hard. When I got to him in 2.5, his initial grab killed me straight away even though I was mashing Triangle like crazy.
yeah that's been a pain for me as well, probs one of the biggest reasons why i'm having so much trouble against data xemnas :/
Jeremiah George Xemnas is super easy
Kh 2 vanilla and fm are better and 2.5 remix. With the patches tho I'd say kh2fm running with mods on pc version is the absolute best
@@dolphinboi-playmonsterranc9668 yea, in my 1 time i defeat him easily(ok before i rush all chests pieces and ultima weapon)
@@oa9164 ps2FM is way better. The pc version of KH2 may just be the worst. Shit crashes atleast every 4 hours
Now that final boss struggle makes a lot more sense. Great video, Bizkit.
I KNEW Xemnas was hitting me way too often when I was fighting him during that part. Glad to know it wasn't just me playing badly.
Underrated channel.
The PS4 version fixed the loading times and the Xemnas Reversal bug.
Playing 2.5 in 2021 on the ps5 is phenomenal. Literally instant load times
Ok rant done, peace~
reading your comment gave me a headache
I also want you to know people can say whatever they want. They're not gonna listen to you, but I agree with you.
Bob beans Thanks for this comment. Helps summarize the whole thing quite well. The most important thing here is: if we let these issues slide, there will be more small issues like these in the next game. They will screw their customers and fans more and more if people don't call it out.

People speedrun this? Shit took me like 40 hours to finish on ps2
It took you 40 hours to beat the original KH2?
SoratheHedgehog100 Just a guess, right now i'm at 18 hours, i just passed the part where goofy died but comes back. i'm pretty slow at games lol
***** me too!!
it took me 108 hours because I kept it on all night while asleep,an kept it on while on school for somereason
Ryan Case lol i did the game on gran truismo when i did those super long races to win $$$
I can't believe there's people in the comments defending the longer load times -__-
I've been watching your videos a lot lately and I appreciate that you don't toss around tons of special effects and over editing. Thanks for not giving me a migraine.
I do like that the ps4 doesn't have as slow loading.
RainMasterXD so fast it’s practically orgasmic
Faster then ps2
Subscribed as well :)
Peace!
I can't damn wait,
***** Sorry, the fanboy got out of me that time. But still, cannot wait for 3.
I have one question: What about leveling up the Drive forms? Can you still do the trick where you leave the world via save point while you're in a form, then come back and have full Drive?
yes, that is still in the game.
at least Phil does'nt keep saying jump on the hydra's back.
Really? I thought it was popular/memetic because it was annoying.
Kinda like HEY! HEY! LISTEN!
Jump on the hydra's back
I'm sorry did someone say jump on the hydra back
*GET UP ON THE HYDRA'S BACK,!*
Edit, first time xemnas uses his grab, no RC :I
Tim Nonnekes "about a second" Wow, how did you manage to SURVIVE having to WAIT ABOUT A SECOND?!
Are you being sarcastic? If so, its dumb to be in game and have the game freeze after drive forms, reaction commands and some attacks.
I know a lot of people hate the freezes, but it sounds so stupid when people are upset over seconds. I mean, it's just seconds.
Thanks for this very informative video.
Good ass video Biz. Well done and very informative
Thank god square actually listened to us when porting this over to ps4. Can’t wait for kh3. 2 more days I can’t believe it
I was wondering if anyone else noticed that during battles some of the bosses quotes were missing.
I'll have to try that out. I was just disappointed because some of the fights don't sound as epic without certain boss quotes.
3:19
I'm not clear on this, but Xemnas's Data battle in 2FM also had the issue of sometimes not giving the prompt for a Reaction Command. I say this because, in MY case anyway, it had a high chance of occurring after or during the third time Xemnas used it.
It's the same exact move, so yes it has the same problem
I love these games so much.
Just out of curiosity, is 2.5 considered as a different category to 2FM due to the obtuse load times? I completely understand if it isn't, just figured I'd ask.
Is the problem with the Xemnas fight fixed in the English version?
No. You can try to dodge your way through or use Session. I died a lot during the Xemnas fight due to being underleveled.
However, Data Final Xemnas is such a pain. I'm Lv. 99 and he throws in a lot of cheap hits because of the technical screwup, and he's the last person I have to beat in order to get the proof.
DittoMaster6 For me, it hasn't, as that and being underleveled made me die I think 3-4 times before beating him.
The most egregious sin? Changing roxas' attack noises to ventus'
I mean ,i quess it makes sense but still weird
I didn't notice the different voice clips until I read a comment complaining about this on Reddit.
so do you know if they tweaked the difficulty in 2.5 at all? i remember KH2 being pretty difficult at times when i first played it years ago though going through 2.5 now in standard difficulty i noticed certain bosses are way easier than expected (like xaldin and roxas) also in 1.5 i had a similar experience with sephiroth.
No, the difficulty it the same. Likely you're just better at the game now, since you have played it before
well i guess when i first did it i was mostly button mashing but still.
No soft reset? What if you press R1+R2+L1+L2+select+start? We could do that in KH 1.5.
Correction: The music was not remastered. It was re-recorded with live instruments.
Remaster would mean it would still be the exact same soundtrack with a few audio inhancements.
Robin Anwaldt
That is not at all what it means.
Thanks, still debating to run 2.5 or not
I saw quite a few times in this video that you pause before entering forms, is some kind of mechanic or trick that I never knew?
The drive forms load way longer than before, so pausing the game helps the forms load
xNINJAxLUMPIAx it does?
CJAdams97 Yes, it does. It doesn't exactly load them any "faster", but it stops the rest of the game, so it's not like Sora is just standing there while some heartless get away.
Do trophies really stack? I just beat critical and only got the critical and proud trophies. I don't think I missed seeing beginner and standard, either
I can't wait until this comes out! One more day 😊
Can someone explain to me the whole Zero Exp ability?
+The Frozen Cavern I had that, but it only kicked in a couple months ago, it's a weird glitch that is random to activate
Did they update the xemnas fight for the PS4 version??
It eventually got patched on PS4, PS3 is forever stuck with screwed up Xemnas fights though
Do they have soras final form in KH2.5 cause I didn't see it
I'm so looking forward to leveling up all the commands slowly until i get Stitch's D-Link maxed out.
How easy? i remember that unless you use CWCheat to buff your defence to 255 and have the dark defence buff abilities he one shots you unless you have Second Chance and Once More equipped
supersaiyanmikito Just so long as No Heart can be Lv1'd. :D
FUCK YEAH! TROPHY STACKING!!!!
***** I agree.I've replayed the Original KHII.Now that this is the FM version,I know for sure that I will replay this game a bunch of times! :D
It was a pain in the ass to replay KHFM 3 times &6 times for Re:Chain of Memories.2.5 Here I come!
By far the biggest issue for me is the Xemnas fight RC's not showing up, I died there like 3 or 4 times and was so confused since it worked just fine in the last version.
Plus it looked and felt so sweet to dodge all those attacks, now you either die, limit, or frantically air dodge/glide your way out of it :(
Can they actualy fix some issues like drive forms? Or freezing and other stuff?
wait, i thought 2.5 was not released yet. is this a different 'version' or maybe did you get a demo or what is going on here?
japanese
Can't wait for this game! This is probably a vague question but do you know if it's a harder difficulty?
Well in kh2 final mix there is critical mode that wasn't in the original so u can do that
I'll probably put it on proud mode, all I remember was loving the game but it was too easy. Well I guess a couple of bosses were a challenge..
I'll do it on critical just because i want a challenge.
I'm curious: Are Kingdom Hearts 2.5 and 1.5 in English, or do they have their original Japanese text?
They've both been translated, he's just playing on an import copy since they came out way earlier in Japan.
I got one random crash during the mushroom 13 in christmas town. I was gliding in final form to win but it just randomly froze forever i couldnt eve acsess the platstation menue i had to shut off the console
Does anyone know if they'll give the game a couple patches later?
they wont because its square enix, they don't patch there games
Lol now that I think about it, they really dont
scalerzodiark They really should consider it though. but knowing Squeenix they won't, they seem to care more about money these days than anything else.
it turns out that the load times in this game can be decreased by getting a super slim ps3. Now I've always had a super slim so this doesn't bother me but for the people who don't are constantly complaining about the load time I hope they are ready to spend some more money.
I have a super slim as well and to be honest the load times don't bother me
I haven't do it before on the PS3, but on what it affects the "install" option?
One weird thing I've noticed, and I don't know if it's my TV or not, but it seems this game is REALLY fast on burning images into the screen. Like if you keep it paused for even a minute, you can see some pixels leftover even when you change the channel. They go away pretty quickly, though. The weird thing is that KH2.5 is the only game in my collection that does it and it's ONLY on the pause/journal menus. Not the battle menus or anything.
EDIT: It's been a year since I've written this comment, but it was my TV. I got a new one playing this game on. Then again, it's also on HD.
I played the original kh2 SO LONG AGO so I didn't notice most different sounds or gameplay effects caused by the 2.5 edition meaning I can't distinguish old timeless river to new timeless river and so on.
um im playing KH2.5 right now and when i go to save and select "title screen" it takes me to the title screen it works fine in the US version
***** i can't tell if your being rude or not.........
***** ok really why do you people gotta be so f**king rude, can't you be positive insteed of being negative god! >:(
DancinZombiee God wasn't being negative.
Question: Do the load times improve when installed to an HD or SSD?
Yes, that's why a PS4 Port would be great, because only way to install this to PS3 HD/SSD is by hacking it, while a PS4 port forces install
It's not sold on PSN? I figured it could be installed that way but I guess Square's fucking insane as usual.
Wow. Wonder what kind of crap Disney is smoking? It'd extend the life span of each game's sales life.
Now that it's been about a year since this video, do you plan on doing a more thorough one of these for 2.5 BBSFM?
will you do another good and bad video for the ps4 version
Not sure if you already know, but he made a pastebin with most changes found by the community. Basically the loadtimes are naturally faster on the PS4 since the game get's installed on the hard drive, but 60fps is kind of fucking with the physics pastebin.com/t9fzcZsk
Isaakix455 In the update most of it was fixed i think also a new cutscene in days.
I have a question is terra only in 2.5
I'm really glad I wasn't tripping out when I saw the Xemnas RC not showing up.
What kind of equipment do you need to make the videos look as good as yours?
Is he talking about the PS3 version of the game? Cause I’m seeing this video in 2019 and I’ve been playing the PS4 version, which has some really fast and almost seamless loading times.
They put dates on YT videos for a reason
dont the cutscene skips seem a little more consistent? or is that just me
Will the digital version of 2.5 likely cut down on the load times?
as far as I know, there is no digital version of the game.
There is no digital version
Have these been patched?
Ps4 they did I think
I did have the game crash on me during the white screen after you select Continue after losing a boss fight.
Can't wait for the English version :D
That issue with the Sound Effects missing is really bugging me. That scene with Sephiroth sounded awful! >.>
I love Kingdom Hearts, which is why i want the community to point out every mistake they find so that in the future square can make their games even better :) That's just how i look at it.
3:48 "I can't speak for BBS trophies yet" oh don't worry. You will. We all will.
Agonizing pain.
i'm thankful they didn't add a speed run or undefeated trophy for 2.5 like they did for 1.5(kh1 FM and RE:CoM)
Does anyone know if 2.5 is using FM difficulty ( Enemies do more damage, and ai is smarter then vanilla KH2)?
who cares? buy it. buy it twice. I still own all of these originals, and I would buy 2.5 in a heartbeat.
but, BBS and 2 are both the Final Mix versions.
***** Nope. I hated KH2 for the fact that it was too easy. I wanted see if the difficulty spiked so at least a level 1 critical run felt like it was worth something.
I don't care much for the added content since it's been out for who knows how long.
there's always level grinding. or not grinding, if you prefer.
What was removed exactly? And the only censorship is Xigbar/Braigs crosshairs, which was censored in US KH2 OG as well.
TheLegendaryZed aqua shirt has now in 2.5 HD but ongrinal final mix they had skin showing so they had to put more clothing on her
TheLegendaryZed a shirt ^
That's actually only a change made in international releases of Birth by Sleep that was carried over into Final Mix due to the Final Mixes including all overseas content changes (as well as the bonus stuff, obviously). Naturally it carries over into the remake as well.
So Final Xemnas has a broken reaction command, huh. I got to the point where in that fight (data version), I would just once more tank the throw attack because I couldn't rc dodge it, thinking it was because I couldn't get the timing down like I did in vanilla II. I'm imagining it's complete hell at level one, especially the data version and having to refight the first phase every time.
Why does the 2.5 version of KH2 not have german voiceacting while the ps2 version does? (Talking about the german version)
How do u get a crown?
I wouldn't say i'm hardcore, but I'm above casual, where do I fit? o.O
same here lol
Passionate? No.o
maybe
+Gamer Guy Hardcasual
In this context, a casual run is just not speed running.
You already platinum kh2fm?
This... right here.... is my childhood
I experienced countless game crashes. Or rather, returns to the game selection screen at any random screen changes or opening of save menus.
I wish I would have known about the quitting to game menu glitch before this vid, that is 100% an unacceptable glitch that is incredibly annoying to players
+Bizkit047 that happened to me only once. I learned my lesson about messing with glitches
I think on both PS3 and PS4 versions, you have an increased chance of random crashes depending on the condition of the disc, i know this because i had a scratched version of 2.5 for PS3 and the game would occasionally crash after boss fights
This isn't the case for PS4, because PS4 requires data install, so it never uses the Disc to load anything, like all PS4 games.
@@Bizkit047 ah alright, but that is the case for the PS3 version though right?
@@Ryanzusa I've noticed it in a good condition disk.
1:28 Yeah the "grahpics" look really nice
Thankfully the load times on the PS4 version are pretty much non-existent
Had 4 game crashes on ps4 but that happens. My only complaint that I have is, that there is no safe point at the organization 13 spot.
I KNEW there was something off about Xemnas' opener.
I don't remember exactly but I think i was using the reaction command for the dusks or something.
its so weird that it happened to me
...I guess you were so unlucky? I used Reaction Commands a lot and never bumped into the T-stance.
I could try again, maybe, but my Blu-Ray drive gave up on me.
I'm Nori maybe because I was using an ISO lol
Oh. No wonder. ISOs come in different kinds of the same game, so your ISO may not be as "perfect" as the retail copy.
You forgot that the scene before the battle of the 1000 heartless wasn't remastered and also in BBS Blank Points wasn't too
Damn nice footage, that is some mastery of the game. I've been doing my first critical run and I thought I was good but I am not that good lol.
