Awesome. Inspired by you, I decided I was never too old to learn and took hammer, measuring tape and a roll of cedar shingles and shingled the back of my Little Free Library, which was rotting away because it's plywood. I did watch a UA-cam video and now I'm very proud of the result. Which isn't perfect at all, but it will likely do the job.
I love this Idea ... I have always thought a brilliant idea to have a small train to do little jobs around the property and let grandkids Rid around 😀 LOve you videos from Middle Maine USA
If I remember rightly, there is (was in 1998) a point with that single blade arrangement at the summit of the Snaefell Railway, on the Isle of Man. Well done on your project.
The design of your new switch is great. Only thing i would change is to add a flush plate on each sleeper and a matching plate that extends out the unsupported side of the blade angle adding more support in that direction. The plates can then be greased for easier movement. Then of course a positive point locking mechanism at the tip of the point with a working switch stand providing indication.
I'd rather enjoy them going "clink, clinketty-clink-clink, clink-clink". But that would require the complicated support of a frog, and we don't want that extra difficulty at this point. . . . 🤔
I dont whanna be pessimistic but i know because of your past videos that you are looking for a supposed locomotive. Im just speculating if you are going to have any future problems with the loco and that interchange. Never the less im fascinated by the work you are doing here, just keep going!!
hi watched all the video's on this very good point it take all the hard work moving your gear around the place there alot that are funny about tracks and trains i do love the mono rail one you did i posted a reel to reel video's along time ago about reel to reel decks and the way i use them and the use of cassette 1/8 tape did not go down well to many like things in a kind of way like you and your track i had alot of 1/4 spools i need to find a way of using them like you and the steal keep up with the video's
How flexible are the unsupported rails? I wonder if you could just rely on the flex of the rail and the weight of the wagons and use pegs to stop the rail moving too far?
A single bladed point design is usually used in tramways in mines For the same reason why you're using it too a Tramway and a mine isn't meant to carry people. It's just supposed to carry ore So a single split is switch is more ideal plus it's cheaper, you're useless material.

Well done you!!!
I'm learning a lot from these videos on how to make my own cheap little railway when the time comes
Hey me too❤😂
You've got a great voice Tim. Very comforting. You could do voiceovers.
Love your projects too. Long may they continue.
Reminds me of Ringo Starr narrating Thomas and Friends mixed with the deep timbre of George Takei.
I really love watching ALL of your videos, Tim.....Thanks so Much!

Enjoyed the upload today. Thanks for sharing.
Even though these are re-uploads and I've already seen them, Im watching them anyway while trying to fall asleep.

@ Way Out West, so glad that you found a work around to get your railway series on the new channel.
Yea I'm number 1000 thumbs up Very cool railroad hello from Detroit Michigan USA
Fabulous video thanks for taking the time to show us your skills
You have far too much fun playing trains bro. Yes as long as it works the looks are unimportant. Safe travels up your way
I love the rail related videos, have you thought of making a playlist for all of them from both channels ? Im just wondering
Ah! I hadn't thought of that! I was busy moving them all over, but of course there's need to do that, is there? Silly me. I'll have a think...
Never miss a chance to rewatch a railway video!
Why not divide both ways symmetrical? Than the bend will be half as sharp?

Watch the next video ;)
Thanks for the video Tim!
It's a good thing you don't have a fully equipped machine shop or you could be very dangerous and a real risk to the world.

Yes, but all completely unnecessary : - )
Another one ☝️ plenty to watch now.🧑🎄🧑🎄🧑🎄🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️
So, I'm guestimating that the sound of the wheels on each sleeper will go from "clink clink" to "clinkity clink clink" yes?
I'd rather enjoy them going
"clink, clinketty-clink-clink,
clink-clink".

You should add double spring washer, single washer doesn't have that much flex.
That's a good idea..

I think those sharp edges would be more smooth on the ride, if the wheels hat more of a taper

Billiant design and construction of the rail system and switch set up.
Thanks Tom!
All it means is that I get to "like" them again. :)

Neat.
Love it. Ala reupload.
Neat! So that is how you did it!
Hey! Are you thinking in making a pyrolisis reactor to get wood gas, charcoal and creosote anytime soon?
Charcoal would be a good fuel source for a certain type of locomotive for your railroad
You should have narrated Thomas stories.
The mono switch is a great way to transfer from one track to another ! Are you putting a rail switch on both sides of the junction ?
Nice
it kind of seems out of order but it is still interesting
You're right - sorry about that, but some of these videos were on our other channels and I'm slowly moving them over..
I love it❤️
😀😀😀😀😀
❤
kan you pls meke a passisger car
