  • My Hi Lift Jack is probably around 20 years old, but still works great, just needs a little lube once in a while

This video was a great. Bought one at Harbor Freight for 49 and got them all out this weekend. Thank you!

Off to buy a high lift jack right now. Great tip with the chain rather than screwing a block to the post. Excellent video thank you

Best video I've seen yet on this. Very clear. Thanks for showing it clearly from the beginning, including how you put the chain around the post. I have a post to remove that broke off. I'm left with about 18" of 4x4 left at the bottom of a 2 1/2 foot hole. I'll just need to use a longer chain.
    Thanks

We use 4x2 timbers a little longer than the jack at the front creating a tripod and it stops the jack tipping forward making it much safer to use.Bolt the 4x2's to the top of the jack using a long coach bolt or similar.

So satisfying to watch it nudge out!

I built some tripod legs for my Hi Lift jack when it's to be used as a post puller. In Facebook, do a search on, "Russell Stephan Pimpin' out the Hi Lift Jack with Accessories Built/Purchased".
And before I owned the Hi Lift, I used a standard floor jack and a scrap yard obtained steel I-beam to remove the concrete plugs of a privacy fence. This effort is also documented on FB. Search, "Russell Stephan Privacy Fence Removal".
Amazing what one can accomplish with a little thinking along with a bit o' fabrication!

I just watched several videos, you are the only one smart enough to place a board under the jack.

I also have a way of using a "bridge" when the concrete base is big, I will make a video when I come across the need to use it again

Try a Pressure Washer and wet and dry vac...... just a few hours, look into it

Wouldn't you need to empty it out every 5 minutes? Most shop vacs are pretty small

It does not work so well on 32” of concrete, unfortunately. I’m going to be digging a loooooong time.

Here's a solution using nothing more than a scrap steel I-beam, floor jack, and some cribbing. Of course, one needs a welder to fabricate the foot on the I-beam.
Search Facebook for, "Russell Stephan Privacy Fence Removal".
