Took a 14' Shasta travel trailer and turned it into a flatbed, the roof, and walls were extremely rotted from years of leaks that the previous owner never bothered to fix, so it became a flatbed trailer....too bad the axle isn't rated for much weight, and its registered in my grandfather's name so its useless to me once the registration expires at the end of this year. The pickup bed trailer is in the same predicament. So, I guess the end of the year out comes the cutting torch and sawzall and off to the scrap yard they go.
@@wildbill23c I think I read somewhere that you can register a trailer by having it weighed, then take the weigh slip to a BMV to get a license for it. Pretty sure the trailer has to be under 4,000 LBS though.
Happy Birthday John. Enjoy your day buddy. Well a flatbed trailer is the best use for those worthless tent trailers. Even regular travel trailers aren't built all that well, and if you actually do some digging into the travel trailer world...and yes that includes the even more expensive 5th wheel trailers....they're only rated for 3-5 seasons of use before they start falling apart....and probably even less if you tow them around a lot....and for those who take them off the paved roads, you probably will find they fall apart even quicker...and in falling apart, its done from the inside out, you don't realize it until you find all the leaks, and by then its already too late as the walls and roof are already compromised at that point, and not worth fixing.
My late great uncle bud ace mechanic converted one of those to haul all his tools from his home in providence Rhode Island to his 40 acre camp in New Hampshire. He had everything attached and labeled. I think Mr Jon should be promoted to supervisor. He has too much talent not to be in charge 😊plus he’s better looking then his dad 😊
That socket and socket wrench you pulled out of the corner where the water heater is is probably for the plug on the water heater you would take the plug off the water heater for winterizing your camper
Happy Birthday John ! / I was 1 hoping the front storage would work out.The fiberglass part will be usable for storage with whatever you build under. It's good you're getting some usable materials like the furnace. The water tank and pump would be nice for rinsing muddy rides before putting them on the trailer after a day out..?.
HBD John. That's about all tent trailers are good for, the frame and wheels.

I have an old pop~up I inherited from a friend.... My plan is to put a tiny home hut on it .. thanks for the insight with this video 😉👍
Looks like the cabinet doors and cabinet fronts could be saved. Wash/restore them then make new cabinet frames behind them.
